1981 Porsche 928 Base Coupe 2-door 4.5l on 2040-cars
Whippany, New Jersey, United States
1981 Porsche 928 euro model. Titled and registered as 1981, but decoding VIN indicates manufacturing year of 1982. VIN: WP0ZZZ92ZCS840136 Condition: This car runs and drives. Purchased about 7 years ago and driven occassionally as pleasure vehicle. It has been sitting in storage for about three years now with occassional start ups and drives, so we have decided to sell it. It has a relatively new clutch and transmission rebuild. The interior is pretty tired with some dash cracks. This is either a solid project car for someone who wants to do the interior, touch up the paint and get it tuned, and or a very nice donor car for mechanicals and body. Sale is as-is. Buyer must pick up. Payment by cash, wire transfer or certified check. Please contact me to come see the vehicle.

Porsche Museum highlights history of the 911 RSR
Sat, 12 Jan 2013Porsche has amassed quite an impressive trophy case in just about every racing series it has ever entered, and one of its most dominant machines has to be the 911 RSR from the 1970s. Taking part in various GT-class competitions, the 911 RSR managed to take home three international and seven German victories in 1973, its very first year of competition.
Not one to downplay its racing successes, Porsche has released an informative video detailing the 911 RSR's impressive heritage. The 1973 RSR model owned by the Porsche Museum is detailed beautifully on video, and we have to say it looks absolutely stunning in its vintage Martini Racing livery.
Have a look at the video below for some historic racing action, along with static shots of one of our favorite Porsche models ever created.
Porsche 911 already testing next refresh
Wed, 11 Dec 2013The latest Porsche 911 may still be a newer car, but that hasn't stopped the German company from starting development of a facelifted version of the rear-engined sports car, testing in what looks like southern Europe.
Due to hit the market in 2015, our spies think what we're seeing here is the new GTS variant, which, following the evolution of the last-generation 911, will make its debut on the facelifted car. Featuring the wider rear haunches of the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4, the GTS should enjoy a slight power boost, to 408 ponies.
Aesthetically, there are some additional vents in the rear bodywork, along with a revised front bumper and tweaked day-time running lights. The taillights get some attention as well, and will likely grow over the current car's skinny rear lamps.
