Looks good, runs great, super reliable. New tires, new brake pads, and new canvas convertible top with glass rear window. Ice cold A/C. Less than 37,000 miles. Kelly Blue Book says a good condition car with 37,000 miles is worth $16,153 private party and $14,178 trade in. This car is better than good condition and is priced below trade in price. 2.7 liter boxer engine, 5 speed manual transmission, 17 mpg city/25mpg highway, cruise control, power steering, power antilock brakes, power mirrors, leather seats, power seat backs, and AM/FM radio with single CD player. Very clean interior, exterior paint (Lapis Blue Metallic Clearcoat) is glossy and very presentable. Most of the paint is over 10 years old and has a few light scratches and a few small dings. Its still a nice looking car. It has a rebuilt title. I bought the car with a salvage title one year ago (28,000 miles) with slight front end damage. I repaired the front bumper cover, installed new tires (with alignment) and touched up the paint where damaged and added silver stripes. Car had original front tires when I bought it. Looks like it has been garaged since new. Airbags were not deployed. The bottom three photos show the previous front bumper damage (passenger side, lower), and drivers door damage. Most of the paint is the original factory paint, except for the front bumper, the stripe and the drivers door. Known defects: missing wheel center cap for drivers rear wheel, slight dent in passenger side front rim, headlight washers are missing and have been deactivated (could be purchased or fixed), and fuel gage sometimes remains at its previous level after refueling for a short period, then operates fine. Call for more information. Thanks, Mark (Three, two, one - 795-2426)

Are you the next Porsche 911 GT3 RS or GT2?
Thu, 17 Apr 2014Porsche typically keeps to a suitably fast schedule when it comes to rolling out increasingly hard-core performance versions of the 911. After the 997 Carrera debuted in 2004, the GT3 version followed in 2006, and by the end of the 2007, Porsche had rolled out both the GT3 RS and GT2 versions. Then the facelifted 997.5 came out in 2008 and it was back to the start: the GT3 came in 2009, the GT3 RS and GT2 RS in 2010, and the GT3 RS 4.0 in 2011. But things have slowed down some with the latest 991 generation.
The new Carrera came in 2011 and the GT3 followed in 2012. By recent history's example, we should have at least two more hardcore models by now, but we don't. Maybe the engineers in Zuffenhausen have had their hands full fixing the spontaneous-combustion issues with the existing GT3, or maybe their attentions have been focused elsewhere altogether. But if these spy shots are anything to go by, it seems like they're back on the job.
Now we don't know if this prototype foreshadows a new GT3 RS or a GT2, but it sure looks more hard-core than the existing GT3 that many purists have derided as too soft, what with its automatic transmission and four-wheel steering.
The exotic '80s: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus and the Porsche 959
Thu, Apr 9 2015There's no secret that we are big fans of the MotorWeek Retro Review series around here. In an automotive world that often focuses on the latest tech and what's coming in the future, it's refreshing to take a look into the past to get a new perspective. That said, the show is really outdoing itself this time by posting a full episode from the '80s to YouTube, complete with the original, jazzy opening. The video is an absolute standout, too, with drives of some of the best supercars that Europe could offer at the time. Among the now classic sportscars that MotorWeek got to drive are the Ferrari 328, Lotus Esprit Turbo, Lamborghini Jalpa and Autokraft AC Mark IV. There's even a preview that sings the praises of the tech in the Porsche 959. The episode is basically a showcase of most of the exotics from young enthusiasts' walls and school folders during the '80s and is not to be missed. The 2013 Rolex 24-hour race at Daytona comes down to the last hour [spoilers, w/video]
Mon, 28 Jan 2013It took 24 hours to run the race, but it was the last one was stuffed with the high action as four cars were still trying to figure out how to gain victory on the track and in the pits. Along with the obligatory crashes, spins, mechanical issues and retirements had come numerous penalties, a double-digit number of full-course yellows and two hours of fog that turned early Sunday morning into a stretch of parade laps.
The final hour would make up for the morning - drivers who might have been happy just to get on the podium had a shot at victory as the end of the race approached, and that turned into a few gambles that paid off, and at least one that didn't...
