Selling my beautiful Porsche 924S. For those not familiar with this model, this is a 924 with the 944 engine. There were only two production years of this vehicle. I am not the original owner and acquired this vehicle about 10 years ago from a private seller. This car was driven just for fun (not a commuter) and has less than 90k miles on it. It is clean (looks great), has been well maintained, and garage kept. It starts and runs great, the auto transmission shifts smoothly, and it has a current vehicle inspection sticker and almost new tread. Many upgrades including Blaupunkt CD player, new speakers and power antenna, Porsche side and door sill decals, tinted glass, and a rear lens upgrade kit. Mirror bras and front bra included with the vehicle. This auction is being started at salvage value with NO RESERVE. This car is being sold absolutely "as is" and WILL sell to the highest bidder. Watch 1,208 Porsche 911s collect at Silverstone for world record
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Porsche has been spending the majority of 2013 celebrating the 50th birthday of the 911, with its latest stunt taking the German brand to the home of British motorsports, Silverstone. To celebrate, Porsche invited enthusiasts to take their personal 911s on a lap of the former airfield, and boy, did the Porschephiles show up. 1,208 911s took part in the lap around the Grand Prix circuit, making it the largest-ever gathering of the iconic, rear-engined cars.
This wasn't just a celebration of 50 years for the 911, though. Funds raised were channeled towards Hope For Tomorrow, a cancer charity that works with the United Kingdom's National Health Service in operating mobile chemothereapy units that make life just a little bit easier on cancer patients.

New details mooted about Porsche's '988' Ferrari rival
Tue, 08 Jul 2014We could be on the verge of a big expansion at everyone's favorite rear-engined German sports car manufacturer. Porsche is allegedly preparing a four-car assault that will be led by a proper challenger to the Ferrari 458 Italia (sorry 911).
Code-named "988," the new model will reportedly feature a mid-engined layout and, get this: a flat-8. Autocar, which has the story, expects that engine to displace about 4.0 liters, while the car itself will draw styling inspiration from the 918 Spyder. 600 ponies and over 400 super-accessible pound-feet of torque should be on tap with the new mill.
Joining the 988's supposed eight-cylinder is a new family of four- and six-cylinder boxer engines that Autocar claims will have a focus on power density and fuel economy. These new mills will be available in naturally aspirated, turbocharged and hybrid forms.

Whether it's the time to watch a baseball game or the money just to get there, parents have to give up something for the betterment of their offspring. Of course, once a child grows up, it's finally possible to repay mom and dad for all of their hard work. In the case of Kristin Russell and her stepdad, Dave, that involves a surprise 1973 Porsche 914.
Before he got married, Dave had a sweet, white 914. He even had the money saved up to restore it, but spent the cash on the wedding instead. The Porsche languished in the garage until Dave eventually parted it out and sold it off. Years later, Russell wanted to do something to thank her stepdad for all of the things he had done for her and her mom. The only fitting thank you was an identical 914 to the one that he gave up.
