1986 Porsche 928s (early 86) 66k Original Miles All Records Since New on 2040-cars

Year:1986 Mileage:66578
Location:

Hello-
Im selling my 1986 porsche 928s black on black. I purchased from the original owner and the car has all reciepts since new, a clean title, and even the window sticker. on the cars history it was reg'd in several states but that is because the orig owner moved around and took it with him as evidenced by the receipts i have back to 1986 all with the same name on them.
the car is very nice looking it is black, it has small dents and scratches here and there but presents well. no accidents are listed for the car and the car appears to have its original paint other than a small area on the passenger rear qrtr. which looks like a very good small repair there (ie you cannot tell by looking at the car, you have to inspect the passenger door jam and you see a small paint seam.) car has zero rust and was garaged its whole life.
the interior is black leather and fully operable. there are no tears in the leather, only very small cracks here and there on plastic knobs, etc. dash is very very clean. interior presents very well. the AT stick for some reason bumps into the sunroof button behind it when you shift into 1st or 2nd. there is zero problems with the transmission, it shifts very well, this is just some of the plastic may be slightly warped.
engine runs very well, i drive it daily and have zero issues--I am selling as i imagined id make this into a track car but it is such a nice example i cant bear to alter it, plus its an AT, so i bought a 335i for the track instead.
I took it to my porsche mechanic and he says the car is a solid driver and looks nice. the timing belt was replaced 2k miles ago but it was 7 years ago, ive chosen not to replace yet as the cars been driven lightly and s it was just replaced 2 miles ago, but he says if it were him, he would do all the belts to be safe. he also says there is some oil seepage here and there. im sure thats normal for a 1986 car. I have zero oil marks in my garage ever from the car and my level never goes down so you are fine. he also says the front AC does not work but the rear AC does work. (this car was optione with an extra cooling package) . I just tried the front AC and it was indeed working so the front AC may be intermittant. it works for me but porsche mechanic says did not for him.
car is great, only has 66k miles on it, looks so so cool turns heads!! you can drive from here to LA no problem, its reliable. I would either drive it as it and/or restore it due to its fully documented history and hell i even have the original valet key and a car cover.
I will not ship this overseas, if you are overseas you need to have someone come see me in person and give me cash and take the car. you can come see the car in person in oakland. I do not have time to f around with you driving the car all over, etc. so if you want eyeballs on it, come see it.
I feel I have been very honest in my description, and have probably knocked the car harder than it needs to be knocked. its a no reserve auction, if you win you need to send me 1k within 24hrs, and the balance and pick within a week.
cheers
oh I forgot--I have a set of 1987 s4 staggered wheels on there that i just had re-chromed and BRAND NEW bridgstone RE-11's 225/245 mounted ( :
car also comes with its original wheels which are same style but not staggared

Noted Porsche collector Magnus Walker learns what a TED Talk is firsthand

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Porsche collector Magnus Walker has the name and looks of a Viking, but once he starts talking about his life story and what drives him, he's an absolutely fascinating guy. Walker recently gave a Ted Talk at a Tedx conference at UCLA and claimed he didn't really understand the idea behind the speeches. You would never know it, though. Walker is as gifted a speaker as he is a talented restorer of some seriously cool Porsches.
Walker's talk is titled "Go with Your Gut Feeling," and it amounts to his autobiography. He recounts his birth in England, dropping out of school at 15 and moving to the US at 19. Once in Los Angeles, he started selling second-hand clothes and grew it into a fashion business.
Of course, what makes him interesting to us is his passion for Porsches. He fell in love with them when he saw a white 911 as a child at the Earl's Court Motor Show in England, but Walker waited until the '90s to buy his first one. From there he started racing and eventually restoring them. Since the documentary Urban Outlaw about him was released, Magnus has become famous for the love of the brand.

Magnus Walker and Alex Ross stop by Leno's garage with their 997 GT2

Mon, Feb 9 2015

The market is littered with Porsche 911 tuners, with names like 9ff, Gemballa and TechArt leading the field. Seldom do any two ever collaborate on a joint project, but that's just the kind of match that was made at Jay Leno's Garage. That's where Alex Ross of SharkWerks and restomodder Magnus Walker first met, sparking a collaboration that yielded the car you see here. And fittingly, they've brought it back to the garage to show off what resulted. Though Walker usually deals with older Elfens, this time he applied his eye for style on a more contemporary 2008 997 GT2, decking it out with grey stripes, orange bumpers, gold wheels and decals and a tartan-upholstered interior. He left the mechanical bits to Ross and company, who dropped the suspension and increased output to 650 horsepower at the wheels (775 at the crank), surpassing the stock GT2 and even the later GT2 RS. The result is pretty hard-core and old-school, but you'll want to watch the video above to see for yourself.

Michael Jordan's cars showcased in 'The Last Dance' documentary

Sun, May 10 2020

After the masses begged and pleaded for an early release, ESPN finally unlocked the doors to the biggest production in company history last month. Episodes 1 and 2 of The Last Dance, a 10-part documentary special about Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls, and the 1997-1998 season, was released at last on April 19, 2020. Each week since, two new episodes have aired on Sunday nights, and the next two, episodes 7 and 8 are scheduled to drop this weekend on May 10. With unprecedented video access to MJ, who became averse to the media during his playing days, a byproduct from The Last Dance is a look at some of Jordan's cars. The Goat's taste ranges across a number of brands, but they all had one thing in common: performance as a top priority. Below, we have listed the rides that have already appeared in the series, and each week, we will update with new car cameos. Chevrolet Corvette C4 The photo above somewhat epitomizes one of the themes of The Last Dance. Everybody, whether that was men, women, children, franchise owners, reporters, coaches, teammates, or opponents, wanted a piece of Jordan. If that meant stopping in the middle of the road to get an autograph, then so be it. Around town, MJ was fairly easy to spot due to his flashy cars that occasionally wore Bulls red. Jordan has driven numerous Corvettes throughout the years, but the C4 is unique in that it was Chevy's top ride when Jordan signed an endorsement deal with the American company during his rookie year in 1984. Two famous photos, one in front of the Chicago skyline, show him standing next to a C4 with the license plate "Jump 23." This exact car, however, came later, as indicated by the squared-off taillights. He went on to star in a number of Chevrolet commercials with vehicles such as the Blazer and S-10 pickup truck. Chevrolet Corvette C5 The most notable Corvette His Airness ever owned was likely the C4 40th Anniversary ZR-1, but he also drove a C5 coupe at one point. Roughly nine minutes into the first episode, Jordan is seen driving the chrome-wheeled targa top into the parking lot at the Berto Center, the Bulls old practice facility.   Ferrari 550 Maranello Roughly three minutes into episode four, viewers get a glimpse of Jordan's exotic taste in the form of a red Ferrari 550 Maranello.
