1984 Porsche 928 S Coupe 2-door 4.7l Cayenne Wheels! *no Reserve!* on 2040-cars
Kannapolis, North Carolina, United States
This vehicle is a very special find.. It will turn heads wherever it goes! I have owned the 928 now for 2 and a half years and I unfortunately need to sell it (wife is pregnant) So here goes...Paint is awesome.. Door seals were replaced before I purchased the car. So was the interior including new carpets and seats. Previous owner did all of the restoration and the custom stereo install as well. I also still have the original OEM seats as well as the OEM intake and fog light parts..The car has a strait-pipe after the cat and sounds wonderful... According to the previous owner the wheels are from a Porsche Cayenne...The previous owner also made a custom entry to the fuse box that is very easily accessed in the passenger footwell. It has diamond plate metal covering that snaps into place...The OEM muffler and stock '84 wheels will also be included but I'm not sure how that will work if we need to ship the car...I will not ship any of these parts nor the wheels seperate from the car. Car is fast but please be aware it is not a quick 0-60 car.. Porsche designed these cars to have fast highway speeds (60-120) and deemed it a "sport tourer". I'm sure if you are looking at this car and interested that you have done your research... I will be happy to be involved and help if any issues arise.. Most anything on these cars can be found on the forums... There are no issues with the title. Buyer must pay shipping or local pickup. Buyer must also send a $1000 deposit within 24 hours of the end of auction. The speedometer was replaced with a GPS speedometer after numberous attempts to fix the failing OEM speedomenter with Odometer. I have been very careful about keeping up with the milage in order to replace oil. I currently run Kendall Racing oil 20w50. Milage may change as I really enjoy this vehicle and still drive it a few times a week. Please feel free to ask any questions! |

Porsche spotted testing next-gen Panamera in the snow
Thu, Jan 22 2015It's winter testing season in northern Sweden, and the latest spy shots our paparazzi on the ground have brought us is the upcoming Porsche Panamera testing in the cold and snow. The upcoming new four-door Porsche, spied wearing only minimal camouflage, appears to have a more elegant and sloping roofline than the existing model. Other details like the lights, mirrors and grille openings look fairly consistent with what we've been seeing on Porsche's other models as they've trickled out. Based on the new MSB platform, the new Panamera is set to share its underpinnings with the next Bentley Continental and possibly an Audi variant as well – though the prospect of a Lamborghini version to follow the Estoque concept seems to be off the table. The new platform will, however, make the new Panamera lighter than the current model. A new range of V6 and V8 engines are expected to provide motivation, driving the rear wheels or all four, along with the available e-hybrid system. Porsche's first four-door sedan was introduced in 2009 and underwent a facelift in 2013, so the all-new second-generation model should arrive sometime later this year or next as a 2017 model. This new model could provide the impetus for Porsche to put the Sport Turismo shooting brake version into production as well, and maybe – just maybe – a two-door coupe and possible convertible versions to follow in the footsteps of the 928.
Porsche picks Maria Sharapova as brand ambassador
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Russian-born tennis superstar Maria Sharapova has just inked a three-year deal with Porsche to be its brand ambassador, a position that will put her on a global campaign for the German automaker. The 26-year-old athlete isn't new to the role - she previously signed a similar three-year deal with Land Rover in 2006.
"Maria Sharapova is an exceptional athlete. She combines top performance in her sports with elegance and power. These are precisely the qualities that are embroiled in our sports cars," explained Matthias Mueller, CEO of Porsche AG, during the announcement. "Her profile and charisma are an ideal fit for Porsche. She is also highly respected around the world and enjoys an outstanding reputation," he added.
Some consider Porsche's choice of a female tennis player as its ambassador interesting, if not surprising. The automaker has traditionally marketed its vehicles with a masculine edge - Sharapova and the sport of tennis position the brand in a different light - likely an intentional decision. Do you think Porsche's choice was a good one? If not, who would you choose as its global ambassador?
Pininfarina teases its Tesla- and Bugatti-baiting EV supercar
Tue, Jul 10 2018Pininfarina isn't being bashful when it comes to getting into the car business. The Italian design house has revealed a sketch of the PF0 Concept, an electric supercar aimed directly at the world's fastest and most expensive vehicles. With upward of 1,000 horsepower, along with an expected price in the millions of dollars, this extreme EV is meant as a calling card for Pininfarina's upcoming range of electric cars and SUVs. So should the likes of Tesla, Porsche, Ferrari, Bugatti and Lamborghini be worried? Pininfarina might be new to building its own cars, but the company has many decades of experience designing and engineering some of the most desirable cars of all time — including many of the finest supercars to have worn a Ferrari badge on their nose. As we reported earlier this year, Pininfarina has teamed with Indian auto manufacturer, Mahindra, to develop a range of high-end EVs. With this roughly $500 million investment, not to mention some engineering help from Croatian supercar manufacturer, Rimac, Pininfarina aims to start high. The company will first introduce a hypercar, based on the PF0 Concept, within two years, then bring along a range of more affordable electric cars and SUVs. These will more directly take on the likes of Porsche Cayenne, Lamborghini Urus, and Tesla Model X. So yes, if you're in the business of building expensive cars, especially ones with a lot of batteries positioned inside them, Pininfarina's plans for the PF0 (that's a zero, not the letter "O," by the way) should make you sit up and take notice. "Automobili Pininfarina is a pioneering new business created to service the most discerning clients in the world," said Michael Perschke, CEO for Automobili Pininfarina. "Our product portfolio will launch with an innovative, zero-emissions hypercar that represents the progression we aim to make at the pinnacle of the luxury and sports car market." According to its press release, Pininfarina is currently presenting its "business and product plans to prospective retailer partners, clients and media in New York this week." After its tour of the Big Apple, look for Pininfarina to officially reveal the PF0 Concept during Monterey Car Week in August.
