1970 Porsche 914 on 2040-cars
Glendale, California, United States
ANY QUESTIONS JUST EMAIL ME: tandytppetiet@iamgreatinbed.com . Exterior: This car is a real 914-6 signal orange car. As I mentioned early it was restored in the late 90’s to early 2000’s. It had some damage fixed in the rear along with a left front fender. They did a very nice job making the repairs. All of the flares are real and are steel. The car was stripped completely prior to being painted and restored from bare metal. This car does have a couple of bubbles that appeared near the right rear fender. Overall this is a very nice clean looking 914-6.
Engine/Transmission: This car does not have its original engine. It has a 2.2 engine with S pistons and E cams. This engine sounds great and starts right up. It makes very nice power and shifts through all 5 gears smoothly. The transmission has shorter gears and a factory LSD transmission. Both the engine and transmission have been rebuild approx 2,000 miles ago and are in excellent shape. This car is a blast to drive.
Suspension/Wheels: This car has real Fuchs 7 and 8 15” wheels that look great. I have the original center caps that go with them. The front suspension is from an 89 Carrera and the spindles were raised. It has the 944 turbo front brakes and rear original 914-6 calipers that were rebuilt and widened by PMB and have vented rotors. The chassis has the 914-6 stiffening kit and the trailing arms were boxed reinforced. It has a front alloy cross member and the suspension parts were powder coated. It has Koni Sports red adjustable spring perches. It has new bushings front and rear and new torsion bars.
Interior: The interior is also in excellent shape. It has all rebuild gauges, new dash pad, and new knee pad. It has a Koenig drivers seats, however a small hole has appeared on it.

Porsche 911 Cabriolet refresh may hide new engine
Wed, 22 Jan 2014If we learned nothing else from our recent frolic through Porsche's secret museum, it's that the automaker goes to incredible lengths to disguise future products during initial testing. Just as a number of cars in that Stuttgart bunker hid the true identity of developmental mules (like the Audi-V8-powered 911), such could very well be the case with these spy shots showing what, on the surface, appears to be simply a facelifted 991 911 Cabriolet.
Similar to what we saw last month on a 911 coupe, this Cabriolet has obvious styling modifications made to the front and rear fascias suggesting that the 911's still-fresh appearance is already set to get a few tweaks. The big news here is at the rear of the car. The additional vents on the lower edge of the fascia and the mocked-up vent above the engine leads our spy photographer to believe that a new engine could be tucked under the body work - likely a smaller-displacement, turbocharged flat-six focusing more on improving fuel efficiency and reducing exhaust emissions rather than performance.
We last heard rumblings of such a detuned 911 back in August, but could this be our first look at said new model? Have a look for yourself, and let us know what you think - either about this mule specifically or the idea of a "green" 911, in Comments below.
McLaren P1 squares off against Porsche 918 in Evo track battle
Fri, Nov 21 2014Evo's side-by-side comparison of the McLaren P1 against the Porsche 918 Spyder isn't the first time we've seen England and Germany's ultimate automotive weapons sized up together; last month, Autocar tested them over the standing mile, with a Ducati 1199 Superleggera playing the joker. Evo throws a few curves at its test, though, taking the supercars to Anglesey Circuit in Wales to see which will lay down the fastest lap time with scribe Jethro Bovington at the wheel. In case the numbers haven't yet been seared into your memory, while both are assisted by electric motors, the 3,069-pound, rear-wheel drive P1 gets on with 903 horsepower and 664 pound-feet from a 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8. The 3,750-pound, all-wheel-drive 918 Spyder does its job with 795 hp and 575 lb-ft surging out of a naturally aspirated, 4.6-liter V8. We're not told know which circuit layout he uses for the test, but both cars comfortably eclipse the mark set by the fastest coupe Evo's driven around it so far, the Ferrari 458 Speciale. Then, in an epilogue occasioned by a tire change, one of the supercars comfortably eclipses its own time again, before Bovington declares one the master of the track and the other the ruler of the street. Enjoy finding out which is which in the video above.
