1987 Porsche 928 S4 - 5 Speed - Lsd - Rare on 2040-cars
Burlington, Ontario, Canada
Up for sale is my very rare 1987 Porsche 928 S4, 5 speed with LSD and sport seats. It is 1 of 12 1987 928's sold in Canada with a manual transmission, limited slip differential and sport seats, 1 of 79 worldwide with these options for 1987. The car is also an early 1987 with the hinged rear wing. All 87's had the squirter block, knock sensors etc., great for Supercharging and the motor is ready.
I'm the third owner of the car, I purchased it from the second owner who purchased it from his neighbor after he passed away in 2004. The car has been meticulously cared for since day 1, including all service records to new, every tank of gas recorded in a little log book, along with dates that it went into winter storage etc. The car is in showroom condition from head to toe. The interior has been so well cared for by each owner that there is no excessive wear, even on the seat bolsters. The wheels are original anodized finish with new Potenza RE-11's. This past winter I refreshed the motor from top to bottom, new timing belt, water pump, seals, motor mounts etc. While the motor was apart I had everything professionally powder coated. Brand new brakes all around as well. And the list goes on, far too much to list here. The car is stock except for the following: -Cat delete H-pipe -Rear Muffler Bypass -Powersport drilled and slotted brake rotors -Audi timing belt tensioner (maintenance free) -Blaupunkt BT 420 head unit -Raised center arm rest cover -Clear bra on hood and top of front bumper (just installed in June) Also included are the following stock parts: -Stock cat with original o2 sensor -Rear muffler -Air pump -Original timing belt tensioner -Stock audio amplifier -Stock center armrest lid The car is 100% complete with the original tool kit, wheel locks, belts, flat tire bag, spare tire & jack, sunroof crank, all manuals and warranty book etc. Even the original salesman's business card. The first owner had the bumpers and sides of the car painted (1997) due to light scratches/dings from use. To be honest you can hardly tell, many people ask me if the paint is original since it looks so good. I just gave it some clay and wax and it looks spectacular. This car could sit in any showroom and feel right at home. Please message me for more info, I have hundreds of pictures of the work I have done, clean car fax in hand, a detailed blog during my owner ship, scans of the log book etc. You will not find another 87 5spd in this condition or with the incredibly detailed history. Values are starting to climb on pristine examples as they are getting harder to find. US buyers, this car is admissible to the US, and will be delivered with the required dealer letter from Porsche. For more information please contact your local DMV and or Customs Agency. I can deliver the car to the Buffalo border if necessary. PPI's welcomed, at buyers expense. FYI the car has 187xxx km's or 117xxx k miles on the clock. Thanks for looking |

Porsche reveals new Panamera Turbo S ahead of Tokyo debut
Thu, 31 Oct 2013For many buyers in the market for a luxury sports sedan, style is as important as performance. But while the Porsche Panamera undoubtedly delivers in the latter category, it falls somewhat short in the former. Porsche went to some lengths (if not quite far enough for some tastes) to improve its four-door model's visual appeal with the facelift revealed earlier this year, but now it's time to up the performance game with the new Panamera Turbo S.
Set to be revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show in just a few weeks from now, the new top-tier Panamera benefits from several key upgrades over the existing Turbo and the pre-facelift Turbo S. For one, its 4.8-liter twin-turbo V8 now produces 570 horsepower (up from 520 in the new Turbo and 550 in the old Turbo S and the latest Cayenne Turbo S) and 553 pound-feet of torque (up from the current Turbo's 516 but the same as the previous model). Despite the power boost, however, Porsche is quoting the same 3.6-second 0-60 time for the new Panamera Turbo S as it did for the previous one - but then that hardly required improvement in the first place. Top speed, however, is up to 192 miles per Autobahn-blurring hour, two mph faster than the previous model.
