1967 Porsche 912 Matching Num 46k Orig Miles 911 Rare Parts Excellent Interior on 2040-cars

Year:1967 Mileage:46574
Location:

Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, United States

Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, United States

up for sale is a very original 1967 Porsche 912. this is an original numbers matching 46k mile car. I have documentation from the 70's when the car last changed owners prior to my ownership where the mileage was recorded in the low 40k. the previous owner told me that the car has been in his barn since 1980. this explains the 78/79 inspection sticker still on the car and the very nice original interior. the original color was polo red. it was painted at some point prior to the previous owner that I purchased this car from. it has a clear PA title and I am willing to ship anywhere as long as your paying.

BODY: the car is in need of a total restoration, usual rusted floors, longs, rockers, front pan. it also has rusted holes behind the pop out windows, it can be seen in the pics.  the front bumper, rear bumpers, rear deck lid, front hood are all solid. rear deck lid has an excellent condition grille. the car also has the four screw front fenders. car also has original koni shocks yet. front hood has hood pins for some reason.

INTERIOR:  the interior is actually very nice for the most part. considering this is a 46k mile car that would be expected. the front seats are very nice original condition seats, only blemishes are one nick on the seam drivers side and a quarter size hole on the back of the passenger seat. the rear seats are also in nice condition as is the rear side panels and deck area. the dash has no cracks. left side of the dash above ignition is becoming brittle. the dash top is in nice condition as well. the original steering wheel is in excellent condition as is the rare bat wing horn button. the door panels are extremely nice, no sagging pockets or anything. everything could use some more cleaning to make it even better. not sure if this is an original radio or not, seems to fit the dash well. the carpet is nice and the original rubber mats are also present.

ENGINE: the engine is currently seized. obviously from sitting for the last 34 years it would need a rebuild. the original solex carbs are intact and move freely. the engine number is 753797 and the transmission is 237144. these are numbers matching to the certificate of authenticity which will be included with the sale.

please have a plan ready to go if you plan on purchasing this vehicle on how you will pick it up. I expect a $500 non refundable deposit at the end of the auction. I am willing to take any additional photos that you might want or answer any other questions quickly. please have this car picked up within one week of end of auction or as discussed with me.

Another cool projection vid, this time with a Porsche 911

Fri, 28 Dec 2012

Porsche has become the latest automaker to take advantage of clever projection technology. The automaker worked up a quick presentation for the 2013 911 Carrera 4S to show off a bit of "motionless driving." The display tracks the sports car from production to back-road caning and city-center cruising, displaying a variety of exterior color choices and wheel options without resorting to a two-dimensional video.
This isn't the first time we've seen an automaker use its new product as a projection screen. Subaru, Hyundai, Lamborghini and others have all done the same, and the trick never fails to be visually interesting.
As you may recall, we got to play with the 2013 911 Carrera 4S back in November and found the machine to be a better daily driver than its rear-wheel drive counterpart. You can check out the projection video below.

Lexus leads J.D. Power's Vehicle Dependability Study for 2021

Thu, Feb 18 2021

J.D. Power's latest Vehicle Dependability Study is out, and, not surprisingly, Lexus sits at the top for the ninth time in the last 10 years. Right behind Lexus is Porsche, followed by Kia, which is the highest-ranked mass-market brand in the study. Genesis, last year's top-ranked brand (in its first year included in the results), fell from first to eighth, though the G80 sedan did earn an award in its midsize luxury segment. The Porsche 911 was called out as the Most Dependable Model by J.D. Power for the second time in the last three years. The vehicles being studied are from the 2018 model year, which means owners have had three years to get to know their cars and trucks. It's notable that this year's study shows a marked improvement in overall vehicle dependability as tracked by J.D. Power. The overall level of problems, scored by the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), declined by 10% compared to last year.  "The study results validate what we have known for some time," said Dave Sargent, vice president of global automotive at J.D. Power. "Automakers are making increasingly dependable vehicles — but there are still some problem areas that need to be addressed and some warning signs on the horizon." Tesla makes its inaugural appearance on the Dependability Study, though its score of 176 PP100 isn't official. Tesla is the only automaker that has chosen not to grant J.D. Power permission to survey its owners in all 50 states. As we've pointed out in the past, the Vehicle Dependability Study includes eight major vehicle categories grouped by J.D. Power as follows: audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN); engine/transmission; exterior; interior; features/controls/displays (FCD); driving experience; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; and seats. All issues reported by owners are all tracked equally, which means a problematic phone pairing procedure dings an automaker's rating the same as a blown engine or transmission. And in fact, the ACEN category has more reported problems than any other, which means the majority of problems reported don't lead to a vehicle that leaves its owner stranded. Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).
