I have a 1986(.5) 928s. It is after vin#1000 so it has the much bigger better S4 brakes. Exterior of the car is in excellent shape, No rust anywhere to be found. Interior is in good shape, although it is worn in. There is a small wear spot on the drivers side rear seat back form getting in and out of the car. Car is currently registered, inspected, insured, and driven a couple days a week, so the mileage may go up a little, and test drives are possible if your in the area.

car comes with 2 sets of wheels and tires. 1 set of stock d-window 16" wheels, and 1 set of 18" turbo twists from a 996. I'll take less money for the car if you don't want the 18s (i can still put them to good use), contact me for details if this interests you.

288hp from a 5.0L liquid cooled 32 valve v8, automatic transmission, starts, runs drives, and stops very well.

there are a few flaws in the car, nothing out of the norm for a 27 year old porsche. There a worn spot on the lower drivers side of the drivers side seat back from entering the car, the AC doesn't work (service records indicate that the lower condenser hose is cracked, and it wasn't repaired since the car is used in new england and isn't necessary most days), the rear wiper works intermitently, and the power seat on the passenger side is unresponsive. None of these have hampered my enjoyment of the car.

I will take cash, check (wait for it to clear), money order, or paypal is fine so long as you pay 3% above to cover the costs of the service

Car is currently in Gray Maine. Car can be picked up. I also have a car trailer, i can deliver and or meet within a 3 hour radius of 04039 for $.75/mi. I frequently drive from southern maine to eastern ma so if your in my area contact me and I can get it to you cheaper. I can also assist a truck driver (per your arrangement) load the car if it was going further.

If you have any questions, need pictures of anything specific, or anything else, dont hesitate to ask.

Porsche still deciding on one or two new 911 plug-in hybrids

Tue, May 29 2018

Back in March, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume told Autocar that the coming Porsche 911 plug-in hybrid "will be the most powerful 911 we've ever had." That quote portended a 992-series 911 with 700 horsepower or more. A new report in Auto Express, however, suggests Porsche is having energetic debates about just what the 911's hybrid strategy will be, and that the only agreed-upon plug-in hybrid 911 so far is a milder version to sit in the middle of the range. Putting all our rumors in a row, in January, Automobile reported on an electrically-assisted 911 with 485 hp and 561 pound-feet of torque. The new AE piece effectively endorses that, saying the mid-range hybrid would follow the program established by the all-wheel drive Cayenne e-Hybrid that produces a combined 455 hp and 516 lb-ft. The 911 would naturally use a flat-six instead of the Cayenne's 3.0-liter V6, and the sports car would be tuned for better sound response and sharper reflexes. AE says fuel economy for this hybrid should be at least 80 eMPG, with emissions of less than 80 grams per kilometer. The current base Carrera is currently rated at a maximum 38.2 mpg in the UK, with minimum emissions of 169 g/km. The hybrid, fitted with a double-clutch gearbox and Porsche's mechanical all-wheel-drive system, could run from a stop to 62 miles per hour in less than four seconds, making it more efficient than a base Carrera and much faster than a Carrera 4S. AE says there remains only "the potential for Porsche to add a second, more powerful hybrid 911," and says its sources claim that's what's "causing the most consternation behind closed doors." This one would be the twin-turbocharged, 700-hp beastie that, as a series production car, would have a hard time not usurping the 540-hp Turbo, 580-hp Turbo S, and 607-hp Turbo S Exclusive. True, the hybrid would be handicapped with a 550-pound battery pack, but the instant acceleration and handling benefits of electric AWD — with no connection between the axles — could provide the final edge over the other three. As such, it makes sense that there'd be a whole lot of debate about a flagship 911 hybrid. On the other hand, such a monster seems like an eventuality in view of Porsche's electrified aspirations, the lessons gained from the 918 Hybrid and the 919 Hybrid Le Mans racer, and the fact that CEO Blume has already spoken. The Stuttgart carmaker expects a sales mix of 25 percent electric, 25 percent hybrid, and 50 percent conventional powertrains by 2025.

2015 Porsche Cayman GTS

Thu, 29 May 2014

The Porsche Boxster and Cayman will forever nip at the heels of their big brother, the 911 Carrera, and perpetuating this tradition are the latest GTS variants, which add yet another arrow to the quiver of the plucky mid-engined platform.
The GTS' performance enhancements boost horsepower by a mere 15 and shave a tenth from 0 to 60, but Porsche's clever product planners and engineers have stuck to their familiar formula in making the Cayman GTS more desirable than the Boxster for dyed-in-the-wool performance enthusiasts. More on that shortly.
Laps around Spain's Circuito Mallorca RennArena and the nearby Serra de Tramuntana mountain range would shed further light on how the GTS differentiates itself from lesser Caymans.

Paul Walker's accident due to 'speed, and speed alone'

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

Following an investigation into the crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and driver Roger Rodas, an unnamed law enforcement source told the Associated Press that there were no signs of mechanical failure on the Porsche Carrera GT that was destroyed in the accident.
The report from The Huffington Post claims the officer in question blamed "speed, and speed alone" in the fatal accident. The same report ruled out the presence of debris in the road, which may have caused Rodas to lose control of the V10-powered super car.
Engineers from Porsche are traveling to California to investigate the accident with the help of the Carrera GT's on-board data recorder. Until then, investigators won't speculate on the car's speed at the time of the wreck.
