 *****NO RESERVE AUCTION*****

***NO TITLE***

I had to put something in the title section in order to list this or Ebay wouldn't let it be listed. So I put "Salvage".
Of course, if you want to put it on the road then you can always get a salvage title.

NO DELIVERY. PICK-UP ONLY. I WILL HELP YOU WITH SHIPPING IF YOU ARRANGE IT AND PAY FOR IT.

I bought this car off Craigslist in PA as a parts donor for some project cars I have so the title issue doesn't matter to me.
I was told this came from a real-estate settlement and the title had long been lost since the car was abandoned by the family and sitting for many years.
I am selling it, before I start to dismantle it, to finance a 1982 Porsche 931 that I am modifying. If it doesn't sell for what it's worth in parts alone then I have no problem keeping it.
If you are looking at this auction then you probably already know what these cars are worth, how rare they are and the performance specs.
For those of you who don't know....
There were only approx 1,300 of these imported to the US and approx 4,100 produced worldwide. Stock HP is 247. The 1988 Turbo S and the 1989 Turbo's are the most highly desired 944 (951) of the Turbo version. Just the parts alone on this car are worth a fortune. Good luck affording one that is in excellent condition.
Like I said, knowing the value of this car and it's parts, I have to finance my 931 Turbo project so it's just a matter of dollars and cents to me. I would like to see this go to someone who will restore it and care for it. It is out of my budget to do that, honestly. That is why if I end up keeping it, I will have to use it as a parts donor for other turbo projects.

The good:

1) I drove it and it ran perfectly fine until it developed a fuel pump issue. The previous owner had tried to wire in an aftermarket MSI ignition and messed up something. I was able to remove all the crap they did but wasn't able to resolve the fuel pump issue even with a new fuel pump. In order for me to test drive it I had to wire a new fuel pump direct to 12V with an on/off switch but even doing that, it only ran for a few days before developing an attitude again so I'm stumped at this point. Maybe you can figure it out.
Timing belt was done, according to service records, at approx 60,000 so it's due to be changed. I personally replaced the balance shaft belt and coolant fluid.
2) No leaks
3) Clutch is fine
4) Shifts fine
5) All power windows, mirrors, seats lights, etc. work fine.
6) Brakes are fine
7) Everything seems to be mechanically sound upon light inspection by me
8) Paint is original color just the clearcoat is peeling badly.

The bad:

1) NO TITLE
2) AC not working
3) Blows only hot air from vents
4) Missing 1 original rear wheel/rim. Check the pics, I have a phonedial wheel on it now. It came with the factory spare on when I picked it up. Don't have any idea where the original wheel is.
5) Needs paint in a desperate way.
6) Leather interior is very nice, no rips in the seats except a small hole (maybe a cigarrett burn?) but the carpet is horribly stained, maybe Oxyclean it???
7) Missing a rear bumper pad. Check the pics
8) The front passenger side fog light lens is cracked
9) Looks as if the front bumper was "bumped", no structural damage though, just paint chipped
Email questions.

Thanks for looking

Watch a Cayenne Turbo S, Range Rover SVR, and Cherokee SRT drag race

Thu, Mar 17 2016

We live in a weird world where high-performance SUVs could win a 60-mile-per-hour sprint against sports cars from just a few years ago. Here, Top Gear sets up a three-way drag race against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and the results show just how quickly these high-riding models can cross the quarter mile. The Cherokee SRT is the patriotic choice among the three, but it's down on power in this fight. Meanwhile, the Range Rover's menacing growl sounds the best, and the Cayenne Turbo S has the most horsepower. You'll have to watch the video to see which SUV will win this battle. Related Video:

Recharge Wrap-up: Porsche adds third 919 Hybrid for Le Mans, Audi to heat factory with geothermal