Other features include carbon-ceramic brakes (hopefully with more durable bolts than sister companies Lamborghini and Bentley have been using) packed inside the wheels from the 911 Turbo and an exclusive shade of greige called Palladium. And for the first time, customers will be able to order this top-spec model in long-wheelbase Executive trim. But don't expect it to come cheap: MSRP (before delivery and options) is quoted at $180,300 for the standard wheelbase and $200,500 for the stretched model. That's two and a half times the price of a base Panamera, and makes the new Panamera Turbo S Executive both the most expensive and most powerful Porsche your can buy this side of a 918 Spyder. Haven't passed out yet? There's more to digest in the press release, so head on down below to take it all in.
Porsche 911 GT spied streaking at the Nurburgring
Mon, Jul 20 2015At any given moment, you can bet that Porsche is testing some new version of the 911. When we see those prototypes undergoing testing, they're typically camouflaged, at least in part, to keep us from seeing what Zuffenhausen (or Weissach) is up to. But this particular example is completely undisguised. So what are we looking at, exactly? Well, for starters, it's likely the upcoming facelifted version of the current 911. The current 991 generation has been on the market now for four years, so the 991.2 (or 991.5, perhaps?) will likely be tasked with keeping Porsche's iconic sports car current for several more years to come. This version can be seen with front air intakes similar to those on the Cayman GT4, along with updated headlights, LED strips, new door handles, ventilated rear engine cover, reprofiled rear bumper, fresh taillights, and a new exhaust. The far bigger development is that the updated 911 is expected to ditch natural aspiration in favor of downsized turbocharged engines across almost the entire range – not just in the 911 Turbo. This particular version we see here, however, could be one of the few hold-outs for atmospheric pressure. That's because what we're looking at could be the upcoming back-to-basics version being prepared by the GT division – the same outfit responsible for the 911 GT3, GT3 RS, and Cayman GT4. Possibly adopting the name GT5, this new version of the 911 is anticipated to be the purist's choice: naturally aspirated flat-six, three-pedal manual transmission, skinny tires, no frills. This undisguised prototype appears to be packing a production roll cage and thin, leather-clad bucket seats – splitting the difference between racing buckets and the usual, thicker thrones. We'll have to wait a bit longer until Porsche is ready to release all the details of the refreshed 911, hopefully to include that GT version. But for an unadulterated taste of what's to come, look no further than the spy shots in the image gallery above. Related Video:
Winterkorn remains CEO of Volkswagen's majority shareholder
Sun, Oct 4 2015Martin Winterkorn may have stepped down as the chief executive of Volkswagen in the wake of the diesel emissions scandal, but he's not out from under the company's large umbrella just yet. In fact, according to a report from Reuters, he still holds four top-level positions not only within the industrial giant's bureaucracy, but at the top of it. And one of those is as CEO of the company's largest shareholder. That holding company is Porsche SE, the investment arm of the Piech and Porsche families (Ferdinand Porsche's descendants) which holds over 50 percent of VW's shares. In 2008, Porsche SE acquired majority interest in the Volkswagen Group which in turn acquired Porsche the automaker – and placed VW's Winterkorn at the head of the executive board of the holding company. Though Winterkorn has resigned from his position as chairman of VW's management board, he has apparently yet to step down from running Porsche SE. That's not the only job that Winterkorn still retains in VW's senior management. He also continues to serve as chairman of Audi, as well as truck manufacturer Scania, and the new Truck & Bus GmbH into which Scania has been grouped together with Man. It remains unclear if or when Winterkorn might resign from those positions as well, or how his tenure in those posts might affect the company's effort to start over in the aftermath of the scandal in which it is currently embroiled. Also unclear, Reuters reports, is how much, exactly, Winterkorn will receive in compensation after having stepped down from his chair at the head of the VW executive board. His pension is reported at over $30 million, but he could be awarded a large severance package as well amounting to as much as two years' worth of his annual compensation, which amounted to around $18 million last year. Whether he receives the severance pay or not is expected to depend on whether his resignation is considered by the supervisory board to have been the result of his own missteps or independent of the situation that resulted in his resignation. One way or another, he's not likely to go poor anytime soon.
