Hello! Please read the entire listing before bidding so there is no confusion. Feel free to e-mail us for an address to come take a look at it. We actually encourage it so you can see what you are getting before bidding. Sorry all, no  joyrides, but I can take you for a nice little ride to show you what she's got. We do have the title in hand. It is insured and has a valid registration. To let you know up front the reserve is set at $3500. Well below what this fine little German girl is really worth. If you have an idea about a certain price it never hurts to ask we're not unreasonable. We're really trying to get out of it what we put into it in maintenance this spring and hopefully a few extra gifts for the little ones this year.

You are bidding on a vintage, soon to be classic, 1984 Porsche 944. This old girl only has 86, 028 original miles on her. She has been in our family since purchased new. My uncle is the original owner. It was then shared between my two cousins for a few years and finally resides with me. I have had her since March of this year. She is smoke free! This does have a Porsche COA that will be included in the purchase. And in all reality that simply is nothing more than a detailed Kardex report. It does however verify the neat option deletes on this car. It also has some really cool "port of call" installed options. Port of call meaning that these were options my uncle ordered through the dealer for the car. They were then assembled with these options at the facility that it was imported through. The "port of call" plant was usually on the coast  and the cars were disbursed from there. Basically you could order them but they were not "factory" assembled options. To the best of our knowledge these were ordered usually as a package.

Ok, here are the things that make this stand out. NO rust! Still has factory undercoat on it. Ahhhh, garage life. It only has 86,028 miles on it as I write the description. It will have approximately 10 more miles or so put on her this week. I'd like to take her for a final spin. She has a sunroof delete, true rear wiper delete (but still has rear defrost that works), numbers matching limited slip differential, 16" phone dial wheels with original locking lugs and yes I do have the key, power windows (driver side is kinda slow, ground lug behind dash needs a good cleaning, just hard to get to for a bigger guy), power window lock out, 5 speed manual transmission, and the following "port of call" dealer ordered options. P.O.C. option 1 is a slotted rear spoiler below the rear bumper. P.O.C. option 2 is side rocker panels.

Now I'll list the work that has been done to it either by myself or at the shop. Of course I have all of the paperwork in order to support the claims. The timing and balance shaft belts were replaced along with accompanying hardware (local shop with 1 year warranty) in May this year, new Bosch battery, Denso platinum plugs, power steering belt, alternator belt, alternator belt tensioner tube, Bosch cap, BWD rotor, plug wires, DME relay, temperature sensor under the "J" boot, front right fog light harness, new fog light bulbs, new custom fit weather proof floor mats front and rear, Iggee front and rear seat covers (two toned red and black leather professionally installed), brakes front and rear done in April of 2012, vinyl dash cover professionally installed in 2009, and new wipers in May. Everything power works as it should. Air conditioner blows cold. Heater blows hot on all settings. Defrost works, wipers work, and all gauges work. Power side mirrors work. Even the analog clock still works! I would not hesitate to drive this car from Ohio to Florida and not even worry about it failing. As long as you keep up with the maintenance on these German girls they are darn near bullet proof. And since it has galvanized steel body panels its close. Lol!

Now, here is what you will need to make this car 100% collectible. It needs rear hatch struts ($47 ea. on the Pelican), front deck lid struts ($38.75 ea. on the Pelican), right side engine mount ($36.75 ea. on the Pelican, you should probably do both in the back anyway so they're both new), a couple dash light replacement bulbs (one for the tach is out), don't need that one anyway if you know how to drive it right. ;) She will need some new rear tires (no I haven't burned the others off it's just been awhile), The rear hatch needs the pin replacement trick from Clark's garage. It cycles to far and sometimes will not release the pin catches. It is the switch that is going bad (lucky for you I have a replacement included, just haven't gotten round to doing it), she also needs a new passenger side inner door stop bracket ($19.85 at the Pelican),she needs a new bulb for the hatch interior light ($3.99 at any Advance Auto, and she could use the air filter cleaned out just to be safe. She will need paint at some point. The roof has some scratches from my dingbat cousin storing cardboard boxes on top of it a few winters ago. I'll try to get a decent picture of them so you can see for yourself. You can't really even see them unless you are standing there right beside it. Nothing real major needs done except for paint. If you are going to give this a full restore you would have to paint it anyway. Just saying. :) Most of this is just weekend warrior kind of stuff as you can see.

