1987 Porsche 944 Turbo Coupe 2-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Rochester, Michigan, United States
I bought the car about 10 years ago and after a few years I
decided to upgrade the motor to increase the horsepower. Below is a partial list
of performance upgrades. It now has around 380 hp and can run at 20lbs boost
with 100 octane gas or 17 with standard premium. In case you are wondering what
it’s capable of, the car does better than 175 mph. Many of the parts were purchased
from Lindsey Racing, they are extremely knowledgeable in Porsche cars. http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/944.html I have never spent the time to upgrade anything on the
interior. The dashboard is cracked the driver’s seat has a tear on it as well.
The back seats are practically immaculate. There is absolutely no rust on this
car. The only issues with the car are the antilock brake light is
on and the readout for the air fuel ratio isn't working. This can still be
adjusted with a laptop through the Mafterburner software if needed. The airbag light is
on but it has been on since I owed the car, the guy I bought it from said he
disconnected the switch because of his son being in the car with him. Small drip from where the oil dipstick goes into engine block, must need an o-ring. I just bought my dream car a month ago so now I have 3 cars
and the Porsche has to go. This car is mechanically solid and corners awesome but with bad road conditions its a bit much to be a
daily driver in my opinion. Easily $8000 in upgrades but my loss is your gain, I just want it gone. Porsche planning new 911 Speedster as 550 tribute
Tue, 12 Nov 2013Some look at the emergence of a new Porsche 911 and see a car. But to Porsche engineers, it might as well be a reset button. Because every time a new 911 comes out, it sets off a tidal wave of new variants to follow, including convertibles, turbos, targas, GT3s... the works.
The next down the pipeline, though, could be one of the most desirable. That, according to German publication Auto Bild, will be a new 911 Speedster. When it arrives early in 2015, the special roadster will reportedly be limited to just 550 examples in tribute to the original 550 Spyder.
It'll reportedly have hidden door handles, a chopped-down windshield and a fabric top to be used only in case of emergency, manually disappearing below a carbon-fiber cowling. All of which makes it sounds as much like a bigger version of the Boxster Spyder as a successor to the last 911 Speedster (pictured above), and that's no bad thing at all.
Jaguar F-Type squares off against Porsche 911, Aston V8 Vantage with Chris Harris
Fri, 21 Jun 2013Chris Harris is back on the job, taking on really really difficult car questions like: Which enormously sexy and good-to-drive, high-performance convertible is the top of the heap? As one of the hottest cars in the luxury space right now, the Jaguar F-Type S is, of course, in on the action. Competition comes in the form of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster and the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. Sun-loving CEOs who despise test-driving need look no further.
Scroll on below for a fully featured (with a running time of more than 20 minutes) comparison video. Harris does his best to entertain - in a typically nitpicky and made-up-British-words fashion - and the moving pictures are lovely to look at. Kick back, pour a pint and get your weekend started off right.
2015 Porsche Cayenne spotted with facelift
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Although it's only been a few years since the current Porsche Cayenne was introduced, Porsche seems to be working on a midcycle update for its big SUV possibly in time to welcome the smaller Macan. As seen in these recent spy shots, it looks like the Cayenne will be getting a minor face- and butt-lift, but it's hard to say what other changes are in store or when the updated model will hit showrooms.
Up front, expect the Cayenne's new face to resemble what was just revealed on the 2014 Panamera, and we could also see this SUV using some of the new engines introduced on the Panamera including the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 or maybe even the E-Hybrid model. We're guessing that the new Cayenne could debut sometime next year likely for the 2015 model year. In the meantime, check out the gallery of spy shots above.
