1983 Porsche 944.  104k
Interior is in GEAT shape for a car this old, exterior of car is solid. White with black leather interior. The enginge is STRONG and sounds like a race car. I've been driving it and it's very reliable, sporty, and an eye turner. 4 cylinder, great on gas with plenty of get-up-n-go! 5 speed, AC blows cold, but could use a charge.
I drove it to Myrtle Beach and back a month ago, Estimated 34 mpg, it didn't burn an ounce of oil and the temp. gauge stayed cool.
New battery, plugs, coil, oil filter housing gasket, DMI Relay, Computer, Crank Sensor and Crank Sensor Housing
I am selling it because I need a vehicle that is more practical for a family of five. Wife was NOT happy with this purchase!
The price reflects the following issues:
The passenger side window does not work (previous owner unhooked a bunch of stuff, so it could be a bad connection)
Rear windshield wiper does not work (again, could be disconnected)
Odometer was unhooked before when previous owner was trying to fix relay issue. My added miles brings it to an estimated 104k
Passenger side front fender skirt damaged (looks like someone used a lift in the wrong spot) SEE PICTURE
Battery tray has a hole in it and water drips in when it rains (common issue with these cars, just needs to be fiberglassed)
Interior leather is in great shape, but dashboard is cracked - Not terrible though
No radio, but I have one if you want it.  The car has a slight hessitation and I was thinking Fuel Filter or Fuel Injection System needs to be cleaned out.

This is a 1983 sports car, please don't expect to get a flawless 944 for this price. This ENGINE IS STRONG, it handles great, and runs like a champ. Well worth the price I am asking.

Petrolicious explores long-term living with Porsche's 914/6

Thu, 15 May 2014

After its last video starred none other than the spectacular Ferrari 250 GTO, where was there for the video team at Petrolicious to go? Certainly, in the realm of classics, there are only a few other vehicles that can match the badge and pedigree of the ultra-rare Ferrari. Maybe a Jaguar D-Type or an Aston Martin DBR1? No, this latest video doesn't star either of those British icons. It stars an oft-misunderstood, occasionally derided entry from Germany's most sporting manufacturer - Porsche.
Yes, we've gone from a Ferrari 250 GTO to a Porsche 914/6. As is often the case with Petrolicious, though, the story told about the car by its owner are often more important than the make or model of car being highlighted. That's exactly the case here, as Jack Griffin talks about the 38 years he's spent with this particular Porsche.
Having been born into the Volkswagen fold and introduced to Porsche in the best way possible - behind the wheel of a 356 - Griffin has some interesting stories (including his attempt at running the 12 Hours of Sebring), and he knows a fair bit about some of the 914's attributes.

Porsche Macan spied, all lit up and dodging flurries

Thu, 17 Jan 2013

We've seen the upcoming Porsche Macan testing on surface roads and even on the Nürburgring, but here we have our first spy shots showing a disguised prototype doing some winter testing in snowy conditions. Still obscured by plenty of camouflage attempting to mimic its larger Cayenne sibling, we still can't get a clear look at what the Macan's face and rump are going to look like, although it does appear that some details for the front lighting are starting to emerge.
Below the headlights, those are obviously decals trying to look like turn signal lenses, but it appears that there is still some sort of lighting being hidden judging by the small circles cut into the camo. Lower in the fascia, we can also see there are LED running lights not revealed on past prototypes. The entire rear end of this Macan prototype still appears to be tacked-on camo, but the side view appears to be in production form save for the poorly disguised rear quarter windows.
As we've seen in the past, Porsche engineers are still testing the Macan alongside the Audi Q5 with which it shares its platform. There has been no word as to when we could expect to see the Macan in production or concept form, but we'd have to guess that this compact crossover is getting ready to shed its camo very soon.

Parents of terminally ill child sue after son dies following make-a-wish-style ride

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

Some stories are so sad and depressing, they make you want to go back to bed and pull the covers over your head. This is one such story. 14-year-old Raphael Wittman was suffering from an unspecified form of terminal cancer when he was invited by the children's cancer charity Kinder Krebs Hilfe to a charity drive organized by Porsche Forum Austria. During the drive, the Porsche Boxster Wittman was riding in was involved in a head-on collision. Both of his legs were broken and he bit off his tongue in the wreck. He died seven weeks later, in a Vienna hospital. Now, his father is suing the charity, claiming that the accident robbed his son of the will to live.
"The accident set off a chain of events starting with the doctors putting him on new medication for the cancer he had. He was always a fighter, but suddenly he was saying that he was not going to fight any more," Franz Wittman told Austria's Kurier, according to The Guardian. "We would have had a wonderful last time together [on vacation] but it never happened because of the accident."
Father and son were originally planning to go to Tenerife to spend time together, although those plans were cancelled following the accident.
