1973 Porsche 914 2.0l, 29,500 Miles, Very Original on 2040-cars
United States
Alaska Blue with Black interior. I will be the first to admit that I didn't fully appreciate this unique car until I saw it, inspected it and drove it. I then understood it. It is one of the most original and authentic old school Porsches I have ever worked with. It's currently owned by the second owner from new and has just under 30,000 original and documented miles on it. The paint is original, the interior looks factory fresh and everything is exactly where it ought to be. It's a clean and honest example of an early 914 and for anyone searching for this type of vehicle, it is exactly the right kind of car to seek out. This 914 was originally sold in Colorado on April 30, 1973 and stayed with that first owner until February 28, 2012 at which time it was purchased by 914 specialist, Auto Atlanta. Mileage at the time was 28,922, approximately 600 miles less than the current reading. The current owner purchased the car from Auto Atlanta in 2012 with plans of owning for the next 39 years but successive career related moves have made that impractical. It is now offered for sale and presents a unique opportunity to the right buyer. A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity has been requested but 914 experts have informed me that it is further unique because it likely came without the Appearance Group. All chassis and VINs match in all locations on the car and it comes with its original manual showing the original stamps. The preliminary inspection found everything in working order. Although the inspection was done without the aid of a lift, no rust was in evidence anywhere on the car. (see additional photos by requesting link). Recent service including new tires and fuel pump has this car starting and running to perfection. And although this car will almost surely appreciate in value, it should be purchased to be driven because it is a blast to drive. It inspires confidence and brings a quick smile to anyone's face. My thanks to George and Tom and others on the 914Club forum for their guidance and 914 tutorage it is greatly appreciated. This Porsche is offered for sale under our Weissach Autohaus' Broker Services Program allowing a privately owned Porsche to be sold by Weissach Autohaus on behalf of its owner. Take a POV hot lap in the Porsche 918 Spyder
Mon, 14 Apr 2014That title about says it all. This is a hot lap of the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX, with Porsche Works Driver Patrick Long at the wheel of a Porsche 918 Spyder. The camera is basically showing us everything that Long sees, making this not just one of the coolest 918 videos we've seen, but also one of the neatest laps of CoTA.
As Long peers through the bends, so will you. You'll see him fight the wheel, and find out just how difficult it is to hustle this hybrid hypercar around a world-class track at speed. It's pretty darn entertaining. There are also a few scattered shots of the 918's exterior just to break up the interior awesomeness, although we aren't exactly complaining about those. Take a look below for the short video from Porsche.
Lots of new cars were unveiled in Munich this week. Here's what you might've missed
Thu, Sep 9 2021The 2021 Munich Auto Show is happening this week and due to ongoing corporate travel restrictions, we remained firmly planted on this continent. So, although we can't tell you exactly what it's like inside the futuristic new Mercedes EQE electric sedan or fully appreciate the funky Volkswagen ID.Life concept, there's no shortage of details and analysis to provide. Obviously, as Germany's premier auto show in 2021, the cars unveiled were primarily from the German brands. We also focused mostly on the cars that might actually make their way to the United States, or at least inspire those that will. 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE is an electric alternative to the E-Class While the EQS paved the way for Mercedes' electrified future, much like the S-Class before it, the EQE stands to be the car that will move in far greater numbers -- much like the E-Class before it. Mercedes-Maybach EQS Concept View 4 Photos Volkswagen ID.Life concept previews the city car's high-riding EV future Well, isn't this adorable? Though perhaps a tad derivative of the Honda E, Volkswagen's blocky little crossover EV nevertheless represents a handsome new direction for VW design. We like this better than the rounded looks of the current ID.3 and ID.4. 2021 Volkswagen ID.Life concept View 20 Photos BMW i Vision Circular is a 100% recycled and recyclable hatch Behold, the next BMW 3 Series! Just kidding. Besides this, BMW displayed cars in person for the first time that it had previously only unveiled on the interwebs, including the new 2 Series and revised iX3. It also unveiled some bikes. BMW i Vision Circular Concept View 63 Photos Audi's GrandSphere concept was designed as a road-going private jet Does Audi know what a sphere is? Cause this isn't anything like one. Still, it's quite a handsome thing, and as one of three Sphere-branded concepts, previews the next direction of Audi design (which is pleasantly reminiscent of two-decade-old Mazda design). No complaints here. 2021 Audi GrandSphere concept View 26 Photos Porsche Mission R is a 1,000-horsepower electric monster Just like the Mission E previewed the Taycan, this apparently previews another future car.
The 2014 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S brings 50 extra ponies to Detroit
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Porsche has announced a new version of its popular SUV today at the Detroit Auto Show: the 550-horsepower 2014 Cayenne Turbo S.
This newly minted "flagship" of the Cayenne lineup is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 engine, and offers 50 hp more than the Cayenne Turbo. Performance figures are impressive for the sleek utility vehicle: 0-60 miles per hour can be dashed off in 4.3 seconds, while maximum speed is rated at 175 mph. The Turbo S also gets dynamic chassis control, torque vectoring and Porsche's Sport Chrono package - all standard equipment.
Visually the Cayenne Turbo S differentiates itself from the lesser models in pretty subtle ways. Gloss black trim decorates the gawping front air intakes, as well as rear-view mirror trim panel. The SUV also wears 21-inch Turbo II wheels, a la the 911 Turbo.
