1967 Porsche 912 Coupe. Same Family Since New.calif. Car.super Clean. on 2040-cars
Newbury Park, California, United States
I am finally ready to part with my 1967 Porsche 912 coupe. This car was purchased by my Grandfather new in '67 from Ogner Porsche in Burbank and has always been a So Cal car. I purchased it from my father almost 30 years ago and then it got put on the back burner once my family started growing. Over the last several years I finally was able to complete it to what it is now.
The overall condition of the car is very nice, very clean and well detailed. This is a black plate car with a clean title. It is a 5 gauge, 4 speed car with almost 87000 original miles. As for what has been done to the car here is a brief description. The car has been repainted the original Sand Beige color a few years ago using OEM Glasurit paint. The interior has been redone in original style upholstery(not leather), new headliner and original Perlon carpet. The cars original rubber floor mats are still there and are in excellent condition. The only thing not working in the interior is the clock, and the original radio is there but is not operable since I removed the dash speaker when the dash was recovered(who needs a radio when your driving this car). All the body rubbers and seals have been replaced except for the doorhandle seals, mirror seal and two rubbers on the deck lid which are in excellent shape. Other than those all seals are new. The pedal bushings and shifter bushing are new. I made aluminum foot boards to replace the plywood ones. All the suspension has been gone through. New lower ball joints, steering ends, bump steer kit,Bilstein strut inserts,Koni's in the rear, adjustable spring plates and new spring plate bushings. The car has been lowered and looks and handles very nice. All the calipers have been rebuilt and work beautifully. It has all stainless braided brake lines, new master cylinder and reservoir and light switch. It sports real Fuchs with new Goodyear Eagle RS-A 195/60 15 tires. All the trim and wheels have been blacked out which gives the car a more modern outlaw look and it goes really well with the cars color. All the electrical works and it has a new fuel sender, voltage regulator, starter and I installed an electric rotary fuel pump which is hidden in the smugglers box. The original fuel pump is still in place but I took out the internals so it keeps the original look and doesn't leave a big empty space.
The motor was rebuilt with a big bore kit. I have just installed new Webers and a Bursch exhaust. It has a new clutch and throw out bearing. I replaced the headlight lenses with fluted lenses rather than the plain stock one purely for aesthetics. It has the original jack and tool kit in its original roll. It has the original owners manual in its pouch, the original tire pressure gauge and touch up bottle from when my Grandfather owned it. I even have the original window sticker and paperwork from when it was purchased along with the radio and antenna paperwork. It apparently was an accessory. I am including most of the original parts with the car because I feel they should stay with the car. This includes the solex carbs and original air cleaners and K&N filters for the solex's,headlight lenses, the original chrome wheels and hubcaps(wheels are all date matched),spring plates and some other misc. parts.
As for what the car needs or has wrong with it. The hood struts are new but still cant hold up the hood, there is no windshield washer pump(never there as long as i can remember) but has all the other parts. One of the heater cables is broken. There is a couple of touch up spots from assembly(nothing major). And since the Webers are new and I am running them straight out of the box they could probably use some fiddling. The floors are rust free but have a couple indents where a jack was used and those are right in the center of the floor but purely cosmetic. This car is being sold with no warranty either expressed or implied.
I know someone is going to be very happy with this car and enjoy it for many years. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. If you are near Ventura County CA please feel free to inspect the car. All shipping will be the responsibility of the purchaser but I will assist in in any way I can on my end. A $1000 deposit is required at the end of the auction. Thank You and enjoy.

Porsche considering X6-style Cayenne coupe
Mon, 05 May 2014It was practically unthinkable when Porsche introduced the Cayenne in 2002. An SUV... from Porsche? Purists balked, but customers flocked, and the Cayenne propelled the its holding company into such profitability that it practically took over the entire Volkswagen Group. It's now been twelve years since the original Cayenne arrived as the first production Porsche with more than two doors, and Zuffenhausen has since followed up with the Panamera, the Macan and the second-generation Cayenne. But it isn't about to stop there.
