As I understand it, I am the third owner. I've had this beautiful car since 2008. It is garaged year round and driven approximately 1,000 - 1,500 miles a year during the spring and summer only! The tires as you can see are brand new (less than 1,000 miles on them) and all 4 were changed at the same time. This car starts every single time you turn the key - She is in perfect running condition. She starts every single time without an issue and runs beautifully. New battery 2 years ago. Why am I selling her then? Growing up there were a few cars that I loved watching go by -- this one by far my favorite, but also the Datsun, Nova and Plymouth Fury... I want to be able to experience all of them, and can't afford to have them all at the same time, so at this point in my life, I feel I have to move on to the next one or I may not get to experience them all... The paint is new and brilliant (hopefully the pictures do the car justice) -- I can not find one imperfection in the body -- if there is a ding or dent, show me -- I keep this car immaculate. I use fully synthetic oil and 93 octane gas -- there may be a little oil drip but I was told that it was just the rubber seal and not worth addressing. The only thing I ask -- PLEASE IF YOU WIN THIS AUCTION TAKE REALLY GOOD CARE OF HER!!! Car is sold as-is with no guarantees -- but I'm really confident you will love her as much as I did!!!!!! Autocar pits Porsche 911 Turbo S against Formula 4 racer
Fri, 20 Jun 2014There is a long-running argument among performance car fans: power vs. weight. In one corner you get cars generally with small engines making modest numbers but able to corner like they are telepathic, and in the other there are big thumping mills that are rocketships in a straight line but lumber in the turns. Autocar takes an interesting look this continuum in a recent video pitting a 552-hp Porsche 911 Turbo S against a 185-hp Formula 4 racecar. It hopes to find whether the Porsche's huge power advantage is enough to defeat the better grip and aero offered by the nimble racer.
There's no doubt that the Porsche is an utterly fantastic road car. The 911 Turbo looks mean with all of those intakes to suck in cool air, and it backs up the posture with huge amounts of grip available thanks to its all-wheel drive-system. However, at 3,538 pounds, it's a bit of a porker compared to the 1,135-pound Formula 4 car. The open-wheel car boasts just a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder from Ford and a six-speed sequential-manual gearbox, but it has loads of downforce to make up for it.
It shouldn't be a surprise that the formula car wins in the corners. After all, that's what it's made for. Mon, May 11 2015Think you know what "auto erotic" means? Think again. Because one man in Thailand has redefined the term. Caught on security camera footage this guy lurks into a garage, looks over both shoulders, evidently misses the camera, drops trou and has his way with a Porsche Boxster. When the tailpipe proved too hot (or otherwise inhospitable), he moves up to the radiator grille and – ahem – finishes up there. Sadly this isn't even the first time we've come across this particular perversion. We'd urge caution before viewing the video, not only because it's not suitable for a workplace environment, but because once you see it, you're bound to repeatedly blurt out, "Why, man!? Why?"
Porsche Cayenne diesel V8 may not be long for this world
Fri, Jan 23 2015Goodbye, Porsche Cayenne V8 Diesel. We hardly knew ye. Nor did the Europeans, apparently. Porsche's V8 oil burner is still on the European model list for the Cayenne SUV, but the mill won't go through the likely pricey process of being updated to adhere to new and stricter European emissions standards, Just-Auto says. A Porsche spokesman confirmed to the publication that it's a fairly complicated process to update the diesel V8 to be so-called "Euro-6 compliant." With Cayenne diesels selling in relatively low volumes anyways, the German automaker might just dump the V8 diesel altogether, as it'd be quite cost-ineffective to make the necessary upgrades. The V8 diesel was a 4.1-liter engine that delivered 385 horsepower in addition to what sounds like a little too much exhaust for European clean-air regulators. While that's a pretty powerful profile, the most recent gas-powered V8 for the Cayenne delivers about 570 horsepower, so the diesel engine won't likely be missed by European auto enthusiasts. Besides, there's still the V6 diesel that's also sold in the US. That's a 4,800-pound beast that moves from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about seven seconds and gets a relatively (for diesels) modest 20 miles per gallon city.
