I am the original owner of this Boxster. I bought it through the Stoddard Porsche dealership in Willoughby, Ohio. The condition is perfect. No flaws of any kind. Never smoked in, garage kept at all times. Never left outside even overnight. Did get caught in the rain once, though.
This is a very unique car as you can see by the pictures. I was told at the time of purchase by Greg Talani, who was a premier Porsche salesman for Stoddard at that time, that this was a one of a kind Boxster. That the car could not be ordered the way this particular vehicle was optioned out. It was sent to them by Porsche Germany, unordered, in a batch of vehicles. This was because of the long history Stoddard Porsche had with the Porsche family.
As you can see in the pictures, the car is full of leather and other materials and color accents that were not available in this model year. Even the seats were not on the option list for the 2000 Boxster. The car has never been scratched, dented, dinged, modified in any way at all. All four wheels are perfect with no scratches. The top is perfect. All rubber seals are perfect.
As you can tell by the mileage it was not driven much. But, oil changes were done yearly with Mobil 1, even if I only put a 100 miles on it in that particular year. The only thing I ever had to do was change the battery, due to the life expectancy of the battery.
- The car has a factory bra
- Leather steering wheel
- Leather roll bar
- Leather shift knob
- Leather E-brake handle
- Leather Dash
- Leather wrapped passenger airbag
- Leather wrapped side air bag
- Color accented door panel and center console
- The wheels were also unique for that model year
Whenever I washed the car, I would remove the wheels and tires. I would then wax the wheels inside and out, clean and detail all suspension components. It all still looks factory new. Even the rotors still look factory new. (gray powdercoat)
I don't think you will find a nicer, cleaner Boxster. Unless you buy a new one.
Buyer will assume responsibility for shipment of vehicle. We are relocating into a cold weather climate and most likely would not drive the Boxster at all. This is the only reason I am selling it. The car must be picked up by Sept. 18th. Please, serious buyers only. DO NOT try to scam me. I don't have to sell it and I reserve the right to end this auction early for any reason.

Porsche Macan configurator lets you build $110k crossover
Mon, 25 Nov 2013Part of the idea behind the new Porsche Macan is that it's less expensive than its larger sibling, the Cayenne. But with a starting MSRP of $49,900, the base Macan S is actually $300 more expensive than the cheapest Cayenne. That, however, is just the start, as you can see from the online configurator.
As is often the case with German cars in general (Porsches especially), tick the right boxes and you'll soon be leaving that base price behind in a cloud of tire smoke. Start off with the Macan Turbo and you're looking at a base MSRP of $72,300, which is already over twenty grand more than the naturally-aspirated version. But even that soon escalates as the options pile on.
Aurum Metallic paint will set you back $3,120. 21-inch wheels, another $3,300. You'll probably want the air suspension, torque vectoring, the Sport Chrono package, adaptive cruise control and lane-change systems, and those each add over a grand to the price. A Burmester surround sound system is the single most expensive option at $4,290. And if you choose them all - and choose all the optional trim packages - you'll soon be looking at a price in excess of $110,000. That's enough to get you into a Cayenne Turbo... assuming you don't tag on all the options to that one, too.
Porsche digitally dissects its 918 Spyder for your viewing pleasure
Wed, 02 Oct 2013At this point, you'd think we'd know all there is to know about the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder - except what it's like to drive - but Porsche has released a new video giving us a more in-depth look at its new plug-in hypercar all the same. The animated video gives us numerous cutaway looks at the 918 Spyder while giving a visual demonstration of the car's four hybrid driving modes.
Though nowhere near as exciting as watching the 918 blast around the Nürburgring in record time, this new video is nonetheless both interesting and informative. Scroll down to watch the video yourself, and be sure to check out our live gallery of the production version of the car along with a stock gallery.
Our love of SUVs is killing people in the streets
Tue, Jul 17 2018Americans are fond of supersized fast-food meals and colossal convenience-store fountain drinks, even though they're clearly bad for our health and U.S. adults keep getting fatter. We also like large vehicles, and our love affair with SUVs is killing people in the streets. According to a recent investigation by the Detroit Free Press/USA Today, the increase in SUV sales over the past several years coincides with a sharp rise in pedestrian deaths in the U.S. — up 46 percent since 2009, with nearly 6,000 people killed in 2016 alone. With SUV sales surpassing sedans in 2014 and pickups and SUVs currently accounting for 60 percent of new vehicle sales, it's no wonder Ford announced in April plans to cease U.S. sales of almost all passenger cars. And this followed Fiat Chrysler's move to virtually an all-truck, -SUV and -crossover lineup. While the Freep/USA Today investigation found that the simultaneous surge in SUV sales and pedestrian deaths comes down to vehicle size, it also points to a lack of action on the part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), even though it knew of the dangers SUVs pose to pedestrians. Also blamed are automakers dragging their feet on implementing active safety features. Using federal accident data, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) determined that there was an 81 percent increase in single-vehicle pedestrian fatalities involving SUVs between 2009 and 2016. Freep/USA Today's analysis of the same data by counting vehicles that struck and killed pedestrians instead of the number of people killed showed a 69 percent increase in SUV involvement. As far back as 2001, researchers at Rowan University forecasted a rise in pedestrian deaths as Americans began switching to SUVs. "In the United States, passenger vehicles are shifting from a fleet populated primarily by cars to a fleet dominated by light trucks and vans," the researchers wrote, with light trucks comprising SUVs.
