Porsche 1993 968 Base Convertible 2-door Tiptronic 3.0l on 2040-cars
Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States
I am the original owner of this beautiful Porsche 968 Cabriolet
with 98,700 memorable miles on it.
I am very meticulous, so this car has been well maintained and always garaged. This very desirable red convertible is in excellent condition with a new black top. Interior is black with full power seats and in great shape. Has heated outside mirrors, an alarm, mats, a boot, original handbook, and tools Gauges all work properly and A/C blows cold. One owner, who has babied this rare model. Maintenance records are available. This model is rare, having only been produced for 3 years with only 2200 total cabriolets imported to the US. One of the best 4 cylinder sports cars ever produced. Fantastic as a daily driver, a weekend cruiser, or an addition to any collection
Because it was well kept it looks like new, turns heads,
and is fun to drive. Overall this is a really sharp 968 convertible sought after color combo and great looking/driving car. . These cars are pretty rare and a great addition for any Porsche enthusiast or anyone looking for a cool German Sports car at a fantastic price. I have retired and am downsizing to a smaller home that will not allow me to keep all my "toys". All I can say is that this car has served me well and is one of the best cars I have ever owned, including other Porsches. Any questions, call 918-369-8988 |

Watch Porsche's 918 Spyder break a sweat while hot weather testing
Wed, 19 Jun 2013With five months left until the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder enters production, Porsche engineers are still putting the hybrid sports coupe through a battery of last-minute tests. To give us new reasons to ogle over the car - as if we needed any more - Porsche has released a short video showing the 918 Spyder undergoing shakedown tests in the hot Nevada desert. And you can't drive through Nevada without visiting Vegas, too, right?
Although there's really nothing new to see in this video, it's still fun to watch as Porsche approaches one million test miles logged on this exciting new high-performance model. One interesting part (at around the 0:37 mark) shows the car taking off under electric power and then transitioning to engine power, which results in a mix of whirs and growls as the 918 Spyder switches from a 127-horsepower electric vehicle to an 887-hp hybrid supercar. Scroll down to watch - and hear - Porsche's latest creation in motion.
Porsche close to fix for 911 GT3 engine fires
Sun, 16 Mar 2014It looks like 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 drivers might actually get to drive their cars again soon. Reports of fires affecting the track-ready Germans first began about a month ago. Then, a few days later, the automaker confirmed two of the five alleged blazes and said owners shouldn't drive their cars until further notice. Porsche then went so far as to offer to pick up the GT3s and transport them to the nearest dealer until the problem was identified and a fix was found. Finally, there appears to be a repair.
"We know the reason and the problem-solving measures. We're testing them," said Porsche CEO Matthias Müller to Bloomberg. The technical fix will be released to owners shortly.
The recall affects all 785 GT3s that have been sold so far, but there have been no reported injuries caused by the fires. When it first announced the safety campaign, Porsche said: "Internal studies to determine the cause of the engine damage have not been completed yet."
Porsche picks Maria Sharapova as brand ambassador
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Russian-born tennis superstar Maria Sharapova has just inked a three-year deal with Porsche to be its brand ambassador, a position that will put her on a global campaign for the German automaker. The 26-year-old athlete isn't new to the role - she previously signed a similar three-year deal with Land Rover in 2006.
"Maria Sharapova is an exceptional athlete. She combines top performance in her sports with elegance and power. These are precisely the qualities that are embroiled in our sports cars," explained Matthias Mueller, CEO of Porsche AG, during the announcement. "Her profile and charisma are an ideal fit for Porsche. She is also highly respected around the world and enjoys an outstanding reputation," he added.
Some consider Porsche's choice of a female tennis player as its ambassador interesting, if not surprising. The automaker has traditionally marketed its vehicles with a masculine edge - Sharapova and the sport of tennis position the brand in a different light - likely an intentional decision. Do you think Porsche's choice was a good one? If not, who would you choose as its global ambassador?