Wed, Nov 26 2014

Porsche will be running a third 919 Hybrid LMP1 car in the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The extra Porsche will race in the six-hour May 2 WEC race at Spa-Francorchamps as a lead-up to the legendary 24-hour race on June 13 and 14. Porsche hasn't announced the driver lineup for the third 919 Hybrid, but drivers will remain the same for the other two cars. Including the third car is meant to help further test performance and efficiency as part of development for future hybrid systems. Read more at Green Car Congress. BMW i Ventures is investing in Zendrive, a driving focused data and analytics company. The cooperation of the two companies is meant to help advance safety and efficiency by making the "in-car mobility experience even smoother by optimizing commuting and driving patterns," according to BMW i's Ulrich Quay. The venture capital arm of BMW's i brand also invests in JustPark, Chargepoint, Life360, Chargemaster and MyCityWay, and says it will have more strategic investment announcements in the coming months. Read more in the press release below. The Audi Hungaria factory in Gyor, Hungary will soon be getting geothermal energy from a nearby plant being constructed in Per. When the facility is finished, Audi expects to source 82,000 megawatt hours of geothermal energy per year from it, or about six percent of its total heating needs. The clean energy helps Audi move "step by step along a path to developing a CO2-neutral production plant," says Audi's Dr. Hubert Waltl. "The mobility of the future must be CO2-neutral – and that applies not only to the use of our vehicles, but also to their production." Read more in the press release below. Supporters have begun a petition drive for the passage of an E15 ordinance in Chicago. Despite pushback from oil companies, the city council is close to passing the "Chicago Clean Air Choice Ordinance," which includes the requirement by retailers to sell the 15-percent ethanol gasoline blend in the city. The ordinance includes an exception for stations selling less than 850,000 gallons of fuel per year. More than 4,000 people have signed the petition so far, with others leaving messages to voice their opinion on the matter in opposition to Big Oil's attempt to block it. Read more at Domestic Fuel. Why won't automakers slap on a turbo badge anymore?

Thu, Sep 10 2015

Where have all the turbos gone? Not the actual pieces that go in the engine, mind you, those are everywhere these days as automakers downsize cylinder counts and boost efficiency and CO2 claims. But the turbo badges and fanfare are missing. Back when turbos were something to get excited about there was "turbo-driven," "turbonium," and "The Turbo Zone," among other silly lines. But now that basically every car is getting some sort of boost even on the lowliest trims, automakers are almost sliding in the turbos under the radar. Or if you look at some of the nomenclature, pretending they don't exist at all. The 911 Turbo badge shows where the car goes from being sane to lunatic. It's an important border. The latest automaker to hide that it has boosted the turbo presence is Porsche with the 2017 911 lineup. Even the standard Carrera models now get turbocharged flat-six engines, meaning the 911 Turbo models aren't quite as special as they once were. Porsche is in a sticky situation with this. The 911 Turbo, after all, signifies where the 911 family takes off from being a sports car and becomes the Ferrari fighter. The 911 Turbo badge shows where the car goes from being sane to lunatic. It's an important border, but now Porsche has crossed it and is trying to downplay the fact. There are a lot of exaggerations with displacement badges today, with claims the 2.0-liter turbo four in a Mercedes C Class equates to a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter six to make a C300. Volvo is pretty far up there, too, saying an XC90 T8 means V8 power, even though it's a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged four with electric assist. I don't know why BMW can't just call the car a 330i Turbo, rather than inflating the numbers up to 340i. Saab tried all of this back in the '90s when it decided to turbocharge its entire lineup, from light pressure units all the way up to models actually called "Saab 9-3 HOT" (for high-output turbo). But then the brand deleted any external reference to the turbo under the hood and people wondered why they were buying a $42,000 four-cylinder convertible. And that didn't turn out well. Even though these turbo replacements often make more power than their naturally aspirated predecessors, they're very different engines. People knew something changed when they exchanged their leased 328i with a 3.0-liter six for a 328i with a 2.0-liter turbo four.
