i have my personal car for sale. This 928 s4 has had everthing done and is a turn key car there are no suprises or any more things left to due This car is just wonderful to drive show or just use as a car. everthing is so nice on it and is a pleasure to drive on long or short trips. There is nothing to hide on this 928. I just want a convertable . I have enjoyed owning this car. It has always been garaged and it shows.

All the work was completed between febuary to may of 20013. All the parts were gotten from 928 motorsports. The list is long but here is what was done

Engine

waterpump timingbelt All pulley drive belts, thormestat, alumium raditor, alumium coolant bottle fuel filter top end of engine was resealed new coolant lof. The engine runs so well. there are no engine modifications done. nothing to be done. it just runs great and is worry free for the years to come.

transmission

Was removed and resealed. new filter was installed. the diff was drained and refilled. the transmission does not slipp and has a very firm shift between gears. The drivetrain is in perfect condition and does not leak

Brakes

flushed with ate fluid. New zimmerman oem rotors and pbr pads. the abs works great with no problems

Suspension

The suspension was completle rebuilt with all new parts. Koni shocks Hypercoil springs 500/350 spring rates. the mountings and caps bearings are all new and have been upgrades. Again all parts came from 928 motosports. The car has been lowered but is at a great street height. The handeling is superbe and the ride is not overly stiff to the point where it is no fun. The 928 has a great under pinnings so the frame absorbes the bumps very well

Wheel

new 17 inch trubo twist rims with Hankook tires RS-3 The tires only have about 800 miles on them. the original wheels come with the car and have posished rims with some very nice high performance tires mounted. The tires have about 80% tread left. this is the second set. the wheels have at nice silver oem center caps.

All the electrics work well including the power mirrors, windows sunroof rear trunk release power seats. the instrument cluster was rebuilt and gives no problems. The stereo was replaced with a kenwood head alpine amp and new alpine speakers. The stereo sounds nice.

A/C rebuilt the compressor is in great condition. All the lines are leak free and it was converted over to 134. The a/c blows out at 40 degrees. thats cold for 134. The rear a/c works great.

Paint

The car has its factory paint which is in great condition. there is one spot on the passengers fender where the paint is getting thin but i did not want to repaint and to due it well would runion the original paint. Both bumper covers were just repainted and look great. I would rait the paint at a 8 out of 10.

All parts on this car show well and this 928 is just a pleasure to drive. I wanted a truble free porsche with the old school design but my cars must all handle well and be up to date with service. This is a great 928 without any stories and is in need of nothing. My asking price is far less than what was spent to put this car into this conditions. I know that the mechanicles are very strong on this example and the car shows very well. The car has never been city driven and it shows. There are a couple of small stone chips on the hood but that is to be expected from a car of this age.

My wife does not like the way i drive the car and has asked me to sell it and get somthing else. i know i know but hay that is part of being married. so i guess no more 160 mph supercars. Well i am up to trading for a convertable or an outright sale on this car. I am not a dealer in any way shape or form.

Please only bid if you are going to buy the car.

1974 Porsche 914 EV conversion still looks good

Thu, Jan 23 2014

Looking through the pages of the EV Album is a great way to learn about the breadth and depth of the electric vehicle community. Branching well beyond the three dozen or so electric vehicles that are currently sold by major automakers in the US, EV Album showcases lots of DIY conversions of all types. A 1995 Fiat Cinquecento? Check. A 1992 Kewet Eljet 2? No problem. The site's old-fashioned looks (it was started in 1997) show just how long people have been passionate about their EVs. Many of the cars are throwbacks to a previous time and we found a prime example of that, a converted 1974 Porsche 914 (EV Album page here) this week. Now powered by a Prestolite MTC4001 Series Wound DC motor and some flooded nickel-cadmium batteries, the 914 has a top speed of 80 miles per hour and a range of 35 miles. But only "if you are taking it easy," of course. The motor has a peak output of 60 horsepower and 25 hp continuous. Converted over 600 hours (!) to electric power at a cost of $10,000, it is now owned by Charlie Garlow of Maryland. The car is on display at the Washington Auto Show this week and serves as a great reminder of what most EV drivers used to have to do to drive emissions free. Porsche planning Cayman GT4, 700-hp Turbo S e-Hybrids

Fri, May 9 2014

The old wisdom when it came to the Porsche lineup was that the Boxster and Cayman needed to be kept in line so as not to encroach on even the lower end of the 911 range. But with the latest versions of the compact roadster and coupe, that logic has gone out the window. Especially with the introduction of the latest GTS models (pictured above). But that's not the end of the story. According to Motor Trend, Porsche is working on an even more powerful version of the Cayman that could carry the GT4 badge, positioning itself along the same lines as the 911 GT3 and GT2 – only, you know, smaller. Although our sources at Porsche would, predictably, neither confirm nor deny the report, MT has it that power could come from either a turbo-four or a more powerful flat-six, mated to the beefed-up DCT from the latest 911 GT3. A similar version of the Boxster could bring back the RS Spyder designation. That's not all Porsche is said to have in store, though. Based on the engineering that went into the 918 Spyder, Porsche could roll out a new range-topping model for the 911, Panamera and maybe even the Cayenne, packing a version of the 918's PHEV powertrain. Slotting in above the existing Turbo S variants of each model line, the new flagship models could pack 700 horsepower or more and be designated e-Hybrid in similar fashion as the 918.

What is the fastest car in the world in 2024?

Sat, Jun 15 2024

It wasn't that long ago that the notion of reaching 200 miles per hour in a car, on a road, seemed basically impossible. As you likely know by now, that time has passed. And once that threshold was crossed, the automotive world immediately began eying the next triple-digit benchmark: 300 miles per hour. It may have taken a little while, but the 300-mph line has been crossed, and some cars have moved well past that seemingly insane speed number. While some of these speeds have been achieved in simulations (including the fastest car listed below), there's little doubt that a driver with nerves of steel and a heavy right foot could indeed push several automobiles up to 300 miles per hour and beyond. Interestingly, it’s not just one car or automaker in the 300-mph club, as a handful of models have earned a place (sometimes claimed but not yet demonstrated) on the leaderboard. The fastest car in the world is: Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut (330 MPH) That title goes to the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, which recorded a staggering 330 mph top speed earlier in 2023. The carÂ’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 lays down 1,600 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, which plays a significant role in delivering that speed, but KoenigseggÂ’s engineers have given the car a lot more than mind-blowing power. The Jesko Absolut has a super-slippery 0.278 drag coefficient and a nine-speed transmission that shifts so quickly itÂ’s almost imperceptible. Koenigsegg calls it a Light Speed Transmission (LST), saying its shifts happen at almost light speed. While that might be a slight exaggeration, the gearbox is impressive, bringing several wet multi-disc clutches and a super lightweight construction. As Koenigsegg says, "the Jesko Absolut is destined to achieve higher, more extraordinary speeds than any Koenigsegg or any other fully homologated car before it." How expensive is the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut? If you were reading that and wondering how much the fastest car in the world costs, the price tag is just another dizzying number on the Jesko Absolut's spec sheet. All 125 Absolut cars offered sold out at a price of almost $3 million. Of course, being able to afford the Koenigsegg is just the first step in realizing its full potential. There are very few places on the map that can support a 300-plus-mph speed run, and the locations that do are not conveniently located.
