1989 Porsche 928 S-4 on 2040-cars
Haymarket, Virginia, United States
1989 Porsche 928S4. White w/ Dark Navy Blue leather. Automatic. 96,600 Miles.
Exterior is in great condition. The paint looks very nice and there is no damage anywhere on the car. The only flaw is a small dent by the tail light that can be taken out by any paintless dent removal company. The navy blue interior is in real nice condition. Seats are spotless, no rips or tears. Steering wheel, carpets, interior trim pieces, door panels are all in great condition. Upper dash has the usual 928 cracks, but a nice dash cover (or carpet) would fix that. I have a custom fit carpet cover on the dash currently and it looks real nice. I also have custom $300 floor mats that were made and will include with the purchase (not shown in pics). Upgraded head unit to a Clarion AM / FM / CD / IPOD w/Cable. The original wire antenna is still mounted on the roof. Speakers are new Pioneer 6 1/2" in the rear and Polks 4 1/4" up front. The trim pieces are all good. The controls are standard S4. Heating and air controls, vent, climate control sensor, stereo, 24 hour clock, ash tray, shift control, armrest/storage, window controls, moon roof, and rear windshield wiper controls. Everything works, but the AC will likely need a charge. Has front and rear A/C. There is nothing mechanically wrong with the Porsche. Engine and transmission are in great shape and sound awesome. Mobil 1 Synthetic religiously. Has Stainless Steel X-Pipe + Rear Muffler Bypass = 358 HP. This 928 has a distinct sound like no other. I also have the original Exhaust Manifold and Muffler that goes with the vehicle. Both are in great condition. Both front doors are Dynamatted, Front floor mats have been backed by 3/8" neoprene. Rear wheel wells (where the 6 1/2" speakers reside) have been filled with foam. Rear trunk has also been padded with 3/8" neoprene. Cabin was quieted down for the X-pipe & RMB. The battery/spare tire compartment is clean. The toolbox is complete. The spare is there. The rear seats fold down perfectly and the seat backs (Carpet) are in great shape. The vinyl panels in the rear compartment are in good condition but warped a little from the sun -- Every 928 has this problem. The entire ceiling/headliner is in good shape.. The moon roof works most of the time. I have a feeling it is the switch on the center console. I purchased extra switches, but never go around to it. Front and rear visors all work and are in great condition. The wheels are factory 928 S4. Polished wheels perfectly balanced and true. The Tires are Kumho Ecsta ASX. Fronts are 225-50R-16, Rears are 245-50R-16. The tread life is excellent on these tires. The oversized calipers brake this car very well. Carbon Fiber Brace under the hood. Replaced the stock aluminum one. This car has always been adult owned. Never abused and I always keep it garaged. I bought it as a collectible, have owned it for 3 1/2 years and only take it on the occasional Sunday drive. The timing belt and water pump were done shortly before I bought it and I have only put a couple hundred miles on it since I purchased. Overall, a beautiful example with only minor little things to fix (which are typical on ALL 928's). Not many nice & clean examples left! Car is listed locally and auction will end if a local deal is made, or acceptable offer is received through Ebay. Please feel free to email me with any questions. |

For some of us that day can't come soon enough, and in honor of Earth Day we've put together a list of our favorite car giveaways so you can save some green while being green. Win a 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S and $20,000 - Enter Here If there’s one thing Porsche is good at, itÂ’s making fast, beautiful cars, and the Taycan Turbo S is no exception. Making 750 horsepower, 774 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 161 miles per hour, punching the accelerator will surely throw you back in your seat. In fact, its 0-60 time of 2.6 seconds matches that of the quickest Porsche 911 ever made, the Turbo S. The difference between this Taycan Turbo S and that 911 Turbo S, of course, is that the only reason youÂ’ll ever need to stop off at a gas station is to fill up on snacks. That and the fact the Taycan doesn't actually have a turbo anywhere in the car. We wouldnÂ’t be reaching for a bag of FlaminÂ’ Hot Cheetos, though, because this incredibly comfortable leather interior is immaculate, and weÂ’d hope to keep it that way. Enter here for a chance to win this prize worth $220,000. Win a Himalaya Land Rover Defender 110 EV and $20,000 - Enter Here The Land Rover Defender is an icon: an intense, luxurious off-roader that turns heads and can crawl up nearly anything. The problem? For the past 20+ years it hasn't been available in the United States and it's never been what youÂ’d call environmentally friendly. But this Defender is different. ItÂ’s vintage, restored by Himalaya and itÂ’s all-electric. At 275 horsepower, you wonÂ’t be thrown back in your seat, but the 406 lb-ft of torque helps make this an incredibly capable rock crawler.
Porsche patent sketches show removable headrest wind deflector
Mon, 21 Oct 2013While driving around in a convertible might seem glamorous, ask anyone with long hair and they'll likely tell you how it really is: the wind buffets, your hair goes everywhere and it's anything but glamorous. That's why you see so many convertibles driving with their tops up, their windows up or wind deflectors in place. But Porsche is apparently preparing to kick it up to the next level.
These patent drawings have leaked out, demonstrating what appears to be some new kind of wind-deflecting device being developed by Porsche. The mechanism is apparently fitted to the headrest itself and designed to keep the wind buffeting specifically around the head down to a minimum while allowing the car's occupants to enjoy the top-down driving experience.
No word on when it might hit the market, but we won't be surprised to see this kind of device appear on a future version of the Boxster or 911 Cabriolet. But nowhere else: despite the apparent leak, the patent drawings suggest that Porsche will be keeping this technology proprietary. Whether sister brands like Volkswagen, Bentley or Lamborghini will get their hands on it remains to be seen.
Porsche already considering even more hardcore Cayman GT4 RS?
Fri, Mar 6 2015We're not sure what kind of person would look at the new Porsche Cayman GT4 and say "that's not enough," but we're sure they're out there. And to satisfy just such a customer, Porsche could very well offer a GT4 RS version in the future. "This is just the beginning of the era. I would be interested in doing a Cayman GT4 RS version, but at the moment we didn't even talk about such a thing. If the customers call for something like this we could think about it." These are the words of Andreas Preuninger, speaking with Evo at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show this week. As head of Porsche's GT line, Preuninger and his team are responsible for creating hardcore track models like the 911 GT3, the new 911 GT3 RS and – for the first time – the new Cayman GT4. Clearly buoyed by the early success of the GT4, Prenuninger is already looking towards the next step. Considering that the existing model already packs a 3.8-liter flat six with 385 horsepower and the manual transmissions so many GT3 fans miss, we're not sure how much more they could get out of the Cayman – but we'll sure enjoy watching them try.
