History: purchased new by Ted G. 5/4/1988 from European Imports, 6400 San Mateo Blvd, Albuquerque, NM.

Purchase by a friend of Ted G. named Don S. on 8/2001 with 15,990 miles.  This aligns with first car-fax data showing change of title. Receipts are from Premier Motorcars, 6400 San Mateo (same dealer as purchase) for simple repairs, tune-ups, oil changes that Don Snook had performed on car.

Purchased by a Brent R. (CPA) in Missoula, MT on 8/2002, 19,500 miles. Items in receipts: Oil, Alignment (9/02), Sun Roof relay, fuel filter, bulbs, splash place for jack, (9/2002), Throttle Cable, K&N Air Filter (11/2002), Water channel guard (11/2002), Wheel cap (1/2003), Steering Wheel Cover (2/2003), Black lug nut covers (5/2003), Radio and amp(5/2003) professionally installed which includes  4 door speakers and two box speakers under rear hatch, plus cross-over units in the doors, 17in Wheels and New Tires (1/2003), Transmission mount (8/2003), Stiffer front strut brace (1/2003), Shift Boot (12/2004), Oil changes (2006,2007,2008, 2009), Clutch Kit (3/2009), Loan paid off in 6/2007 with 21,516, which aligns with all running receipts.  I have bill of sale and title transfer from transaction (Don to Brent)

Purchased by a Clyne F. (Business Owner) in Topeka, KS on 3/ 2011 with 24,356 miles. Tires 3/2011 at 24,426 miles, AC Compressor replaced and recharged 4/2011 (no receipt), Receipts for all work at Jesse Prather Motorsports that includes a complete Lindsey Racing Turbo Upgrade kit 5/2011 at 24,800, 2 DME chips, Programmable MAF, 3in exhaust, and customer dyno tune.  Plugs, oil, crank sensor replacement (6/2022). I have title transfer from (Brent to Clyne). The car was driven <50 miles with new parts.

Purchased by a Greg Crouch in Austin, TX on 9/20/2011 at 25,642 miles. Flushed all fluids including: oil, transmission, brakes.  Replaced distributor cap, roof relay, fuel pump relay, headlight bulbs. Added battery mat and replaced small screw covers, while also adding some insulation mat under rear carpet.  Changed speakers in cargo area with a custom box (6in JL Audio).  AC Changed to R134.

I took car to a Porsche repair shop to check the odometer and the first thing he did was pull the front seat and look to see if it was the original seat cover.  Yes, it is the original driver's seat and shows little to no wear.  All receipts line up as did all the calls I made to repair shops.

Many extras things included with the purchase. The original window sticker of $42,000, and lots and lots of car articles from the 80's and 90's time frame. I have all original parts that were removed to install upgrades, as well as a COMPLETE set of Dealer Service Manuals. The manuals are a complete detail of the car nut-to-nut and connector-to-connector. Also includes an original brochure for the Porsche 1988 944 series that is really cool to read (the brochure says the 1988 Turbo 944 was the first mid-level premium sports car to get dual air bags and anti-lock brakes!)

A few of other things to note from the pictures is the cool beginner's service guide VCR tape. I burned a DVD of the tape and it comes with the car. Next, the key-fob's light up nice and bright when you press the button. Finally, do not to forget your hats!

Watch onboard video of the Porsche 918 Spyder's record 'Ring lap

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

"Pics or it didn't happen!" You could almost hear the Internet shouting this when news started to trickle in about a sub-seven-minute Nürburgring lap by the new Porsche 918 Spyder. Well, after an official press release, which we ran earlier today, we have your "pics." Moving pics, to be more exact. Porsche has released on-board footage of the 6:57 lap.
The video, which runs about eight-and-a-half minutes, and shows the 918 from inside the car on a flying lap of the German track. Perhaps what's remarkable is just how undramatic it all looks. Sure, there's some sawing at the wheel from test driver Marc Lieb (one of three testers, including legendary rally king Walter Röhrl), but he makes wrangling the Martini-liveried 918 look kind of easy.
Take a look down below for the full, on-board video, and then click over and read our initial write-up from earlier this morning and take a glance at the more stylized video that Porsche originally posted.

Next Porsche Cayman and Boxster to be called 718?

Wed, Dec 24 2014

Porsche has spent a few years sorting out its strategy away from the 911 and its crossovers, among the moving targets being the now-moribund Ferrari-fighting 960, the still-very-much-alive variant(s) coming with the next-generation Panamera, and what appears to be a puissant Cayman that could be called the GT4. Earlier this year there were rumors that a flat-four engine would join the Stuttgart maker's lineup, and that it could go into a roadster called the 718 that would undercut the current $51,400 price of the Boxster, and the Boxster would go upscale, leapfrogging the $52,600 price of the Cayman. Then Porsche turned out the lights on the 718 project, its R&D head telling Autocar, "We have a very good entry point to the range with the Boxster, and we see no reason to go below that." But Automobile reports that while the 718 roadster is dead, the 718 name will live: a la the 911, a new 718 range will encompass coupes and convertibles spanning a wide performance envelope. The suggestion is that the Boxster and Cayman names will be retired. According to Automobile, this will give Porsche a place to put its flat-four engine, into entry level models that – countering Porsche's earlier statement – "come in at a significantly lower price than" the present Boxster. Two displacements are expected, in three outputs: a 2.0-liter with 285 horsepower, a 2.5-liter with 360 hp and a turbocharged version with 400 hp. It's also been speculated that the engine could power an entry-level Macan. It's been reported before that Porsche wants to make use of the 718 name to promote its motorsport heritage, that model having carried Stirling Moss to victory among its many racing triumphs. If it happens, even though Automobile calls it part of "a slight perspective shift," we think it'll be a big shift for the two popular models, but it's not like we haven't had time to get ready. We're told the new moniker will be introduced in 2016 as a 2017 model. News Source: Automobile via World Car Fans Porsche Convertible Coupe porsche 718
