For Sale-
This is a great condition 1993 Porsche 968 Cabriolet Triple Black Six speed manual transmission with only 67300 original miles.
The only reason I am selling this is because my new home only has one parking spot. This is a great car and a great deal. It needs nothing mechanically. The canvas top needs to be repaired. The top works and doesn't leak, but it's a bit worn and has two 4 inch slits in it, but again it doesn't leak. See picture 7 The top can be easily repaired. Must Sell- John 312-927-4870
See below for back ground on the 968
The Porsche 968 was voted Performance Car of the Year by Performance Car magazine in 1993. Hugely expensive when new, more than $60,000 in 1992, the 968 is one of, if not the rarest production Porsches. Only 4,665 where imported into the US between 1992 and 1995. With its front engine, rear transaxle design, and Brembo four-piston alloy calipers, it is arguably the best handling Porsche as well. With the 6 speed gearbox, it will reach 60 mph in under 6 seconds, with a top speed of 165. Today its styling is still fresh, and it will turn heads and have people asking you if it’s new. Buy one – FAST!
The Porsche 968 is the last GT style car produced by Porsche, and one of the most balanced cars ever built, which means it handles like a dream.

Motor Trend holds World's Greatest Drag Race for the third time
Fri, 23 Aug 2013As part of Motor Trend's Best Driver's Car competition, the buff book has held its third iteration of the World's Greatest Drag Race. With an airfield and a dozen of the world's finest performance cars at its disposal (oh, and a helicopter), the MT team did what any good group of enthusiasts would do, and tried to figure what car could cover a quarter mile the quickest. World's greatest drag race, indeed.
The contestants, as MT points out, cover a huge variety of engine types, drivelines, aspiration types and body styles, making for a genuinely varied and interesting field of competitors. Here's the full list of cars taking part.

Porsche, Hyundai and GM impress in J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, Fiat and Jeep don't
Wed, 18 Jun 2014Consumers continue to struggle with the advanced user interfaces and technologies being fitted to new cars, according to the latest J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. Overall, the industry average for problems per 100 vehicles climbed three percent, to 116 issues reported in the first 90 days of ownership.
Vehicles from the General Motors' family were dominant, with Buick, Chevrolet and GMC capturing more individual IQS segment awards than any other manufacturer. Despite its well-publicized issues, six GM vehicles (Buick Encore, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevy Silverado HD, Chevy Suburban, GMC Terrain and GMC Yukon) were given IQS awards for their respective segments.
Hyundai was ranked the best overall mass-market brand, with just 94 issues in every 100 vehicles reported in the first 90 days. Parent Hyundai Motor Company, meanwhile, trailed GM with five vehicles winning their segments, including the Hyundai Accent, Elantra and Genesis, as well as the Kia Cadenza and Sportage.
Porsche testing new 911 GTS
Wed, 28 May 2014Porsche may have one more vehicle in its stable with the GTS moniker, if these spy shots are any indication. They show off the presumed 911 GTS lapping the track - the model meant to slide in under the GT3 to be a bit more driver-friendly but still very fast alternative to a stock Carrera.
At first glance, it might look like any other 911, but the devil is in the details. The most obvious among the differences are two centrally mounted exhaust outlets, rather than the ones closer to the corners on most of the current models. They also aren't perfectly in the center like the GT3. The taillights are also somewhat thicker than the current ones, and the rear decklid is split into three exposed sections.
This is the third time we've seen the presumed GTS. The first was as a coupe late last year. Then it showed up again in March testing in convertible form. Although, that version also sported fender vents at the rear.
