1989 - Porsche 944 on 2040-cars
Cragsmoor, New York, United States

1989 PORSCHE 944S2 27,117 original documented miles I'm the second owner and have owned this car for 22 years. The car has never seen rain and has always been stored in a climate controlled garage. It was only driven in nice weather and has only been parked in the sun once each of the last four summers. My daughter decided to enter it in a few car shows. The car has won it's class. (3) 1st place and (1) second place for each of the four years entered. The class was Original 1969 to 1994 foreign sports car. This past summer it was in the top three for Best Of Show foreign and domestic, in a show of 400 cars. The condition of this car is amazing, everyone that looks at it swears that its new. The interior looks and smells like a new car, theres not a single issue or flaw within. All controls, buttons and systems work perfect, AC could probally use a charge. Everything is original on this car right down to the air in the tires. I've always done my own maintenance and oil changes. Cars exterior shows very well, NO dents scraps or scratches anywhere. There is however a few paint chips on front of car, the worst is shown in the pictures. This car is part of a collection and needs to be driven and enjoyed by someone. I had a state inspection done in September, that it passed without any concerns. Only thing reported was a minor oil leak from back of engine, it only drips a couple of times after being driven then stops. It dosen't seem to be an issue while driving or after its been parked for a time. Porsche service tech recommened that i drive the vehicle more often, and most likely it would stop all together. I managed 200 miles this past summer, but not nearly enough. I would be glad to answer any and all questions about car. All i ask is that your serious about purchasing the car. If you know about these cars then you will realize how special and rare the S2s are.

Magnus Walker shows us how driving in LA is done
Tue, May 12 2015Southern Calfiornia has some great driving roads if you can get out of the city, from the Angeles Crest Highway to Mulholland Drive. Driving in LA itself, on the other hand, is usually more of an ordeal than a pleasure. But Magnus Walker is here to show us we're wrong. In this latest, artfully produced video for eGarage, everyone's favorite outlaw Zuffenhausen enthusiast takes to the streets of Los Angeles in his highly modified 1971 Porsche 911T street racer, carving his favorite route through the city. The drive takes him through plenty of tunnels (so you'll want to turn up your speakers to hear the exhaust note reverberate), around corners aplenty, past the Petersen and even down some freeways – it is LA, after all. But the key here is that he's driving late at night, when the streets are empty and Magnus can do his best homage to C'etait un rendez-vous. Porsche LMP1 to use 4-cyl hybrid powertrain [w/poll]
Wed, 11 Dec 2013With the Formula One season - and indeed his entire F1 career - now behind him, Mark Webber took advantage of his early release from Red Bull Racing to try out the new LMP1 which Porsche is developing, undertaking the final test session of 2013 before Porsche throws it head first into the FIA World Endurance Championship next April. The session - which followed previous tests at Magny-Cours, Monza, Paul Ricard and the Eurospeedway at Lausitz - was held at the Algarve circuit in Portimão, Portgual, in collaboration with Michelin, which is developing the tires for the car. But that's hardly the news here.
No, the news is the first confirmation we've seen on the type of powertrain Porsche has developed for its new Le Mans prototype: a gasoline-burning four-cylinder engine with direct injection and two energy recovery systems. This contrasts sharply with the V6 turbodiesel and single electric motor used by Audi in the R18 e-tron Quattro (or at least the outgoing version) or the naturally-aspirated V8 and single electric motor found in the Toyota TS030. Flexibility in the rules set down by the FIA and ACO give the manufacturers that kind of latitude, prompting F1 teams like Ferrari and Renault to consider developing their new engines for Le Mans prototypes as well.
At this point Porsche isn't saying how large its four-cylinder engine is or how much power it will produce. But it'll be interesting, to say the least, to see how it fares against the Audi and Toyota in next year's championship and at Le Mans when it'll be piloted by Webber, former Lola LMP1 driver Neel Jani and Audi's own 2011 Le Mans-winning pair of Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard.
