1975 Porsche 914 1.8 Documented One Owner Until 2011 on 2040-cars
Hackensack, New Jersey, United States
Thanks for taking a look at my 1975 Porsche 914 1.8
You would be just the 3rd owner of this really great 'survivor' car. Here are some more details: The car was purchased new from Bryntesen Porsche Audi in Hinsdale IL on 5/15/75 and around 1978 moved to very dry and salt free Glenwood Springs Colorado where it was regularly driven and maintained by the original owner until I purchased the car in July 2011. Upon arrival in NJ I gave it a thorough cleaning, tune up, etc. I put a set of original type Fuchs polished alloys (on Nitto 195/60's) and have driven it to the Northern Adirondacks, the Eastern Shore, Hamptons, Hershey etc without any issues what so ever. I live a few miles from the end of Route 80 and would not hesitate to drive it all the way to the other end of Route 80 tomorrow. This thing gets about 35mpg, starts right up every time, runs super smooth, and thanks to the lower stance (rides about 1.5" lower) handles like a go cart. I have owned several 914s and looked at lots of them before buying this one, which just could not be passed up. Very hard to find one like this, and you so rarely see that interior in this shape. It a true, honest, well documented car with nothing to hide. A personal inspection is welcome, and I will answer all questions promptly as well as assist in shipping. Of course the car is sold as-is, where-is without any warranties written or implied. You will not be disappointed in this car and will be hard pressed to find a better [mostly] original. Bid with confidence and good luck. Kurt (201) 463-0119 |

Porsche 911 celebrates 50 years of iconic motoring
Tue, 10 Sep 2013Back in 1963, Porsche debuted the very first 911 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. And over the last 50 years, that coupe has grown to become one of the most iconic sports cars of all time. That in mind, you could easily chalk up this 50th Anniversary model as just one of the many special edition 911s that have graced our roads over the years, but dig a bit deeper and you'll see that this one is far more than just some unique paint and different wheels.
For starters, the 911 50th Anniversary Edition utilizes the wider Carrera 4/4S body, but retains its standard rear-wheel-drive configuration. Power comes from the Carrera S' 3.8-liter flat-six engine, but features a Powerkit upgrade that includes the Sport Chrono package and ups overall output to 400 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Hitting 60 miles per hour takes just 3.8 seconds if the car is fitted with Porsche's dual-clutch PDK gearbox, or 4.2 seconds if you choose the row-your-own seven-speed manual. Talk about going Over The Hill with a quickness.
Despite looking pretty tame, we're really hot on the appearance of this special 911, with its throwback flat gray paint job and new 20-inch wheels that look remarkably similar to the original Fuchs alloys of the 1963 model. Inside, you'll find green lettering on the instrument displays, white pointer needles and silver accents, and the leather seats have a fabric insert that's similar to the Pepita cloth from the original 911.

Porsche gives Nick Murray exactly what he deserved [w/video]
Sat, 19 Apr 2014The tale of Nick Murray and his lemon Porsche 911 appears to have come to a satisfactory end. As noted in the original story about Murray, he and Porsche Cars North America met and came to a resolution. However, we didn't know exactly what that meant, until now.
Murray has created a new video explaining that PCNA offered to buy back the car at full price or give him an exact replacement for it. This was exactly what he was asking for. Murray remains pro-Porsche in the new video. "I am definitely considering reordering a Porsche 911," he says.
Porsche also posted a message on its Facebook page that clarified the situation. "We at Porsche have always sought excellence in all that we do. We know you expect it of us. And when we don't meet that standard, we make every effort to improve," said a portion of the note.
