For parts or restoration.  Has not been on the road for 21 years, not started for 12 years.  Partially disassembled in 1992 for a restoration that never happened.  Along the way some parts (windshield washer bottle and associated parts) went missing.  During the last 21 years car has spent half the time stored inside, half outside.  As a result, some components damaged by sunlight.  Interior very bad, exterior a little rough - big dent down the passenger door, fenders have been stripped and primed, roof has hole from old telephone system.  Rear spoiler a little sun worn and front spoiler is cracked in half.  Front bumper was the first piece repainted to what I wanted as a new color - 1989 Black Cherry.  Now the front bumper cover is a little scratched up but in good shape other than that.  A lot of small dents in the rocker panels from previous owner trying to jack vehicle in wrong places.  Some surface rust on front frame sections below windshield, balance of car rust free but paint is weathered considerably.  NOS rear bumper cover - never painted, never mounted on car, cost over $1000.  Haven't tried to start it since 2000 and would not recommend turning engine over without a new timing belt considering amount of time sitting.  300hp euro version engine, 3sp auto transaxle.  All materials and documentation go with vehicle - clear title, import/EPA conversion papers, shop manual set ($375), etc.  Great resource for someone trying to resurrect one of these fine automobiles - a used engine goes for $1500, used trans $1000; the glass in the car alone sells for nearly $1000.  I don't have the time to rebuild the car or the patience to part it out.  This is a very low miles vehicle for its age and when it ran this was the best driving car I have ever been in!  Originally sold in Stuttgart and imported by the original owner.  VIN - WP0ZZZ92ZBS841076

50th Anniversary Porsche 911 vs. Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a battle of beauty, brawn

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

There can't really be a loser between the Jaguar F-Type Coupe R and the Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition. One might be better than the other, but if you're behind the wheel of either of them, you can't complain. In a new video, Motor Trend takes on the difficult task of determining which one of these European powerhouses is the best, not just in terms of raw performance, but also how they actually feel to drive.
The Porsche 911 is one of the perennial favorites of the motoring world. It just doesn't go away and always seems capable of challenging the top vehicles in its class. In this video, Motor Trend takes a look at the 50th Anniversary Edition model that celebrates that heritage while boosting power somewhat over the standard version.
The F-Type Coupe is an incredibly masculine car, MT describing it as "a British Corvette." The coupe's exterior lines are tautly stretched over its athletic body, and it's supercharged 5.0-liter V8 sounds like a demon's growl. Jaguar seems to have things right with its latest sports car.

2015 Porsche Macan Turbo

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

The misinformation first started back in May of 2007 - more than six years ago - when word came that Porsche was developing a compact utility vehicle to fill out its product line. Rumors swirled that the German automaker's future "Roxster" would be based on the then-upcoming Audi Q5. By September of 2010, the name had changed to "Cajun," but the vehicle was still expected to be "based heavily on the Audi Q5," said reports in the months that followed. One year later, the first test mules were spotted, the mechanics hidden beneath barely disguised Audi sheetmetal, which did nothing to give the upcoming model its own identity. And even after Porsche announced "Macan" as the vehicle's production name in early 2012, articles stated that it would "arrive on the same chassis as the Audi Q5, though with suspension, brake and engine tweaks suitable to the Porsche range."
It's no wonder that most still consider the all-new Porsche Macan nothing more than a heavily massaged Q5.
To help lift some of the mystery surrounding its latest release, Porsche hosted us in Germany for an in-depth look at its new crossover (while Europeans call it a "sport utility," its car platform allows us to call it a proper CUV). The technology workshop offered us insight to the design and mechanical execution, and it concluded with a short test ride. The trip was both enlightening and educational - and it left us with a whole new perspective on the Macan.

Why you must buy an air-cooled Porsche 911 now

Fri, 14 Feb 2014

"Because" might be a good response to our headline, but as a vintage (purists might call 'proper') Porsche 911 is hardly cheap, we suspect you'll need a better explanation than that. Enter Drive editor Mike Spinelli.
Spinelli sits down with Zac Moseley and Mick Prichinello from Classic Car Club Manhattan to first explain why the market for old, air-cooled 911s has gotten so hot over the past few years, and to discuss if it's a bubble that's about to burst. Following that, this video is really is just three guys sitting around talking about old Porsches for 35 minutes. Which, you know, we're pretty onboard with.
