1975 PORSCHE 914

NO RESERVE !

THIS CAR IS MY SON'S CAR SO HERE IS HIS DESCRIPTION

HERE IS MY PORSCHE. IT IS MY DAILY DRIVER. THE 914 WAS MY CHILDHOOD FAVORITE CAR AND WHEN THIS ONE CAME UP LOCALLY I JUMPED AT IT. EVEN THOUGH I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE EXCITED, CRAMMING MY 6'3" 215 POUND FRAME INTO IT EVERYDAY HAS BECOME MORE IMPRACTICAL THEN I THOUGHT IT WOULD. (SEE PICTURE) .... SO NOW IT HAS TO GO. I HAVE ALREADY BOUGHT THE JEEP YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOS. THAT IS WHY I DECIDED TO GO WITH NO RESERVE. HIGH BIDDER DRIVES IT HOME!

I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THE SECOND OWNER. WHEN HE STARTED HIS FAMILY HE DIDN'T DRIVE IT MUCH SO WHEN I CAME ALONG IT NEEDED A FEW THINGS TO MAKE IT MY DAILY DRIVER. SO I PUT BRAND NEW TIRES, A FULL TUNE UP. ALL FLUIDS ARE ON SCHEDULE.  I ALSO DECIDED TO HAVE THE SHIFT LINKAGE TOTALLY REBUILT AND SO NOW IT SHIFTS LIKE FACTORY FRESH! I ALSO HAD TO HAVE A NEW GENERATOR INSTALLED ALONG WITH A NEW VOLTAGE REGULATOR. SO AS IT SITS RIGHT NOW, IT IS A VERY RELIABLE DAILY DRIVER! YOU CAN FLY IN AND DRIVE IT HOME. IT DOES HAVE A SMALL OIL LEAK THAT IT HAD WHEN I GOT IT. IT HASN'T GOTTEN ANY WORSE. IT LEAVES ABOUT A QUARTER SIZE DROP WHEN I PARK IT OVERNIGHT. WHETHER I LEAVE IT SITTING FOR 1 DAY OR A FEW DAYS IT'S STILL THE SAME SIZE DROP.

THIS 914 DRIVES GREAT. IT IS COLD BLOODED SO I START IT AND LET IT WARM UP BEFORE I TAKE OFF. THE CLUTCH IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND WITH ALL THE NEW GASKETS FOR THE SHIFT LINKAGE (INCLUDING THE ONE FOR THE FIREWALL INSTALLED PROPERLY) IT SHIFTS SMOOTH AND TRUE. THE CAR HANDLES EXCELLENT! ESPECIALLY WITH THE BRAND NEW TIRES. BRAKES ARE IN GREAT SHAPE AS WELL. I DO HAVE MY RECEIPTS AND RECEIPTS FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNERS ALONG WITH THE MANUAL.

I DO HAVE TWO TOPS FOR THE CAR. ONE HAS RACKS SCREWED INTO IT FOR RECREATION .... BIKES, SURFBOARDS, OR EVEN A CHRISTMAS TREE.

MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THIS CAR WAS ORIGINALLY A RARE BLUE CAR FROM THE FACTORY. IT WAS COLOR CHANGED TO BURGUNDY AND THEN THE LAST OWNER PAINTED IT METALLIC GREEN.

I AM NOT A COLLECTOR OR A PORSCHE EXPERT. I BOUGHT IT JUST BECAUSE I ALWAYS WANTED TO OWN ONE. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO COME BY AND CHECK IT OUT OR SEND SOMEONE TO CHECK IT OUT FOR YOU IF YOU ARE OUT OF THE AREA.

PLEASE BE AWARE I AM NOT A DEALER. THIS IS AN AS IS WHERE IS AUCTION. THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES EXPRESSED NOR IMPLIED. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THE NOTES UNDER PAYMENTS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK BEFORE THE CLOSE OF AUCTION.

