Please read!! When I listed this car about a month ago.....the autocheck score was great at 63!! FYI......Title is CLEAN and CLEAR!
1986 Porsche 928S model, metallic gray paint with a burgundy leather interior. Hi.....Welcome to the auction of my Porsche 928S!! This is one great car which I regret to sell.......and Only selling it as I'm moving on to another more expensive sports car. The car is in very nice condition for it's age and one of the best 928S cars I've seen in a long time. I've personally owned 7 so far and this one is by far the best one I've owned. The paint is not perfect but is extremely nice for an almost 30 yr old car as is the interior. The cars V8 engine seems to be fine and timing belts have been redone (see text below) and engine holds between 4 and 5 bar when driving around 60mph which is GREAT!!! The dash is in good condition and no dash pad or covers are needed! All glass is good too and no cracks....but passengers window doesn't go down..(could be switch...I've just never looked into it). The only lights on the dash is the "antilock brakes"....the brakes work fine of course and I've never looked into this light as well. A/C just charged and works fine!! AM/FM cassette is installed along with all original speakers/amplifer and hooked up properly. Actually sounds very nice and loud without distortion, cracking or popping. May want to install a nice CD player if you like. The heater and fans work very nice for the winter too, as well as the sunroof, power seats, cruise control, heated rear glass, rear wipers, all lights work on the exterior of the car. No rust I can see on the car either...not on edges or underneath. Car has new tires on the back as well as new/used later model Porsche Cup II wheels. Also installed are newer Porsche 964 mirrors on both sides....the are not hooked up but wires are there. I just never needed it since I was the only driver and set them for my view only. Parking brake works good as it should as well as warning lights/buzzer, etc... Engine oil was just changed recently and timing belt tensioned by Porsche mechanic. Timing belt was replaced twice as far as I can tell from the receipts included in the dash, and last time was around 153K miles or so. The power steering unit has a small leak but can't see any oil leaks! Oh...front shocks for hood are bad...need to replace them if you wish. Also.....the larger wheels/tires scrub just a tiny bit now and then on the rear of the car only. The car has been on long trips to Atlanta and North Carolina and drives great. I would not be afraid to drive this car across the country...it is that dependable....yet please know you're buying a 28 year old car so please don't expect it to be new. Oh.....the drivers seat has a place where the leather has come unstitched...right where the seatbelt comes across......you can see it in the photo a bit. Remainder of leather is really nice for the age....and car has never been smoked in as far as I know. Just 3 owners before me!!! Cargo net in back and most tools are here as well as a spare tire and fire extinguisher in trunk. :) The car is sold AS-IS of course and due to the rising prices of 928's in Europe....... I feel that this one is a great keeper!! I'm moving on to a different type sports car so that's the only reason I'm selling it. I've tried to think of everything possible to mention about the car.....but if you have any questions......please let me know. Thanks for looking and if you have ZERO or very LOW FEEDBACK.....you must write to me before bid or I reserve the right to cancel your bid. Winning bidder to pay $500.00 Deposit via paypal within 24 hours please to let me know you are serious. I will be happy to assist with your having the car picked up at YOUR expense if you're a bit too far away to consider coming to get it in-person. OH.........just had the rear brake pads changed and rotors turned about 1 month ago. Thanks for looking and have a blessed day! NOTE!! Please know that the A/C was charged just few days ago (5/1/2014) and works/cools fine!! Thanks!! |

Porsche board members facing another ˆ1.8B lawsuit over VW takeover bid
Mon, 03 Feb 2014Back in 2008, Porsche got the bright idea that it could take over Volkswagen in the midst of the worst economic slump since the Great Depression. Ignoring that this was a catastrophic move for the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer that that eventually resulted in it nearly going bankrupt and eventually being taken over by the same company it sought to control, the aftermath has left Porsche Chairman Wolfgang Porsche and board member Ferdinand Piëch in the crosshairs of seven hedge funds that lost out during the takeover and are now seeking €1.8 billion - $2.43 billion US - in damages from the two execs, according to the BBC.
See, investors bet on Volkswagen's share price going down, partially because Porsche said it wasn't going to attempt a takeover. But Porsche was attempting to take over VW, having bought up nearly 75-percent of VW's publicly traded shares. When word broke that Porsche owned nearly three-quarters of VW (which indicated an imminent takeover attempt), rather than go down like the hedge funds bet it would, VW's share price skyrocketed to over 1,000 euros per share, according to Reuters.
Naturally, when you bet that a company's share price is going to drop and it in turn (temporarily) becomes the world's most valuable company, you lose a lot of money, unless you're able to buy up shares before prices jump too much. This led to a squeeze on the stock, which the hedge funds accuse Porsche and Piëch (who are both members of the Porsche family and supervisory board) of organizing.
Your guide to vehicle subscription services
Mon, Oct 1 2018They might be extremely limited in scope because of location availability, but vehicle subscription services are a growing trend that most luxury manufacturers are jumping on. Plans are expensive, but you're paying for much more than just the car typically. We highlighted four of the larger plans with a few more listed at the end. Care by Volvo Volvo launched its subscription service last year with its brand-new XC40. It was the only vehicle available for a time, but subscribers can now get an S60 sedan as well. Subscriptions are for two years, with the monthly price including insurance, a concierge service, wear-and-tear item replacements and all maintenance. You'll be able to drive 15,000 miles per year with whichever Volvo you choose, and although there are no options to extend that mileage, you can swap cars after a year. Pricing for the XC40 is $650 per month in base trim, while an S60 can be as expensive as $850 for the R-Design. Volvo's plan is to offer more cars soon through the service, but it's relatively limited compared to others right now. Porsche Passport Porsche has two levels in its subscription service: Launch and Accelerate. Launch will cost $2,000 per month and give you access to the Cayman, Boxster, Macan and Cayenne. All of those but the Cayenne can be had in "S" trim as well. Accelerate is where the fun really starts. For $3,000 per month you can choose from a fleet of 911s, including the S, 4S, Cabriolet and Cabriolet S. If those aren't enough, you can also get the Panamera 4S, Macan GTS and Cayenne S. There are no mileage limits and you can change vehicles as often as you'd like. Also included in the price is insurance, repairs, detailing and any maintenance. It might be extremely expensive and limited to Atlanta only, but this subscription service is second-to-none for what you get. Audi Select Audi just launched its subscription car service, and it's offered in one version for a flat fee of $1,395 per month. For that you'll have access to five different cars including the A4, S5 Coupe, A5 Cabriolet, Q5, and Q7. Not a bad range of vehicles, but it would've been neat to see the recently updated A7 in there too. Maybe in time. Like the others, insurance and maintenance are wrapped up in the price. Audi is allowing for unlimited miles and two car swaps per month here. In addition to that, you'll get two days of free rentals through Audi's Silvercar rental agency should you go on a trip.
Porsche to develop new line of engines for next Panamera
Sat, 22 Mar 2014When the second generation of the four-door Porsche Panamera launches, it will likely be riding a new platform, complete with an all-new family of V6 and V8 engines, according to a report coming out of the UK.
Autocar reports that the so-called MSB platform will likely underpin the Panamera, and it could be shared with Bentley, provided the Volkswagen-owned, British-built brand commits to the architecture. As for the engines, it's reported that they'll have a sportier character than the V6s and V8s being built for Volkswagen and Audi's vehicles.
"Porsche will have its own new V8 that will be common to the new MSB platform," Porsche's chief engineer, Wolfgang Hatz, said. "It's a family for the next 10 years of cars." Whether the V8 and V6 will be used outside of the Panamera line, though, remains unclear. There's also no mention of what place turbocharging would have with the new engines.
