1976 Porsche 912e (time capsule edition)
This is a very rare one-owner car with 158k miles. 99% original, including a circa 1975 “FuzzBuster” radar detector, Porsche designs driving glasses and driving gloves. Car has a very rare color combo of Talbot Yellow (code 106) with red leather interior – only 10 of these were made! I have never seen another Porsche with this color. The owner also special ordered this car with rare and expensive “Sport Seats”. They have been redone at some point and need to be recovered back to factory leather. This is a nice driver quality 912e that has been looked after. I purchased it from the 85 year old original owner who gave up driving it many years ago. It has been parked in his garage with a cover on it for a couple of decades. He or a family member started and regularly drove the car every month. He kept its registration and insurance current (I have all the documents going back 25 + years) This 912e was a daily driver from April of 1976 to around 1984. In that time the owner put approx 80k miles on the car. The car was then regulated to backup car and then 3rd car. I bought the car in a three car package and need to liquidate these two. The car is in driver quality shape. Many nicks and chips in the paint and the seats need to be redone. No dings or dents but the car could use a repaint. Car starts, runs and rides well for its age. Floors are perfect and is under the hood (no rust) Clean Nevada title in hand (you will be the second registered owner) As a nice bonus he passed onto me a few nice period accoutrements: 1. Ferrari 458 Speciale vs Porsche 911 GT3 shows what Chris Harris does best
Thu, Nov 27 2014After a brief trip behind a pay wall, British auto journalist Chris Harris is back posting videos for free online, and shorts like this one are the perfect example of why his return is so welcome. Showing up at the damp Anglesey Circuit on the Welsh coast with the Ferrari 458 Speciale and Porsche 911 GT3, Harris ostensibly aims to find the better model. However, the final result really succeeds in showcasing the fun to be had behind the wheels of both supercars, particularly when initiating huge slides around the track. As Harris presents it, the vehicles get through the circuit in somewhat different ways The Ferrari is brash and "feels alive," as he puts it as it screams around the track. Alternatively, the Porsche is a bit more restrained, while still being able to show some emotion. In the end, it comes down to trying to get a controlled lap around Anglesey from this duo, but it's pretty clear that the times don't tell the whole story. If you're in the mood to watch two of the world's premiere supercars wag their tails in the wet, then this video cannot be missed.

Thu, 10 Jul 2014Bentley and Porsche are two of the jewels in Volkswagen Group's luxury brand crown, but in Florida they also have a very tenuous connection with crime. With his multiple face and neck tattoos, including a Bentley logo right between his eyes, Derek Denesevich (pictured above) has been charged with the surprising crime of alleged identity theft. He recently surrendered to a Florida court, and could face seven years in prison, if convicted.
You might wonder where Porsche fits into this. According to the Sun Sentinel, Denesevich's accomplice was one Porscha Kyles, who worked for the Broward Clerk of Courts. She allegedly used her access to driver's license records to steal information and sell it to Denesevich. He is then accused of filing fraudulent income taxes to recoup the refund checks.
According to the Sentinel, Kyles has already pleaded guilty to conspiracy and identity theft and was sentenced to three years and one day in prison. The duo reportedly stole over 100 identities and made at least $120,000. Scroll down for a video about this pair of auto-related criminals.
Leno buys classic Porsche 356 Carrera 2, seeks out and finds perfect expert for help
Mon, 19 Aug 2013The world of collector cars is fairly tight-knit when you get down to individual models. Need proof? Just take a look at this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. The subject is a gorgeous 1963 Porsche 356 Carrera 2. Jay, being known as quite a collector, got a call from someone looking to sell. While doing his due diligence and looking for a 356 expert to go over the car with him, he came across John Willhoit.
Where the story gets weird is when Leno is asked the license plate number - it turns out that Willhoit, owner of Willhoit Restorations, had restored the exact same car more than 30 years prior. He then sold it to the same person that was looking to give it to Leno. What follows is a truly interesting video on the little quirks of the 356, along with Willhoit's personal history on a car he hadn't seen since 1976.
