NO RESERVE AUCTION, HIGHEST BIDDER WINS!

1986 Porsche 951 (944 Turbo)

Guards red with black full leather interior.

Car runs & drives very well with NO mechanical issues. I have a file of receipts and service history from a reputable Porsche specialist, who has serviced & maintained the car over the past 10 years.
This car has had alot of money spent to maintain it in recent years, including Head work, clutch replacement, turbo & exhaust work & a new Gearbox, drive shaft & mounts, amongst a long list of other things.

The car has been re-painted in original guards red and looks bright & clean from 10 feet away.  The paintwork is not perfect by any means and has some peeling around the front bumper and the occasional stone chip & blemish, including a dent on the rear fender lip.  However it serves its purpose as a ready-to-use weekend or trackday car.  It certainly is reliable enough to use everyday too if you wish.

The car is running a set of Fikse Forged Mach V 2-piece wheels, which fit perfectly without any spacers and are extremely light!
17" staggered fitment with 225/45R17 front and 255/40R17 rear Kumho tires.. These are worth around $2000 alone!

The interior is complete and in good shape for its age. an aftermarket CD player is the only non factory item here and everything works as it should including the A/C & electric seats.

Bilstein adjustible shocks and stock brakes all work as they should, gearbox shifts smoothly & clutch is strong, new battery,

Areas needing attention:

Needs park brake cable replaced, (does not engage), drivers door card pocket is missing and the interior handle is loose, small tear in drivers seat back (see pics), some surface rust bubbles appearing under door sills,(see pics). Hood release lever needs reattached to footwell mount point (still functions fine to open hood). Some small cracks on the dash top.

I welcome any inspections prior to auction close and can assist with delivery of the car for an additional fee per mile.
Clean & clear title in hand.

Please email with any questions & Bid with confidence!

Jay Leno's Dodge Challenger raises $585k for USO in Scottsdale

Mon, Jan 19 2015

Of all the metal moved in Scottsdale, AZ, this holiday weekend, the one you see here was hardly the most expensive. But it's noteworthy for another reason: despite being a relatively humble, second-hand 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8, raised an impressive $565,625. That's because, first of all, it belonged to Jay Leno, and secondly because the proceeds were going to the USO. Leno donated the modern muscle car from his collection to benefit our men and women in uniform, and was on hand to present the car on stage at the Gooding & Company auction, along with USO president J.D. Crouch II and former Army chief of staff General George W. Casey, Jr. After frenzied and patriotic bidding, the gavel ultimately dropped at $360,000, accompanied by over $200,000 in additional contributions, bringing the total amount donated to the USO to over half a million. Commendable though it was, of course the Challenger didn't garner the highest bids at the auction. A 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider sold for $7.7 million and a 1968 Ferrari 330 GTS fetched $2.4 million. A rare 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Series I Coupe Aerodinamico sold for over $4,070,000 – which, according to Sports Car Market, is the most ever paid at auction for a 400 Superamerica. And a 1966 Porsche 906 Carrera 6 also sold for a record $1.98 million. Consumer Reports selling its road-tested roadsters [w/video]

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Here's a chance to acquire a celebrity-owned vehicles, and this time at a discount instead of a premium. So the celebrity in this case is Consumer Reports, that magazine that could be equally adored and abhored by car enthusiasts. CR buys all of its test vehicles and usually finds willing second owners within its own ranks, but its opening its small used-car lot to the public. On the forecourt are four roadsters: an automatic 2012 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro S-Tronic with 6,600 miles for $36,500, a manual 2012 BMW Z4 sDrive28i with 8,400 miles for $45,000, a manual 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK250 for $39,500 and a manual 2013 Porsche Boxster with 7,000 miles for $48,000.
Those numbers mean a savings of $9,000 to $10,000 before haggling - each car is listed with an "Asking price" so there could be some wiggle room if you show up with pockets full of dough and eyes full of serious intent. Since the money CR earns from the sales go back into the magazine's budget to buy more test cars, however, it probably won't take any oddball trades, so you can forget about getting any purchasing help from that track-day AMC Javelin project on blocks in the back yard.
The vehicles have been taken care of and spiffed up for sale; buyers will take delivery at the CR test track in East Haddam, Connecticut and get a tour of the facilities. While you're there they'll even take you on a lap around the track so you can feel how your car handles when driven by one of its testers. They will probably not help you with advice on which toaster and dehumidifier to buy - you'll still need to get a subscription for that. Have a look at the video below to see a day in the life of a CR test car.

Petrolicious details why the Porsche 911 is something special

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

The Porsche 911 is a special car, if for no other reasons than it's been continuously produced since 1964, with nearly every generation regarded as being at or near the top of its class. But why the rear-engined icon has done so well among enthusiasts and regular drivers alike can't always be explained easily. To truly understand the 911, you have to experience the whole package, and that means driving one.
While just about every publication has raved about the Porsche, commercial director, race driver, photographer and 911 owner Jeff Zwart explains to Petrolicious why he was drawn to the legend as a young child, and why he still loves them today.
Zwart's professional and personal life are inextricably linked to the 911, and hearing him talk about the car and its history makes for fascinating viewing. Watch the video below to hear Zwart's story and see him drive a couple examples from his collection: an early 911 and the 964-generation Carrera 4 he won Pikes Peak with for the first time - a car that happens to be equipped with the 959 Paris-Dakar's fascinating torque-split transmission. Enjoy!