The latest intel coming in from overseas suggests that Porsche is in the advanced stages of designing a slant-back, five-door Cayenne coupe to take on the likes of the BMW X6 and upcoming Mercedes-Benz MLC. Though the business case (however solid BMW may have already demonstrated it to be) is still being considered, if approved it would join the upcoming third-generation Cayenne on the production line in Leipzig as early as 2018 - a year after the new Cayenne itself is expected to arrive.
The Cayenne coupe would share much with the more conventional MkIII Cayenne (and for that matter the next Audi Q7 and VW Touareg as well as the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Falcon) but differentiate itself with a more stylish (if less practical) roofline and an altogether sportier attitude. Autocar reports that the design calls for tauter sheetmetal and sportier cabin inspired by the 918 Spyder. Pricing would be positioned a good 15-20 percent higher than the regular Cayenne, and the "coupe" version would likely be offered with most, if not all of the engines available in the conventional version - including gasoline, diesel, turbo and possibly even hybrid options ranging all the way up to the 550-horsepower Turbo S.
Audi RS7 vs. Porsche Panamera Turbo, which would you pick? [w/poll]
Wed, 08 Jan 2014We live in a blessed time - a time when you can buy not just one, but two (or three, or four) monstrously powerful, blazingly fast four-doors that can't only keep up with modern supercars, but in some instances, will outperform them as well. Two of the finest are the Audi RS7 and the refreshed Porsche Panamera Turbo, and Motor Trend has been messing around with the both of them in this comparison video.
MT provides a comprehensive and entertaining look at the RS7 and the turbocharged Panamera as they go through a battery of tests, before getting tossed about on both the road and the track. Starring flip-flop aficionado Jonny Lieberman, it's a must-watch, whether you're in the market for one of the two super sedans or merely want to see the former Autoblog editor again.
After having a look at the video, register a vote for the car you'd park in your driveway in our poll. Hop below for the full video from the team at Motor Trend.
These three automotive Lego kits deserve your suppoort
Sat, Mar 25 2017Lego has been quite good to car enthusiasts over the past few years. We've seen traditional kits for the classic VW Microbus, Mini Cooper, and the Caterham 620R, as well as an elaborate Technic kit for the 911 GT3 RS. But why stop there? The Lego Ideas page, which allows users to submit ideas with the chance to see their kits reach production, has many more cool car kits we'd love to see. Check them out below, and be sure to log on to vote for them. If a submission hits 10,000 votes, it is considered for production. That's how we got that Caterham kit, so it's worth your time to show your support. Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 This is a submission aimed at becoming one of Lego's Speed Champions kits. These are very small mini-figure scale car models, and the series has included the Ford GT, Audi R18 Le Mans racer, and more. This kit features a tiny version of the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, a Group B rally racer that gave Peugeot World Rally Championship titles two years in a row. The kit has a well-executed version of the car and its massive rear spoiler on the hatch. It also comes with a big dirt crest for it to fly over, along with amazed spectators on the sidelines. Porsche 911 Turbo 930 We love the GT3 RS Lego kit, but we think it's a little lonely as the only Porsche kit available. Such an impressive Porsche deserves an impressive companion, like this 911 Turbo. It's the 930 version, which is arguably the most famous classic 911 with its turbocharged power, whale-tail wing, and scary driving dynamics thanks to considerable turbo lag and rear-engine handling characteristics. This model is quite large at 1:10 scale, and comes with a detailed interior and exterior. The best part is the remote-control components underneath that allow the car to be driven. Jeep Wrangler JK Moving off the beaten path again, we have this highly detailed Wrangler kit. Actually, we have two kits, as the creator designed both two-door and four-door versions. They both feature removable hard tops, detailed interiors, and big tires. They also come with an assortment of off-road accessories such as auxiliary lights, an off-road jack, winch, gas can, roof rack, and off-road bumper. You can also find various fluid reservoirs and engine details under the opening hood.
