1978 Porsche 928 Base Coupe 2-door 4.5l on 2040-cars

Year:1978 Mileage:108000
Location:

Unique - One of a kind! - Different
I hate to sell my long-time love affair but it's time to be a part from it due to our upcoming moving event!
It only has 108,000 original miles.

Considering trade with newer SUV, newer Truck, or Japanese and Korean made vehicles with an equal value.

Very unique & rare, hard to find custom built 1978 Porsche 928.
This is the true Shark look you could get on a 928 Porsche. Custom built for the Concourse de' Elegance show in Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco and Acalanes Concourse Custom car shows.
Here is an older Porsche with a face lift with the aerodynamic body styling pieces add a very unique look, tremendous value, functionality and "WOW" factor to it. . . It truly is a head turner.

Needs some TLC: Front bumper & hood scoops has some cracks - rear valance needs repair - dash cover needs to be replaced (I just received the brand new replacement) - Crack windshield - It's been sitting but maintained with lubes, battery is weak. Front spoiler is not attached (See pictures)
Please see the attached pictures for details about the repairs needed.

New J.D. Power Initial Quality Study puts Porsche, GM in spotlight

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

J.D. Power and Associates has released its annual Initial Quality Study, and this year, Porsche and General Motors took the spotlight. The study, which asks new car owners to report problems experienced during the first 90 days of ownership, found that overall, the industry averages 113 problems per 100 vehicles.
Porsche managed a score of just 80 problems per 100 vehicles, while GMC took the second spot on the podium with 90. Lexus filled out the top three with 94 problems per 100 vehicles, followed by Infiniti at 95 and Chevrolet at 97. The study also looks at specific models, and found the Lexus LS to enjoy the best initial quality at 59 problems per 100 vehicles.
Interestingly enough, the report found that around two-thirds of most owner problems experienced in the first 90 days are attributable to vehicle design instead of mechanical failure. Specifically - echoing a refrain we've been hearing for the last few years - owners are having a hard time figuring out how to use the technology present in their new vehicles. Head over to the J.D. Power site for more information, or scroll down below for the company's related press release.

Magnus Walker and Alex Ross stop by Leno's garage with their 997 GT2

Mon, Feb 9 2015

The market is littered with Porsche 911 tuners, with names like 9ff, Gemballa and TechArt leading the field. Seldom do any two ever collaborate on a joint project, but that's just the kind of match that was made at Jay Leno's Garage. That's where Alex Ross of SharkWerks and restomodder Magnus Walker first met, sparking a collaboration that yielded the car you see here. And fittingly, they've brought it back to the garage to show off what resulted. Though Walker usually deals with older Elfens, this time he applied his eye for style on a more contemporary 2008 997 GT2, decking it out with grey stripes, orange bumpers, gold wheels and decals and a tartan-upholstered interior. He left the mechanical bits to Ross and company, who dropped the suspension and increased output to 650 horsepower at the wheels (775 at the crank), surpassing the stock GT2 and even the later GT2 RS. The result is pretty hard-core and old-school, but you'll want to watch the video above to see for yourself.

Porsche 911 GT3 named Performance Car of the Year by Road & Track

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

The Porsche 911 GT3 is a very, very good performance car. Yes, we know this is like saying fire is hot and a shovel to the head hurts. What's different about this proclamation, then? Well, we bring up the 911 GT3's inherent goodness because our friends at Road & Track have named it their 2015 performance car of the year.
This is, our joking aside, a big accomplishment for the 911 GT3, due largely to the field of cars it beat out. There were many equally track-focused wonders in attendance, including the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and Dodge Viper SRT TA, as well as more capable everyday vehicles, like the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, BMW M3 and Ford Mustang GT.
But it was the 475-horsepower, rear-engined track star that R&T fell for, with editor-in-chief Larry Webster calling out the Porsche's ridiculous, howling, 9,000-rpm redline, while other editors cited its phenomenal handling character.
