This track car is located in eastern ontario, 45 mins from the ontario - us border. It is a US originated car and successful buyer will have all the documentation necessary for duty free re-entry into the US.

I've owned a number of both air and water cooled rear engine and front engine Porsches since the early 80's.  In the past few years I've been bitten by the DE/Track experience and sold my 996 C4S back in 2012 to get more seriously into the game and eventually graduate to the amateur racing level with the 944 Cup series.  After spending last summer at the track sorting the car, circumstances and priorities have now changed and track time is on the back burner.

Let me tell you about the car. It is an original "S" delivered new to Brumos in Atlanta. It was traded by the original owner in 1994 with 72k mi and continued to run as a pure street car until April of 96 with now 104k on it. At that time it was converted to a dual purpose street and track car by a local PCA Suncoast Region instructor/racer who claimed the car is setup to run D class in PCA club racing events. Looking at the expiry dates on the harnesses and the binder of receipts that came with the car, it appears he ran the car on track with street use until 2003 .... total of 4k mi.  It appears that the car sat unused from 2003 - 2011 and in spring of 2011 was returned to light street use 2k mi 2011 - 2013.

Here's what was in the car when I acquired it in spring of 2013.
  • Fully functioning Heater/AC (AC Blows cold - recent recharge)
  • Rebuilt rear brake system. New pistons, seals and powdercoated red to match fronts.
  • Front brake Big Red 993 TT upgrade with 13" cross-drilled rotors
  • 3" exhaust with race muffler (Ran on street in Florida and passes our local Ontario track sound checks no problem)
  • Stainless Steel brake lines
  • Charlie arms on front (Polished billet aluminum A arms with monoballs)
  • Charlie caster blocks (Polished billet aluminum caster adjustments)
  • Matter cage imported from Germany (Same as the cage used in the 944 cup series cars)
  • Additional oil cooler
  • Momo racing seats (both sides)
  • Brey-Krause seat support brace (Driver's side)
  • Summit Racing 5 Point Harnesses (Out of Date) ... since replaced.
  • Recent engine top end at 108k mi (Valves, seats, springs, heavy duty gasket)
  • All hoses, seals, airlines replaced
  • Rod bearings at 106k mi
  • Turbo is stock "S" running an Autothority ECU U/G set at a safe 14 lbs boost
  • Fikse FM/10 17" 3 piece lightweight racing wheels running F 245-45-17 and R 275-40-17
  • Transmission refreshed with 944S2 ring and pinion gearing for 17" wheels
  • All suspension points replaced with Del Ray rubber bushings
  • Suspension is all Porsche Motorsport
  • Corner balanced
  • Camber adjustment on cam towers
  • New front springs
  • Rear suspension is coil over with new springs
  • Wheel bearings all replaced
  • Old school "Hot Lap" timer (I haven't used it. Not sure if it is functional)
  • Helmet cooling system (The ice chest needs replacement, original included)
  • Camcorder bracket
  • Front intake for intercooler replaced with lightweight Euro fiberglass unit to increase airflow
  • Brake cooling system
  • Includes lightweight rear fiberglass bumper (Not installed)
  • 4 dash cracks
  • Door speakers removed
  • Headliner removed
  • Sunroof welded

I ran the car in DE events last year and this year at Mosport, Calabogie and Tremblant (See video June 27, 2014) getting the car sorted. We off-loaded the car from the transporter, drove it right into the garage for a fluid change and track inspection. Next day we were on the track. I was blown away by the performance and handling combo over my recent 996 AND the AC blows cold!!!.  Here's what I've done since:

  • Harness upgrade (both sides) install dated Oct 2103
  • MOMO steering wheel
  • New Nitto NT 01's mounted on the Fikse's
  • Power steering rack and pressure line
  • Power steering pump
  • Timing belts, water pump and all front engine seals (including inners)
  • Clutch master cylinder
  • Clutch slave cylinder
  • Sach Stage III clutch kit
  • Flywheel lightened and balanced
  • Set of four 17" Cup wheels
  • New BFG g-Force Comp 2 (Mounted on the Cup wheels - Great for rain, cold days)
I believe the car was street legal in Florida. Wouldn't take much to return to street duty here in Ontario. Install horn control (Included), catalytic converter (Included), remove roll cage (replace with 944 rollbar).

Porsche Macan teaser reveals unique quad-LEDs

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

In truth, all-but-undisguised prototypes for the upcoming Porsche Macan compact crossover have been spotted galavanting all around the globe for some time now, but even the least-camouflaged examples have been caught wearing eyepatches covering their headlights and taillights. A dark new teaser image from Porsche clues us in to why that is - the baby Cayenne is getting unique quad-LED peepers up front.
Porsche has been hinting at lighting innovations in its production cars through recent concept reveals, including the stunning Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo showcar from last year's Paris Motor Show. The wagonized Panamera also featured four-point LED arrays up front, as well is in the rear, so it seems likely that this lighting will become a Porsche design signature going forward.
Powerpoint slides leaked from a recent dealer meeting suggest the Macan S will arrive packing a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6, while the Macan Turbo will boast a 3.6-liter force-fed unit, with both models receiving seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearboxes. Pricing is expected to range from $52,000 for the S model to $75,000 for the Turbo.

Techart Porsche 911 Targa 4S is a tuner's attempt at being tasteful

Thu, Mar 5 2015

We've not been terribly nice to the aftermarket tuners of the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. That's largely because they don't deserve our kindness. Techart, though, is not going to be the subject of derision, largely because aside from painting this Porsche 911 Targa a particularly lurid shade of yellow (and finding seat upholstery and trim to match), the changes aren't particularly offensive. Hell, paint it black, silver or red, and it'd just look like a more aggressive Porsche. That's largely because it is. Techart has behaved itself, fitting a brand new body kit featuring a new rear spoiler, diffuser, front splitter and side skirts, and replacing the much of the interior componentry with carbon fiber and aluminum components. The tuner doesn't mention the exact name of the shade used both inside and out on this Targa, although those with more conservative tastes will rest easy knowing that "stylistic harmony with standard or Techart individual paint is guaranteed." Techart's deft aesthetic treatment hides a similarly light tweaking under the sheetmetal. This car features a new exhaust system, complete with four staggered exhaust pipes that have been finished in black chrome. And that's it. There aren't 17 turbos or a new intake manifold crafted from free-range ivory. It's the same 400-horsepower flat six found in a normal Targa 4S. Techart has fitted its own springs, although it doesn't tell us how much (or even if) the ride has been lowered. 21-inch alloys round out the more practical changes.
