For sale is a matching numbers Porsche 912. Floorboards have just been installed. The certificate of Authenticity indicates a rare pastel blue exterior color with a black interior and electric sunroof. Matching engine number is 1284244, which we have. The engine has been completely rebuilt from the crankshaft up. It comes with a new set of original door panels from Porsche (never installed). This car received a complete floor pan and extensive rust repair which was done to the sunroof area where the drains were plugged for many years. There are still some small amounts of rust that need to be addressed. This car does not appear to have had any accidents. It is currently titled in Hawaii but resides in Arizona.

Driving the million-mile Porsche 356
Fri, 30 Aug 2013Maybe you've seen or heard about the Porsche 356 with almost one-million miles (though it doesn't look like it), but Petrolicious finally has produced a video to show us what it's like to drive the 982,000-mile car. Guy Newmark's beautiful, dark-blue 1964 356C looks great in motion - much better than in photos - and serves to remind us not only what meticulous car care can do for old classics, but that old Porsches were built to last.
So how fastidious is Newmark about maintaining it? He takes the car to his mechanic of 40 years every 3,000 miles for an oil change and to fix anything that needs attention.

Meet the main man behind the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3
Fri, 30 Aug 2013We have yet to catch our breath from our first drive of the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3, but if you're still not sold on the fact that this track-ready 911 is only offered with a PDK transmission, then you should take it up with Andreas Preuninger. Preuninger is the guy who led the team responsible for the latest GT3. Porsche has released a video giving a little backstory of what went into the development of the car, which had as its goal the creation of a pure, rewarding 911 driving experience.
The video captures the sights and sounds of the GT3 perfectly. Perhaps the best part is listening to Preuninger describe one of the defining moments that resulted in replacing the GT3's manual gearbox with the PDK. The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
