I bought a 1985 928S this past winter for a summer project. Unfortunately, the garage I was going to rent fell through. My lost is your gain. It’s a 1985 928S with approx 79,900 miles. I’ll explain the good and bad of the car. I will be very honest in its condition. I will usually hurt myself by making the car seem less than it is but I sleep well at night knowing the buyer has total knowledge Mechanical: The engine is strong. It shifts and drives well. It rides very tight. I have a stack of receipt from the PO's. There is no noticable oil leaks from the engine. In the stack of receipts, the inner and outer tie rods been replaced, the A/C been worked on (I think it will need a recharge), there been a full tune up done (wires, spark plugs, distributors cap and rotors) ect. You need to rev it up for the voltage to show on the dash. I was going to do a intake refresh and timing belt job because the PO could not supply a reciept showing that it was done. Exterior: The paint is original and has a few small rust spots and a few small peeling paint areas. The passenger rear quarter panel was repainted. It does have Rare 16” cup wheels in great shape with Bridgestone high end tires. The passenger key slot is damage. The front spoiler is missing the middle section. I buffed the passenger side front quarter panel with light compound and it glossed up nicely. Interior: Overall interior in good shape. The dash has a dash cap on it that warped. The seats have small rips but overall not too bad. The rear seats are great. The steering wheel in great shape. The front windshield pillars leather is shrinking. It has a aftermarket stereo with 6 CD changer and old school high end amp. It does not leak water into the interior, even with heavy rainfall. The Tachometer does not work. It missing the mirrors switch. It comes with the original window sticker and assorted parts. I beleive this Porsche has great potential, it just need some TLC. If you have any question, feel free to contact me. The vehicle is being sold "AS IS" |

Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]
Sun, 26 Jan 2014If you don't wish to know who won the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, you should avert your eyes right now. We'll even give you a double-space to skedaddle...
For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.
Singer Porsche, Koenigsegg, NSX: Leno's life doesn't suck
Tue, Oct 6 2015Jay Leno had quite a productive trip this year during Monterey Car Week. Not only did he get to pal around with Ian Callum and check out the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, but the denim-clad comedian also headed to The Quail to talk to some prominent figures in the modern sports car scene. Capping off the fun, he got to take a drive in a Mercedes-AMG GT S, too Perhaps the highlight of this show is a nearly 10-minute interview with Christian von Koenigsegg. The founder of the Swedish hypercar company digs deep into the Agera One:1's engineering details, relating interesting facts about the aerodynamics and transmission. In addition, Leno chats with Rob Dickenson of Singer about its newly reimagined Porsche 911 Targa, and he gets the latest scoop on the Acura NSX's progress from newly promoted Acura Vice President and General Manager Jon Ikeda. If you like hearing about the nuts and bolts of sports car development, then this video can't be missed. Of course, we were there at Monterey, too, and we pointed our own cameras at some of the amazing machinery, both vintage and modern, at all the various car-focused events of the week. Take a look back at some of our own cool footage in the videos below. Related Video:
Porsche Cayman GT4 looks sexy, rapid in the nude
Mon, Jan 5 2015Porsche doesn't officially have a name for its more hardcore version of the Cayman, yet. The speculation is that the coupe is called the GT4 as a little brother to the 911 GT3. However, the German sports car maker apparently is not interested in keeping the model's looks much of a secret because these latest shots show it without a hint of camouflage to speak of. The GT4 reportedly takes the GT3's ethos of more power, less weight and stickier-than-glue handling and brings it all to the Cayman. As these photos show, there's a much lower air dam up front with a cooling vent at the tip of the hood. Larger wheels are another obvious addition and are likely shod with some very sticky rubber. At the back, there's a double spoiler combining a wing and a ducktail. The power and gearbox for the GT4 remains a mystery, though. The rumor is that it uses a tuned version of the 3.4-liter flat-six in the Cayman S and GTS to make between 370 and 400 horsepower. A similar overhaul of the Boxster might be on the way, as well. A version of the convertible wearing some of the Cayman GT4's goodies was recently spotted testing. That one even had a manual transmission to make the prospects behind the wheel even more exciting.
