For Sale - a 1975 Porsche 914 that was converted to a 914-6 and raced successfully in HSR. The Engine Conversion Bar is in the Car or it can be converted back to a 4 Cylinder car.

I found this car being sold by a Charity about a 100 Miles away. Anyone that knows me would tell you that there isn't a 914 that I don't love (I've owned over 25 of these Porsches) & I went over to get it, I was expecting a tired old car, but was pleasantly surprised to find a Solid Rust Free Car with New Paint (except the Front & Rear Deck Lids). Before it was donated to the Charity, it is obvious that many parts were taken off by the owner or the place it was stored - there is no Seat, Belts, Rear Brakes, Engine or Tranny and the wheels are Fuchs Replicas (with newer tires). However what is there is very nice - it has a Full Cage tied to the Suspension Points, Front Brakes, Massive Sway Bar, MonoBalls, Window Net, Neat Steering Disconnect, New Steering Wheel, Wiring looks to be intact, -6 Conversion Bar, There is an ATL Fuel Cell (but it is just set in the front trunk). The Front & Rear Lids are Fiberglass as are the Front Flares & Rear Quarters, Front Bumper (No Rear Bumper). The Windshield is Plexiglass as is the rear window. The Top is one the coolest lightweight F/G Tops I have ever seen! The Charity didn't know much about the car and I have tried to trace it. I know it was owned by a Vintage Racer from the San Francisco area that had this and an almost identical car. It was maintained by Frank Beck European in AZ. I have tried to obtain the LogBook, but that has not happened yet.

All in all, it is a Very Nice Race Car that needs a Home. I would keep it, but I've been building a 914-6 Race Car for awhile and have a 914 2.0 Street Car and more than anything else I don't have room.

It is a Race Car and as such will be
Sold on a Bill of Sale (eBay would not let me put this is in the Title Section - I am the rightful Owner of the Vehicle & own it with no Leins)

Car is in Tampa, FL

I do have a couple of Engines & Transmissions that can be purchased seperately ($5,000 to $35,000)

Volkswagen Group previews its wares on eve of Geneva show

Mon, 05 Mar 2012

The Volkswagen Group is comprised of 11 brands producing 240 vehicles across 49 factories throughout the world. So the best way to show off the range of the VW family is to cram a few thousand journalists and VIPs into a massive makeshift stand to outline the Group's goals, what's in the pipeline and what you'll be able to buy later this year.
To that end, VW pulled out all the stops on the eve of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, bringing along 10 vehicles from across the range. We'll be delving into the details of each over the next two days of show coverage, but before that happens, you can read all about what we saw tonight from the cheap seats after the break.

1974 Porsche 914 EV conversion still looks good

Thu, Jan 23 2014

Looking through the pages of the EV Album is a great way to learn about the breadth and depth of the electric vehicle community. Branching well beyond the three dozen or so electric vehicles that are currently sold by major automakers in the US, EV Album showcases lots of DIY conversions of all types. A 1995 Fiat Cinquecento? Check. A 1992 Kewet Eljet 2? No problem. The site's old-fashioned looks (it was started in 1997) show just how long people have been passionate about their EVs. Many of the cars are throwbacks to a previous time and we found a prime example of that, a converted 1974 Porsche 914 (EV Album page here) this week. Now powered by a Prestolite MTC4001 Series Wound DC motor and some flooded nickel-cadmium batteries, the 914 has a top speed of 80 miles per hour and a range of 35 miles. But only "if you are taking it easy," of course. The motor has a peak output of 60 horsepower and 25 hp continuous. Converted over 600 hours (!) to electric power at a cost of $10,000, it is now owned by Charlie Garlow of Maryland. The car is on display at the Washington Auto Show this week and serves as a great reminder of what most EV drivers used to have to do to drive emissions free. Porsche releases new Panamera Edition models

Mon, Mar 30 2015

We can't remember the last time we came across a special edition called "Edition," but that's what Porsche is offering with the Panamera. Available on the base, 310-horsepower models, the Panamera Edition is so subtle you'd need to be in the secret owners club to identify it. High-gloss black trim strips outline the windows, it sits on 19-inch Panamera Turbo wheels with colored center caps, the sills are inscribed with the word "Edition," and body-colored door handles are fitted if you pay extra for Porsche Entry & Drive. The cabin gets Porsche logos in the seat headrests, those front thrones being 14-way in the US, climate controlled seats throughout, and a two-tone treatment in black and Luxor Beige. Oh, and special floor mats. Performance upgrades come in the inclusion of active suspension, and convenience comes with the included Park Assist. Tempted? Head to your Porsche dealer in June to take one home. The Panamera Edition will require $80,000, an eminently reasonable (for Porsche) $1,900 premium over the standard car. The Panamera 4 Edition needs $84,300, an even more reasonable $1,500 premium. Destination adds another $995 to both of those prices. The press release below has a few more details. Related Video: Porsche Panamera Edition: Sports sedan with extensive standard features Atlanta. A new special version of the Porsche Panamera sports sedan stands out through elegant styling combined with a significantly expanded range of standard equipment. Two models with powerful six-cylinder engines will be offered: the Panamera Edition and Panamera 4 Edition both come with an engine that delivers 310 hp. The Panamera 4 Edition features active all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled, map-controlled multi-plate clutch (Porsche Traction Management, PTM). The exterior of the Panamera Edition models is marked by additional subtle design tones, including high-gloss black trim strips on the side windows. The standard 19-inch alloy wheels in Panamera Turbo II design feature wheel center caps with a colored Porsche crest. The door handles are finished in exterior color when Porsche Entry & Drive is optionally selected. The Panamera Edition also boasts a two-tone standard interior in Black / Luxor Beige with the Porsche crest embossed on all head rests, Sport Design steering wheel, door sill plates with "Edition" lettering, and special floor mats.