These are the cars with the best and worst depreciation after 5 years

Thu, Nov 19 2020

The average new vehicle sold in America loses nearly half of its initial value after five years of ownership. No surprise there; we all expect that shiny new car to start depreciating as soon as we drive it off the lot. But some vehicles lose value a lot faster than others. According to data provided by iSeeCars.com, trucks and truck-based sport utility vehicles generally hold their value better than other vehicle types, with the Jeep Wrangler — in both four-door Unlimited and standard two-door styles — and Toyota Tacoma sitting at the head of the pack. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited's average five-year depreciation of 30.9% equals a loss in value of $12,168. That makes Jeep's four-door off-roader the best overall pick for buyers looking to minimize depreciation. The Toyota Tacoma's 32.4% loss in initial value means it loses just $10,496. The smaller dollar amount — the least amount of money lost after five years — indicates that Tacoma buyers pay less than Wrangler Unlimited buyers, on average, when they initially buy the vehicle. The standard two-door Jeep Wrangler is third on the list, depreciating 32.8% after five years and losing $10,824. Click here for a full list of the top 10 vehicles with the least depreciation over five years. On the other side of the depreciation coin, luxury sedans tend to plummet in value at a much faster rate than other vehicle types. The BMW 7 Series leads the losers with a 72.6% drop in value after five years, which equals an alarming $73,686. BMW's slightly smaller 5 Series is next, depreciating 70.1%, or $47,038, over the same period. Number three on the biggest losers list is the Nissan Leaf, the only electric vehicle to appear in the bottom 10. The electric hatchback matches the 5 Series with a 70.1% drop in value, but since it's a much cheaper vehicle, that percentage equals a much smaller $23,470 loss. 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet spotted testing in the nude

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

The Porsche 911 wouldn't be the Porsche 911 unless there were twenty-something different models to choose from (note: we are not complaining), and the latest one was just spied by our trusty photographers out on Germany's Nürburgring. Feast your eyes on the 911 Turbo Cabriolet - the droptop version of the new Turbo wonder that debuted in May - looking all sorts of stealth in its black-on-black-on-black prototype scheme.
Mechanically, the 911 Turbo Cab should be identical to the fixed-roof version, meaning a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six engine will live in the car's rump, putting out something like 520 horsepower. Of course, there's also the hotter Turbo S version of the coupe, and we expect that to get the droptop treatment, as well, with 560 horsepower on tap. The added weight of the folding top and additional structural supports will likely make for slightly slower 0-60 times for both cars, though considering the base Turbo will hit 60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds, "slower" is a very relative term indeed. All that force will run to the ground via all-wheel drive, managed by Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
The wide stance of the 911 Turbo Coupe carries over to the Cabriolet, no doubt fitted with the same (standard) 20-inch wheels. Inside, the usual luxury amenities will be on hand, along with nearly endless customization options.

Jack Olsen built a Porsche 911 to drive every day and conquer Willow Springs

Mon, Dec 15 2014

Almost two years ago we wrote about the 12-Gauge Garage Jack Olsen built to house his multifarious Porsche 911 - its 1972 bodywork hides four decades of Porsche parts, like the transaxle from a 1977 911 and the engine from 1995 911, for example. It weighs 2,400 pounds and has 272 horsepower, and Olsen uses it daily driving and for track days, the latter excursions featuring homemade, bolt-on aero parts. German magazine Auto Bild stopped by Olsen's house to look in on the Porsche called "Black Beauty II," and we get a few more details about the mods he's made, like swapping out for fiberglass body panels and welding Fuchs wheel centers to wider Corvette barrels so he could run different tires. Most importantly, though, Olsen divulges his passion for lowering his lap time at Willow Springs. Randy Pobst set the lap record for a production car around the 2.5-mile Big Willow track in a Porsche 918 Spyder at 1:23.54 during a Motor Trend test (the outright record, according to Willow Springs, is held by Michael Andretti at 1:06.050 in a CART car). Further down the list, Steve Millen drove a 415-hp 911 GT3 RS around the same track in 1:33.14 - a car 600 pounds heavier than Olsen's. Over the past 14 years of tinkering with his car, Olsen says his data shows his lap time is now down to 1:26.88, achieved on the day of filming the Auto Bild video. That time would put him in between the 1:26 flat posted by Dominik Farnbacher in a 608-hp Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR and the 1:28.93 put up by Pobst in a 400-hp, 991-series 911. You can hear Olsen tell it in his own words in the video.
