You are bidding on a wonderful original unmolested 1976 Porsche 912E.

The car runs and drives quite well.  It still has its original fuel injection system.  The transmission shifts up and down through all gears perfectly.  The car has no problems keeping up with highway speeds   This car is as rust free as I have ever seen an old Porsche.  I wiped the dirt off the bottom of the floor pans and it revealed the most factory fresh looking bottom I have ever seen.  The car presents quite well however the paint is by no means perfect.  There are scratches , chips, touch ups and other wear.  But it looks very good for a 40 year old car.  All instruments function properly including the clock which actually keeps time.  There are cracks in the dash and normal wear and tear in the interior.  The leather seats are in wonderful condition.  The trunk area is very tidy and original.  The spare has never been used.   The engine compartment is tidy as well.  The engine starts up on the first crank cold or warm.  The engine does have trouble idling until it is warm but goes down the road with no problems.  All and All it is a fantastic example on a very original and unmolested 912E in beautiful Irish Green.

The car is being sold "AS IS"  "where is" .  There is no warranty of any kind.  Buyer is responsible for shipping or transport.  I will certainly assist you or a transport company in preparing the car for transport.

I reserve the right to end the auction early.

This car is being offered with a low reserve so Bid to win.

If you have any questions please feel free to call me anytime and I will do my best to assist you.

Thank you for looking.  Happy bidding and Happy Motoring,

Darren Hall

This car is completely RUST FREE.  I got a question about one of the photos where the Drivers side rear quarter shows a small rusty looking spot behind the rear wheel where the fender meets the rear bumper.  The spot is red primer coming through where the previous owner burned through it with a buffer.  That is the only major paint defect on the car.  I have a small collection of early Porsche.  It is small due to space and because of this I am very picky about any car I purchase.  I have an overwhelming lust for original unrestored cars and that is why I purchased this car.  It is a very good and honest example of an unrestored Porsche.  The only things that have changed are a few areas where there has been paint touch up and the radio is not original.  I have placed as many pics as I can on the listing showing areas that I would have concern.  Most of the pics are to show you real condition.  The car shows wonderfully as a driver.  This is a must have car for Porsche collectors.  There just were not that many made and there are not many left.  Especially in this kind of condition.

'Ring Queen Sabine Schmitz battles Ron Simons in Porsche vs Ferrari scrap

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

We hope you have seven minutes to kill. RSR Nürburgring recently took the time to pit Sabine Schmitz and her slightly modified Porsche 911 GT3 RS against Ron Simons and his Ferrari 458 Italia in a sparring match around the infamous Green Hell. The clip begins with the two drivers engaging in a smidgeon of smack talk before the two get down to the business of beating each other's doors off around one of the most challenging courses in the world. Simons calls his car superior to Schmitz's 911, while Schmitz says she's up against nothing more than a Fiat driven by an old Dutch man.
Don't hold any punches, you two.
We won't spoil the finale for you, but we will say the tango is worth watching. At the end, the loser calls for a rematch. We can't wait to see that throwdown. Check out the clip below for yourself.

Motor Trend hits Laguna Seca with Ferrari F12, Chevy Corvette, Porsche 911

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

According to the crew at Motor Trend, we should think of the video below "as an addendum to Best Driver's Car," a test the magazine put together that elevated the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S above all others in the category of driving joy. It seems the brand-new 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray wasn't able to take part in the magazine's official test, and neither was the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
And so Motor Trend did the only logical thing: It procured both the 'Vette and Prancing Horse as soon as it could, and put them both on track with the Driver's Car-winning 911. Of course, these cars don't actually compete against each other - the Ferrari offers up 731 horsepower and wears an asking price of $434,144 as tested, which means you could buy four loaded Corvettes for the price of one F12, and still have money left for a garage to store them in - but that's not the point of this particular test.
The point of this test isn't to listen to the beautiful sounds coming from the Porsche's flat-six-cylinder, the Corvette's pushrod V8 or the Ferrari's luscious V12, either, but the video below is worth watching for those three reasons alone. You know what to do.

Porsche finally moving ahead with flat four engine

Sun, 23 Mar 2014

When Porsche released the first Boxster in 1996 and the first Cayman in 2005, the idea was to create an entry-level model for the German automaker's sports car range. The latest iterations of both closely related models, however, have begun to encroach dangerously on the 911's territory, particularly in their newest GTS specifications. That could be about to change, however, with the introduction of a four-cylinder engine for the compact mid-engined coupe and roadster.
According to Automotive News, Porsche is finally preparing to launch a new boxer four engine in the Boxster and Cayman, following years of speculation. The engine would be based on the same architecture as the company's famous flat six, but with two fewer cylinders to cut weight. Don't expect it to cut much in the way of performance, however: Porsche chief Matthias Muller indicates that the new engine could produce as much as 395 horsepower - significantly more than even the 340hp flat six in the Cayman GTS, suggesting that the engine could even find its way into the 911 as well.
It's no more clear which markets would get the four-cylinder engine, either. But wherever it is offered and in whichever form, it wouldn't be the first time we'd see a Porsche with a four-pot engine. Not by a long shot. Both the classic 912 and 356 were powered by boxer fours, as was the 914 - not to mention the 718 pictured above and the iconic 550 Spyder. The front-engined 924, 944 and 968 packed inline-four engines, but the last of those were discontinued in the 1990s. The prospect of a four-cylinder Boxster/Cayman has been rumored for many years now, most recently joined by the possibility of a four-pot Macan as well.
