Porsche 944 on 2040-cars
Bessemer City, North Carolina, United States
Okay everyone, I have a great little car, late 1985 or "1985 1/2 " up for auction. It fires up and runs great but needs a clutch to move under own power, The body is in good shape with a couple dings and dents (small ) interior is in nice shape as well.. Car is Burgandy int. Burgandy ext..I bought this car about 5 months ago with every intention of making it whole again but we put the house on the market and will be moving soon and can't bring it along, so unfortunately it's got to go...It is a nice solid car that is complete and untouched original certainly worth fixing for a daily driver, track car, or parts. I'd hate to see it a parts car but that's up to you...Like I said it needs a clutch, windshield ,waterpump and it's a driver...It will also need paint, the top and hood are sunfaded and cracked...runs great, sounds nice, stainless exhaust from cat back, nice exhaust note. new fuel pump, brand new battery 3months old, good bridgestone tires on phone dials, seats are in great shape no rips or tears and the bolsters are perfect, not worn out or broken down, both are 4 way power,"There is a set on craigslist right now asking 1200.00", The back glass has separated from the frame on top but easy fix with 3m window weld (common),dash has some cracks but not as bad as some that I've seen, perfect candidate for a dash cover, stereo with CD, power windows also in good working order, drivers door handle needs replaced... I'm also including in the deal some parts including extra fuel pump ,original tool kit, license plate brackets, and 2 sets of front seats ( need reupholstered but complete),2 extra steering wheels( need rewrapped ) A great easy project to put back on the road and you've got a nice sports car without breaking the bank.Trying to represent car as accurately as I know it to be, please ask any questions you might have.. Paypal or cash only..Good Luck Bidding!!~! |

Chris Harris pits Aston GT12 vs 911 GT3 RS vs McLaren 650S
Wed, Oct 21 2015The Geneva Motor Show is never lacking in exciting performance machinery. And this year was no exception. Our eyes, like those of Chris Harris, were drawn by two hardcore, track-focused versions of existing sports cars. Both wore the name GT3, and now Harris has brought them together for a supercar shootout. And he's thrown one more in for good measure. Those natural rivals are the Aston Martin Vantage GT12 and Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the latter manufacturer having pressed the former to drop the GT3 name to which it claims exclusive domain. There's a great deal that separates them, of course: one's got a V12 up front, the other a flat-six way in the back. But what binds them together is a common approach of taking an existing model, stripping it down, and tightening everything up to make it more of a weapon than a grand tourer. What that means in the Aston's case is a rather high price tag, much higher than that of the Porsche. But scarce demand and speculation on the open market have left British customers, at least, paying as much for the GT3 RS as for the limited-edition Aston. And that takes both into proper supercar territory. So to show what else that kind of money can get you, Monkey has brought along a McLaren. Not the similarly track-focused 675LT, but the standard 650S... Spider, no less, and with worn hard rubber. So which one performs best on the road? Which clocks the fastest lap time on the track? And which gets Harris' vote? You'll have to watch the video for yourself to find out, but it's well worth the 25 minutes of your lunch break. Porsche releases new images of LMP1 racecar
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Porsche has released another batch of images of its LMP1 competitor preparing for its debut season in 2014. This isn't the first we've seen of the new car, as June saw four images of the new racer undergoing testing. Where those images looked merely like someone taking pics during the test, the 11 new images seen above have all the hallmarks of highly polished PR shots.
That aside, the camo-covered cars still provide another look at what the new LMP1 car will look like when it arrives next season. The taillights follow the example set by Audi, by vertically mounting ultra-thin LEDs on the tips of the rear wing, while the LED headlights sport the four-prong look that Porsche has been pushing of late. Besides those two items, its difficult to make out many details due to the amount of camo.
Porsche's LMP1 effort will be focused on the FIA World Endurance Championship, which will see the revered brand return to the top flights of the 24 Hours Of Le Mans with F1 ace Mark Webber behind the wheel. As we've mentioned before, the German brand has set up a dedicated microsite that will cover its newest racer's progress.
New Porsche 4-cyl engines to range from 1.6L to 2.5L
Mon, 02 Jun 2014Recent rumors of a turbocharged, flat-four-engine from Porsche for the Boxster (pictured testing above), Cayman and maybe other models go back over a year. The latest scuttlebutt indicates that there could be three variants on the horizon with 1.6-, 2.0- and 2.5-liter displacements and power as high as 360 horsepower.
Car magazine in the UK claims to have access to the specifications for the project and thinks the 2.0- and 2.5-liter versions are guaranteed for production for the Boxster and Cayman. However, it believes a question mark still looms over the 210-hp 1.6L because the engine would go into a new, smaller sports car that still doesn't have a green light for production.
Regardless of displacement, the new fours would be turbocharged and direct-injected. The 2.0-liter would produce around 286 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque, and the 2.5-liter would make about 360 hp and 347 lb-ft. Earlier reports pegged some parts sharing with the current flat-six.
