2005 Porsche Boxster S Convertible 2-door 3.2l on 2040-cars

Year:2005 Mileage:15663
Location:

Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States

Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States

I am selling my 2005 Boxster S. with 15,663 miles. Yes, that is no typo. This is your chance to own a nearly new, well optioned, ultra low mileage Boxster for less than half the original price. I purchased this car in May of 2010 from a friend who was the original owner. It had a little over 4300 miles on it then. I have really enjoyed it for the last 3 years. I am building a new home and am selling a few of my cars. I have been a member of PCA for 38 years and have owned Porsches since college, 42 years ago. I have had all the service work at Porsche of Chattanooga. I will service the car one last time to give the new owner a chance at a pre-purchase inspection.

I am enclosing scan on the window sticker, so you can see how well it is equipped. The Michelin tires are in great condition.

The PASM makes the car ride extremely well and the sport-chrono stiffens the suspension on the curvy Tennessee back roads. This is the best Porsche that I have ever owned and positively flies up the Tail of the Dragon.

The Bose sound system has a 5 disc CD changer and sounds great.

You will really like the Bi-Xenon lights.

In addition to the factory mats, I have a set of Loyd’s mats as well as an indoor cover.

The 19 inch Carrera classic wheels are in great shape and have the factory crests. The front wheels are 8 inch wide and have 235/35 19 Michelin Sport tires. The rears are 9.5 inch wide and have 265/35 19 Michelins. All the tires are in great shape.

It has heated front seats.

The park-assist works well when backing.

The Sycamore package is wood trim which really brings on the compliments and is highly unusual.

It has a clear bra on it that has kept the front end out of harms way, except for one small chip in the bra. The bra works well but is not invisible.

I had the passenger rocker damaged in a jacking incident. It was repaired and you not find it easily. Also there is a small crease in the front valence.

These pictures, hopefully, show how nice the car is. I have kept the car up. It has not been used in snow and rarely in the rain. I cannot see how the car could possibly disappoint. The car is really very nice and does not look like it is 8 years old.

My reserve price is in the high range for a 2005 Boxster S but considers the ultra low mileage and condition. Low ball offers will be a waste of both our time, so please spare us. Again, I will have the car serviced at our local Porsche dealer, so all you have to do is get in it and drive. It is a true joy to drive.

Should you have an interesting trade, I would consider taking your car in on trade. My wife needs a 4 door Civic, Corolla, or the like.

Your bid is a binding contract, so have your financing arranged and in place before bidding.

Shipping costs are at the expense of the successful bidder. Shipping is not as bad as you may think and is easily arranged.

If you have less than perfect feed back or less than 20 positive feedbacks, contact me before placing bid. Your verifiable bank references can be checked out, but only if before bidding.

The car is for sale locally and may be withdrawn from bidding. I will answer any questions and will help arrange transportation and pre-purchase inspection.

Porsche reveals new Panamera Turbo S ahead of Tokyo debut

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

For many buyers in the market for a luxury sports sedan, style is as important as performance. But while the Porsche Panamera undoubtedly delivers in the latter category, it falls somewhat short in the former. Porsche went to some lengths (if not quite far enough for some tastes) to improve its four-door model's visual appeal with the facelift revealed earlier this year, but now it's time to up the performance game with the new Panamera Turbo S.
Set to be revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show in just a few weeks from now, the new top-tier Panamera benefits from several key upgrades over the existing Turbo and the pre-facelift Turbo S. For one, its 4.8-liter twin-turbo V8 now produces 570 horsepower (up from 520 in the new Turbo and 550 in the old Turbo S and the latest Cayenne Turbo S) and 553 pound-feet of torque (up from the current Turbo's 516 but the same as the previous model). Despite the power boost, however, Porsche is quoting the same 3.6-second 0-60 time for the new Panamera Turbo S as it did for the previous one - but then that hardly required improvement in the first place. Top speed, however, is up to 192 miles per Autobahn-blurring hour, two mph faster than the previous model.
Other features include carbon-ceramic brakes (hopefully with more durable bolts than sister companies Lamborghini and Bentley have been using) packed inside the wheels from the 911 Turbo and an exclusive shade of greige called Palladium. And for the first time, customers will be able to order this top-spec model in long-wheelbase Executive trim. But don't expect it to come cheap: MSRP (before delivery and options) is quoted at $180,300 for the standard wheelbase and $200,500 for the stretched model. That's two and a half times the price of a base Panamera, and makes the new Panamera Turbo S Executive both the most expensive and most powerful Porsche your can buy this side of a 918 Spyder. Haven't passed out yet? There's more to digest in the press release, so head on down below to take it all in.

2015 Porsche Macan Turbo

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

I knew it was a softball question, but I asked it anyway. It's pretty standard for automakers to offer up some examples of competitors when they invite the media to drive a new vehicle for the first time. If not stated outright, it's just as standard for some journalist to query about the competitive set as soon as the Q&A begins. I knew full well that Porsche believes it has a valuable new niche to itself with the 2015 Macan (and especially with the Macan Turbo), but I wanted to hear the answer to the competitor cars question anyway.
Porsche CEO Matthias Müller didn't hesitate for a second to respond. With a half-smirk appropriate to an executive that is about to launch the (very probably) most profitable and best-selling product in his brand's lineup he chuckled, "Of course, I could be arrogant and say this car has no competitors..."
Arrogant? Well, the grinning Müller certainly didn't give off a humble vibe as he proceeded to count down a list of German and British utility vehicles from various classes that are clearly behind the pace of the Macan in either looks, luxury, or sporting prowess - Range Rover Sport, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK among them.

Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?

Mon, Feb 27 2017

We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
