Porsche 930 (911 Turbo) Street Track Race Project on 2040-cars

Year:1982 Mileage:32000
Location:

Candia, New Hampshire, United States

Candia, New Hampshire, United States

This car is a 1982 Porsche 930 (911 Turbo). Actual VIN is WPUZZZ93ZCSU00719, being a euro car ebay does not recognize this.  I have owned this car for many years and have been building it into a hot rod street or track/race car.  Car has been stored indoors for last 12+ years and only has 32k miles. Car is a real 930 not a converted 911.
Car was purchased as a theft recovery and most bodywork had been stripped. Car was not hit or crashed and is totally rust free.  Hood, tail, bumpers, doors, front fenders and boxed rockers have all been replaced with fiberglass bodywork from GT Racing- This should reduce the weight of the car significantly.  I have 2 wings for the car, the standard 3.8 wing that fits the tail and an evo wing. Sunroof has been lightened and welded in place. There is a full roll cage welded in. Interior is quite sparce with rs door panels, Momo race seats and steering wheel.  Car has a cheap Arena reddish paintjob.
The suspension is all geared towards track use. Bushing have been replaced with roller bearings, car rests on RSR coilovers with 350/550 lb. springs, rear subframe area has been substantially reinforced.  Sway bars are Kokeln through the body 22mm and I also have 935 rear spring plates- Both these items are brand new never installed. The wheels on this car are Kinesis 9" and 11" by 17" with correct 930 spacing.  Front brakes are 928S4 calipers (still need adapters) with the front 930 calipers moved to the rear, goodrich stainless brake lines and 2 new sets of Performance Friction 97 compound race pads.
The drivetrain is where the bulk of the money has been spent on this car and has been built to run EFI.   Motor is 3.3 liters with JE pistons raising compression to 8:1.  CMW billet cylinder heads are twin plug with large valves and D shaped exhaust ports. Heads and cylinders are sealed using copper "flame rings".Cams are 964 grind. ARP connecting rod bolts and head studs. 3.2 intake, real 934 headers, Garrett t36 turbo, and tial wastegate.  Everything in motor was balanced and polished  and all new bearings and gaskets were used.  The intercooler and associated plumbing still needs to be built for this car.  This will have to be custom if using the 934 headers as they exit in the center of the car.  I have the computer (Electromotive tec3r), wideband O2, 72 lb. injectors etc which still need to be hooked up and tuned as well.
This car has been built to be street legal- but only just- really will shine at track events- should be sub 2400 lbs. and make an honest 500+ hp at the wheels.  Transmission is a 4-speed LSD with a lightweight flywheel and stage II clutch.
So much has been done to this car that I'm sure I havent listed it all.  Any questions please call John @ 6O3 37O-O631.  Serious buyers are encouraged to inspect car.  A $500 deposit will be required within 24 hrs of  winning bid/auction end.  Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer although I will assist in any way I can- this includes worldwide.  Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to stop the auction if car is sold- auction will not be stopped once car hits the reserve price.
Thanks for looking

Gary Cooper's 1935 Duesenberg SSJ fetches record price at Pebble Beach

Mon, Aug 27 2018

The 1935 Duesenberg SSJ formerly owned by Gary Cooper sold for a jaw-dropping $22 million over the weekend at the Gooding & Co. Pebble Beach auction, setting a record for the most valuable pre-war car ever sold at auction. It also appears to have become the most expensive American collector car ever sold at auction, eclipsing the very first Shelby Cobra ever made, which sold for $13.75 million in 2016. The Duesenberg was also the lone American-made entrant in the list of top 10 sellers, which was crowded with the names Ferrari and Porsche. You have to go all the way down the list to No. 21 to find the next American car: a 1930 Packard 734 Speedster Phaeton, which sold for a mere $1.127 million. All told, Gooding & Co. said it realized more than $116.5 million in auction sales over the weekend, with a whopping 25 cars sold for north of $1 million, an 84 percent sales rate and an average transaction price of $947,174. Clearly this is how the other half 1 percent lives. Gooding & Co. said there were five world-record sales at the auction. Joining the Duesenberg were a 1955 Ferrari 500 Mondial Series II, which sold for $5.005 million; a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France Berlinetta, $6.6 million; a 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC Speciale, $3.41 million; and a one-of-two 1966 Ferrari Dino Berlinetta GT, $3.08 million. Oh, and that 1969 Ford Bronco test vehicle we told you about? The one that was rebadged by Holman & Moody as a Bronco Hunter? It sold for $121,000, which was well below the expected range of $180,000 to $220,000. Perhaps it was the presence of all those gorgeous Porsche Spyders and Ferraris that meant collectors weren't interested in boxy, utilitarian off-roaders. View 24 Photos Gooding and Co. had expected the convertible Duesenberg coupe to go for more than $10 million. It was one of only two of its kind built by Duesenberg — the other having gone to Clark Gable — with a specially shortened, 125-inch wheelbase and a supercharged straight-eight with double overhead cams, able to produce around 400 horsepower and a top speed of 140 miles per hour. It features a lightweight open-roadster bobtail body produced by LaGrande out of Connersville, Ind. The car was also owned at one point by race driver Briggs Cunningham.

Porsche rolls out new 919 Hybrid at racing gala

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

That Porsche is returning to Le Mans next year with a top-tier LMP1 entry is no news - we've known that for some time. We've even seen pictures of the car in question undergoing testing at various racetracks across Europe, been told who'll be driving it and given some basic parameters of what will make it go. We just haven't known what to call it, but now we do.
In detailing its full endurance racing program for next year at its Night of Champions in Weissach, Porsche has revealed that its new LMP1 racecar will be called the 919 Hybrid. So, something like the 918 Spyder, only one faster. With a four-cylinder engine and a pair of electric motors, the 919 Hybrid will be taking on the top class at Le Mans next year, with a compelling roster of drivers on the docket: along with Mark Webber, Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Neel Jani, Porsche has assigned its works driver Marc Lieb and F1 test driver Brendon Hartley to the effort. But that's not all Porsche has in store.
The factory is also supporting teams that will campaign the 911 RSR in the FIA World Endurance Championship as well as the United SportsCar Championship here in the US, taking Porsche off the pit wall and right in the race seat for next year as part of a comprehensive new racing program, details of which you can read in the press release below.

Porsche expects to hit 200k sales target 3 years early

Fri, Jan 9 2015

When Porsche launched the Cayenne, enthusiasts and purists – in between fits of rage – rationalized the SUVs existence by imagining that the money it brought in would guarantee the company's continued ability to produce the many beloved versions of its 911. The same was said when the Panamera arrived, and again when the Macan was unveiled. What probably wasn't imagined when these three more mainstream vehicles joined the Porsche catalog, was how dramatic an impact they'd have on the company's sales figures. The company expects 2015 to be a banner year, as it aims to hit a 200,000-unit sales goal three years ahead of schedule. Porsche sold nearly 190,000 units in 2014, a gain of 17 percent over 2013, while its year-over-year sales for December were up 39 percent. Considering Porsche made these gains before the full impact of the new Macan could be felt, it's no wonder the company is so keen on 2015. Porsche has already moved 45,000 Macans, which would be impressive on its own, were it not for the way the CUV is elevating the brand. According to a report from Reuters, two-thirds of the company's Macan deliveries have been to first-time Porsche customers. Considering these two facts, it will be extremely interesting to see the impact Porsche's newest model has on its sales over a full calendar year.
