--  I have owned the car for the last six years and it’s by far my favorite of my collection – I bought the car after a gentleman in Atlanta had just got done having the Motor and Transmission completely rebuilt – It had 90,000 miles at that stage – He gave me all the receipts and work orders from the Certified Mechanic that did the work --- I went down to Atlanta and meet with both the owner and the Mechanic and bought the car on the spot --- The issue is my Ex-wife burned all the receipts for that portion of the work along with a few other of my collectable car documents  - The Guy had it painted and they did a good thorough  Job – Over the years it has chips and is a 6 out 10

I did the following and have all the Receipts

  • New Carpets and Seats front and Back

  • Put New Air Conditioning Pump On

  • New Gas Tank

  • New Front Windshield

  • New Electrical wiring

  • Put Original Fuchs Wheels Back On

  • New Dunlop Tires all 4

  • Put a Hands free Bluetooth Stereo In it

  • Complete Break Job – Rotors and Pads all 4

  • Rebuilt the Turbo

  • New Stereo Antenna

This car runs 100% perfect and is a rocket ship and now has 100,000 miles on it. This is an 8 out 10 and everything works including the clock. You’re welcome to have me take it to any Mechanic of your choice in or Around Palatine Illinois --- You’re also welcome to talk to the Mechanic that has taken care of all my cars for years – I will ship anywhere in the world

Porsche undecided on new 911 GT2 [w/poll]

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Fans of hardcore 911s had it pretty good with the last 997 generation. There was the GT3, GT3 RS, GT3 RS 4.0, GT2 and GT2 RS (pictured above). Each one was faster, more powerful and more expensive than the one below it, but what they all shared was what Porsche purists love most: rear engine, rear drive, a manual transmission and little else.
So far with the new 991, Porsche has only released a GT3 version. Sure, there have been other models, but they're all decidedly more luxurious and less performance-focused. And as impressive a machine as the new GT3 is, it has run the risk of alienating some of its most ardent fanatics with technological interference in the form of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and four-wheel steering. So what those purists have really been looking forward to is a more hardcore GT3 RS or new GT2. But those may not be coming so quickly.
Speaking with 911 project chief August Achleitner, Car and Driver reports that a new GT2 is anything but a foregone conclusion. The reasons may be partially political, but could be technical in nature as well: with 560 horsepower driving all four wheels, the new 911 Turbo S runs the 0-60 in less than three seconds. Give it more power but less traction, as Porsche has done with past GT2s, and you may not end up seeing an actual improvement in performance. A GT2 that's slower than the Turbo S would be difficult to explain.

Leno buys classic Porsche 356 Carrera 2, seeks out and finds perfect expert for help

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

The world of collector cars is fairly tight-knit when you get down to individual models. Need proof? Just take a look at this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. The subject is a gorgeous 1963 Porsche 356 Carrera 2. Jay, being known as quite a collector, got a call from someone looking to sell. While doing his due diligence and looking for a 356 expert to go over the car with him, he came across John Willhoit.
Where the story gets weird is when Leno is asked the license plate number - it turns out that Willhoit, owner of Willhoit Restorations, had restored the exact same car more than 30 years prior. He then sold it to the same person that was looking to give it to Leno. What follows is a truly interesting video on the little quirks of the 356, along with Willhoit's personal history on a car he hadn't seen since 1976.
This is a bit more mechanically detailed than Leno's normal videos, but it's on a very interesting subject. Take a look below for the entire film.

LaFerrari, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and Agera R take to Assen

Tue, 10 Jun 2014

It's the show-down (sort of) we've all been waiting for. The battle of the hybrid hypercars from the performance powerhouses of Europe: Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. No one publication has managed to get their hands on all three just yet, but this video has - and with a Koenigsegg Agera R thrown in for good measure.
The video was shot by our (unrelated) Dutch compatriots at Autoblog.nl at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. The track has played host to Champ Cars and all manner of racing bikes, but this could be the ultimate grid of actual production machinery that's ever lined up behind its start/finish line. Shame the weather was rainy and this unsurpassed array of supercars weren't really racing - more showing off for the crowds. But what a show it was. Scope out the footage in the video below.