The winning bidder will also get all of the extra parts that go to the car. I have the following extra parts for it. An OEM resurfaced flywheel, OEM front bumper shocks, an OEM power steering pump (needs a good cleaning, got it at the swap meet, but it does work), used clutch master cylinder (works needs cleaned up a bit), an extra set of OEM rear belt buckles, a replacement right side fog light, a used but working oxygen sensor, main exhaust gasket, a new rear hatch switch, and a bunch of miscellaneous other parts like hoses, switches, vacuum hoses, brackets, mounts, and the like. You are also getting the original collapsible spare tire that is in excellent condition. You get the original jack and handle as well.

I do have more pictures of the car if you need them. I can -email them to you upon request. Please don't feel like it is a hassle either. I just don't want to pay for more pictures than what you get for free. I also have a hard time taking a picture of a piece of paper. You'll get the entire folder full of paperwork when you get the car. If you have a reasonable offer just let us know.

As far as payment goes, here is what we are doing. A deposit of $500 will need to be paid through Paypal upon the close of the auction. The remaining amount will need to be paid within 5 days of the close of the auction as well as arrangements to pick up the car. The remaining balance due needs to be paid for by cash or check only. If you are using a check, it must clear my bank before the car will be allowed to leave. No exceptions. Please don't show up with a check and expect to be able to take the car. We just can't allow it. Sorry. We also reserve the right to end the auction at any time. We are also going to try another avenue as well. We can help with transportation for you also. I can deliver it, on a trailer, and covered for weather.  Easily within a 500 mile radius of Crestline, Ohio, 44827 for what it would cost per mile insured. Just ask we can help. Or feel free to pick it up yourself. We may be able to travel further to drop it off depending on timing and dates. You are buying the car as is. Yes, it is nice, but it is not perfect. It is almost 30 years old you know. We are not expert mechanics. We have listed everything to note about it. You may find a character flaw or two not listed but we did our best. Please e-mail us with any questions or concerns before you bid. Sorry to sound a bit strict but we are having an issue with another bidder over a stupid $10 item and sure don't want that kind of hassle over a car.

Next-generation Panamera will spawn variants, Sport Turismo in the running

Mon, Dec 1 2014

A few years ago it took actual willpower not to consider what kinds of cool derivatives Porsche could make with the Panamera. Our fancies were helped by patent drawings of a Panamera convertible, rumors of a two-door 928 GT and internal Porsche sketches of such a car, and report after report after report that the current, second-generation Panamera would begin to expand the family. That hasn't happened, but according to a new report in Auto Express, the next Panamera will be the one to begin the bifurcation. Wolfgang Hatz, the brand's head of research and development, told the mag that, "We have prepared it for a lot of derivatives, personally I like very much the Sport Turismo." The Panamera Sport Turismo, remember, was the hybrid, concept wagon that rolled into the 2012 Paris Motor Show and made everyone ask, "Why didn't you build this design from the beginning?" It could have been Hatz's English, but after professing his ardor for the Sport Turismo, the executive said, "But there is a good chance for more derivatives." We're not sure if that means the Sport Turismo is all but approved, or if he was speaking of the third generation Panamera's new MSB platform in general. Even though Hatz mentioned a coupe and convertible, it sounds like that latter variant won't be happening, Hatz saying that the brand already has the Boxster and 911 Cabriolet. We're willing to forgive that omission – who's really looking for a four-door convertible, anyway? – and welcome the Sport Turismo first if Hatz will please please please get us a new 928.

Porsche 918 Spyder burns to ground in gas station conflagration

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

There's one fewer Porsche 918 Spyder zipping along the roads of Toronto, Canada, today. A fire at a gas station over the weekend claimed one of the hybrid supercars in a massive blaze, and a portion of the inferno was caught on video.
According to our partners to the North at Autoblog Canada, the cause of the fire hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but witnesses reportedly claimed gasoline somehow came into contact with the hot exhaust outlets that exit out of the top of the supercar's engine bay. This was just one of two 918s believed to be in the Toronto area.
Other than a possible broken heart from the owner, the fire reportedly caused no injuries, and only the Porsche and gas pump appeared to sustain serious damage. Warning, the video of the conflagration does contain some explicit language.
