Up for sale is my 1968 Porsche 912. I have owned the car for the past 4years and have enjoyed it very much. She is by all means not in show condition, but here on Miami Beach it turns every head. From the pictures you can see its in decent shape. When I bought the car it had a newly rebuilt engine, although it still leaked oil, I always keep the oil full. The guy whom I bought the car from told me the rebuild was done by a Porsche specialist. The engine looks as if it just rolled off the assembly line, and its fast. I have no clue how many cc's it is though. The paint is in good condition with minor dings and scratches. The crome on the car is in very nice shape, and the gold emblems on the rear look great. Since I owned the car I put a new floorboards in, they are made of fiberglass and the car has virtually no rust. I also put a new carpet kit in the car as you can see. The milage on the car is what it is. If is accurate or not, I have no clue. I will assist with any shipping to any destination. My friend owns a car shipping company and I will get you a good rate to compare with those you can find here. I also have records of maintenance going back to the 70's on the car. I really hope this car goes to a good home, it has brought me good fun in the Miami Beach winters. Its simply too hot to drive during the summer here so all it does it sits. I would definitely suggest a minor tune up. Please email me any questions, as you are buying a car from online. Happy Bidding and good luck to the new owner, whomever it is.

Watch Carrera Cup driver Connor de Phillippi's first lap of the N"urburgring

Thu, 23 May 2013

American race driver Connor de Phillippi was recently added to the roster of Porsche Juniors, the arm of Porsche's factory racing program that develops new talent. The 20-year-old is contesting the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland series with FÖRCH Racing by Lukas Motorsport, and last weekend, he raced the series round at the Nürburgring. Starting 15th on the grid, de Phillippi would cross the line in ninth out of 32 finishers.
Courtesy of his in-car camera, you can watch his entire first lap in the video below - there's no music added, just engine whine during nine minutes of crests, turns, bumpy straights and that wicked Carousel. Enjoy.

Corvette gets slidey with Britain's best performance cars

Sat, 18 Oct 2014

Autocar wants to find Britain's best driver's car, and it's challenging a murderers' row of some of the world's best performance vehicles to find out, including the latest Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. All of them were therefore assembled at the Castle Combe Circuit to find a winner.
If it wants to take the crown from this pack of mostly European competitors, the 'Vette has to beat some steep competition. Its challengers include monsters like the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Ariel Atom 3.5R and Jaguar F-Type Coupe. As a further hurdle for the winner to clear, Autocar also has last year's champ among the fighters - the Porsche 911 GT3.
Even if you're not at all interested in the C7, there's still something here for practically any fan of fast cars. The competitors include relative oddities among the pack like the Renault Mégane RS Trophy and Alfa Romeo 4C. Plus, Autocar has some well-positioned microphones that let you hear the Atom wailing like a banshee and the roar of the 458 Speciale. Check out the video to see which one of these all-stars takes home the award this year.

Petrolicious details why the Porsche 911 is something special

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

The Porsche 911 is a special car, if for no other reasons than it's been continuously produced since 1964, with nearly every generation regarded as being at or near the top of its class. But why the rear-engined icon has done so well among enthusiasts and regular drivers alike can't always be explained easily. To truly understand the 911, you have to experience the whole package, and that means driving one.
While just about every publication has raved about the Porsche, commercial director, race driver, photographer and 911 owner Jeff Zwart explains to Petrolicious why he was drawn to the legend as a young child, and why he still loves them today.
Zwart's professional and personal life are inextricably linked to the 911, and hearing him talk about the car and its history makes for fascinating viewing. Watch the video below to hear Zwart's story and see him drive a couple examples from his collection: an early 911 and the 964-generation Carrera 4 he won Pikes Peak with for the first time - a car that happens to be equipped with the 959 Paris-Dakar's fascinating torque-split transmission. Enjoy!
