California Dreamin' ** Please Note - Don't Bid if you don't intend to buy. A guy ended my auction earlier today and said his kid was bidding for fun.** I had some great offers so thank you all for bidding - this time I'll start the bids at $1,000 as see where it goes. If you are looking at this car I don't need to tell you how rare it is or the history of one of Porsche's most reliable cars ever made. The prices on these are on the rise and giving early 911's a run for their money. What this car has that almost no one has is the ORIGINAL Service book! It confirms the Engine and Chassis #'s plus has all of the service stamped through 42,000 miles to help back up the fact that the miles are actual. This car was raised in Sunny California and still wears the California plates. I think it needs to go back to a good home in California to live out it days. Here are some of the details: 1967 Porsche 912 Deluxe Model 5 Guage 5 Speed 15in Fuchs Dual Weber Carbs New Bridgestone Tires Beautiful wood Porsche Steering Wheel Under the front hood is extremely clean and rust free. Original Spare and Original Jack Interior is Immaculate - looks fully restored Awesome Stereo with iPod hook up for endless music Exterior is Rust Free - paint shines nicely with a few blemishes/chips/dings Engine bay is Extremely Clean and leak free Koni Adjustable Shocks I have owned Porsche's of all years and models and I can honestly say that this one runs and drives as well if not better than even some of the newer 911's. The motor purrs, the body is tight, there are no squeeks or rattles. It drives straight down the road at 75mph. All the guages work including the clock (doesn't quite keep accurate time). I will truly be sad to see this one go but I need to free up some cash as I have too many cars in my collection. The car is in my garage under a soft cover in Kansas City. You could drive this car cross country if you want or I can ship it to you. Don't miss out on this one - there aren't many left like this one. Call, Text or email (913)271-7100 |

Jay Leno's Dodge Challenger raises $585k for USO in Scottsdale
Mon, Jan 19 2015Of all the metal moved in Scottsdale, AZ, this holiday weekend, the one you see here was hardly the most expensive. But it's noteworthy for another reason: despite being a relatively humble, second-hand 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8, raised an impressive $565,625. That's because, first of all, it belonged to Jay Leno, and secondly because the proceeds were going to the USO. Leno donated the modern muscle car from his collection to benefit our men and women in uniform, and was on hand to present the car on stage at the Gooding & Company auction, along with USO president J.D. Crouch II and former Army chief of staff General George W. Casey, Jr. After frenzied and patriotic bidding, the gavel ultimately dropped at $360,000, accompanied by over $200,000 in additional contributions, bringing the total amount donated to the USO to over half a million. Commendable though it was, of course the Challenger didn't garner the highest bids at the auction. A 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider sold for $7.7 million and a 1968 Ferrari 330 GTS fetched $2.4 million. A rare 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Series I Coupe Aerodinamico sold for over $4,070,000 – which, according to Sports Car Market, is the most ever paid at auction for a 400 Superamerica. And a 1966 Porsche 906 Carrera 6 also sold for a record $1.98 million. Jaguar F-Type squares off against Porsche 911, Aston V8 Vantage with Chris Harris
Fri, 21 Jun 2013Chris Harris is back on the job, taking on really really difficult car questions like: Which enormously sexy and good-to-drive, high-performance convertible is the top of the heap? As one of the hottest cars in the luxury space right now, the Jaguar F-Type S is, of course, in on the action. Competition comes in the form of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster and the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. Sun-loving CEOs who despise test-driving need look no further.
Scroll on below for a fully featured (with a running time of more than 20 minutes) comparison video. Harris does his best to entertain - in a typically nitpicky and made-up-British-words fashion - and the moving pictures are lovely to look at. Kick back, pour a pint and get your weekend started off right.
Lamborghini Miura, Porsche 911 highlight Techno Classica
Mon, Apr 11 2016Visitors to the Techno Classica show in Germany this weekend were treated to the spectacle of all manner of classic cars under the roof of the Messe Essen. Not surprisingly, the Volkswagen Group was well represented, with the historical departments of two of its flagship marques showcasing their in-house restoration projects – albeit in radically different states of repair. While Porsche brought a completely restored example of a particularly storied 911, Lamborghini went the opposite route by displaying the bare body-in-white for a Miura. With the Miura now celebrating its 50th anniversary, Lamborghini's recently launched PoloStorico division is in the process of restoring several examples. Chassis #5030 is a Miura SV that, as you can see, is still in the middle of its refurbishment, its frame corrected but still unfinished – but that didn't stop the Raging Bull marque from putting it on display. It was joined by the freshly completed green example (chassis #4846) that was the department's first project, as well as the engine from a Miura P400S. Meanwhile, Porsche Classic arrived with a lovely 911 2.5 S/T, the precursor of the 911 RSR. One of only 24 examples made, this particular vehicle won its class at Le Mans in 1972 at the hands of works driver Jurgen Barth (who would alter claim victory overall in '77). It was rediscovered in poor health decades later by a collector, who commissioned Porsche Classic to bring it back to life. The task proved monumental, the vehicle having been modified, crashed, rusted, and used as a playground for children. Both vehicles aptly demonstrate the kind of care that these manufacturers' own restoration departments put into preserving their company's legacy. If you weren't in Essen this weekend to see them first-hand, you can check them both out in the pair of image galleries. Showing the original Miura SV first unveiled at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show and the subject of a full restoration by Lamborghini PoloStorico, the stand also displays a Miura chassis demonstrating work in progress and a fully overhauled Miura engine.
