1973 porsche 914. 2.0 ltr. Rebuilt engine with 1500 miles on it. Their was a mild performance camshaft installed for proper conversion from fuel injection to carb. Bosh 009 ignition was also installed. Stainless steel heat exchangers. The motor runs strong smooth and clean very responsive all through acceleration. Side shift transmission, The floor pan is original in very good solid condition, longitudes both left and right are in great solid condition, The battery box is original and solid. The paint is base coat clear coat olympic blue. 2 years and only 1500 mile on the paint as well. This car was in my attached garage and was never stored outside. The interior is in very nice condition. 2 hairline cracks in dash barely visible. New tires, wheels are in very nice condition. The cars lights are all in operational and lenses are not broken, The charging system is also in operating condition. The warning light indicators in the speedometer for oil, temp, battery are all in operating condition, In case nobody knows this little secret, Check to see if all the light indicators work with just the key on without engine running. as these all do, Thus meaning the bulbs are not blown or removed from the car for guys trying to get over on people. Front and rear sway bar Kyb struts and coils. If your looking for a show car go to Barret Jackson, If your looking for a new car go buy a chevy, If you are looking for a good 914 thats solid and runs great this is the car. Example of what i dont want. I had a supposed 914 expert come with two guys and look at this car, For over an hour they looked it over, tried to bust my butt saying, I think the headlights are a little dim , And the seat seemed little loose . It was raining outside and they actually expected me to let them take the car out and hammer on it. I told them look at the floor pan see how clean it is, They said yes it is. Why do you think that is " I dont take this car out in bad weather ". During this time the engine was just idling away crisp and clean no indicator lights. If you want brighter light bulbs go buy some These are 40 years old and original.. I said make an offer and then possibly you can. The conversation ended. If a real 914 expert wants to come he is more than welcome this car is exactly as described. I would not mind talking to anybody just dont be another expert like the last one. Or go buy a chevy Email me at Doctooth911@gmail.com

2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet spotted testing in the nude
Tue, 16 Jul 2013The Porsche 911 wouldn't be the Porsche 911 unless there were twenty-something different models to choose from (note: we are not complaining), and the latest one was just spied by our trusty photographers out on Germany's Nürburgring. Feast your eyes on the 911 Turbo Cabriolet - the droptop version of the new Turbo wonder that debuted in May - looking all sorts of stealth in its black-on-black-on-black prototype scheme.
Mechanically, the 911 Turbo Cab should be identical to the fixed-roof version, meaning a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six engine will live in the car's rump, putting out something like 520 horsepower. Of course, there's also the hotter Turbo S version of the coupe, and we expect that to get the droptop treatment, as well, with 560 horsepower on tap. The added weight of the folding top and additional structural supports will likely make for slightly slower 0-60 times for both cars, though considering the base Turbo will hit 60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds, "slower" is a very relative term indeed. All that force will run to the ground via all-wheel drive, managed by Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
The wide stance of the 911 Turbo Coupe carries over to the Cabriolet, no doubt fitted with the same (standard) 20-inch wheels. Inside, the usual luxury amenities will be on hand, along with nearly endless customization options.
'Born of a Blue Sky' brings the Amelia Island Concours to you
Fri, 03 May 2013The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance has more clout every year and is getting a reputation as Pebble Beach minus the madness. Held in March this year, it celebrated Ducati and the 50-year anniversaries of Lamborghini, the Corvette Sting Ray, Porsche 911 and the Ford GT40.
Justin Lapriore was there, and seemingly everywhere, getting footage of the various wares on display on the lawns and the sand and the runway. The resulting video, Born of a Blue Sky, is a 16-minute survey of some of the finer sights and plenty of engine sounds. Check it out below.
Porsche planning Cayman GT4 racer
Fri, 10 Oct 2014To say that Porsche is big in racing is like saying that Warren Buffett dabbles in mergers and acquisitions. But while it fields the 919 Hybrid at Le Mans and in the FIA World Endurance Championship, the bulk of its racing activities are undertaken by private teams that buy customer racecars from the factory. Those in turn are largely based on the 911, but the latest intel from the motor racing world indicates that Zuffenhausen is planning a more accessible customer race car.
The new, more affordable competition car is to be based on the Cayman and built to GT4 specifications, slotting in below the 911-based GT3 Cup, GT3 R and RSR. Autosport reports that Porsche has already developed a prototype and will shortly commence testing. Details are scarce at the moment, but the Cayman GT4 would seem to compete against the likes of the Aston Martin Vantage N24, Nissan 370Z Nismo GT4 and Maserati GranTurismo MC. It will also likely help Porsche foster enthusiasm for a potential road version that's already been spotted undergoing testing. Previous GT4 racing conversions of the Cayman, like the one pictured above, were carried out by third-party racing constructors not recognized by the factory.
Porsche may not be the only one showing interest in the category, however. BMW is said to similarly be considering a GT4-spec version of its M235i Racing model to compete in the same class, taking the place of the defunct M3 GT4 as the Bavarian marque's entry-level customer racing car.
