1968 Porsche 912 Rare Gas Heater Included
We are offering a 1968 short wheelbase 912 for sale. Body fit is good and is finished in gloss red paint with black interior. This car is driver level with a very solid floor pan and healthy mechanicals. The car has receipts for an engine overhaul approximately 15,000 miles ago and has excellent compression, oil pressure and sounds quiet. The current owner had all brake calipers and rotors redone so the car would stop properly. He then used it as a weekend fun car and local commuter for the last few years until his travels to California for winter slowed its overall use. The wheels are reproductions of the period correct alloys and have good tires fitted. The car has been converted to new Weber carbs so starts and runs well. The interior appears mostly original and does have various scuffs, cracks, and seams splits. It can be used as is but would benefit from some new seat covers and TLC. The headliner is in very good condition. If you are looking for a driver early short wheelbase 912 to use and upgrade later, this would be a good place to start.

2014 Porsche Cayman promo video hits the web
Fri, 28 Dec 2012Don't know how we missed this, but you don't have to play around with the 2014 Porsche Cayman configurator to see the new coupe in action; Porsche has given us more than two beautiful minutes of Cayman footage to enjoy.
The partners in the on-screen tango are the 275-horsepower base Cayman and the 325-hp Cayman S. If you like to keep track of such things, the former starts at $52,600, the latter at $63,800, plus $950 destination for each. Watching a video like the one below, however, is free.
'Born of a Blue Sky' brings the Amelia Island Concours to you
Fri, 03 May 2013The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance has more clout every year and is getting a reputation as Pebble Beach minus the madness. Held in March this year, it celebrated Ducati and the 50-year anniversaries of Lamborghini, the Corvette Sting Ray, Porsche 911 and the Ford GT40.
Justin Lapriore was there, and seemingly everywhere, getting footage of the various wares on display on the lawns and the sand and the runway. The resulting video, Born of a Blue Sky, is a 16-minute survey of some of the finer sights and plenty of engine sounds. Check it out below.
1950s car ads are timeless
Sat, Aug 8 2015Usually around the Super Bowl a few great car commercials show up, but for the most part auto ads today pale in comparison to the '1950s and '60s. In an era with a truly viable magazine industry, automakers would take out gorgeous full-page spreads to get the word out about their wares. It was also a time when imports were just hitting the US, and there was a boom in sports cars. Car and Driver has gone for a dig into its advertising archives from when the book was known as Sports Cars Illustrated for a truly great viewing experience. You can imagine a young Don Draper mulling over the copy for these ads, but some of it is laughably quaint today. For example, there's a great image of a driver whipping an Austin-Healey 100 around a track. The italicized red text proudly proclaims, "From 0 to 60 MPH in 10.5 seconds." One of the beautiful parts about these advertisements is that you seldom see photos of the cars. Instead, there are often detailed drawings that slightly distort the vehicles' lines. With this approach, the Porsche 356 ends up looking far more curvaceous than in real life. Plus, the front end of the Chrysler 300 looks large enough to land a helicopter on. The whole thing is worth scrolling through. There are some fascinating glimpses into auto history like an ad for Abarth exhausts before the brand was just known for tuning Fiats.
