1967 Porsche 912

I have been the owner of this Porsche for the past 40 years. It has always been kept dry. For the past fifteen years, it has been sitting in storage and has only been taken out a few times. I bought the car young and now we're old with children in college and would rather go fishing at the lake. Original color was green, it was painted over twenty five years ago. Car was driven five years ago on the road.

Engine runs (see video) however, it will need a tune-up. It has never leaked oil, but upon recent check there appears to be an oil leak as I drove it out of the barn. The brakes will need to be re-done as the calipers are locked. I will include another set calipers that need to be rebuilt.
Drivers mirror is cracked. Original radio has been replaced with new radio and updated speakers on back panel. There is small rip in the leather on the drivers seat.
Needs switch for windshield wiper. No spare tire. Needs button for passenger door.  Need torsion bar covers. Upgraded exhaust. Bit of bubbling on the hood.

Interior is in very good condition for how old the car is. A bit of grime/wear on drivers side door and a bit on the inside top but all it needs is a great cleaning. Body is in good shape with one bad ding on the drivers side. I do not know if the speedometer works. To get it to start-up, I installed an electric fuel pump. The original needs a re-build kit. The distributor needs a re-build kit.

I believe this to be an excellent candidate for a full restoration or a nice car for someone who has time dedicated bringing it up to street ready condition- it will not need a lot, however, it will need a desire which I do not have. Numbers are matching with comparison to 912 registry, however, I have not authenticated it with Porsche.  Please examine the photos for your own peace of mind.

A beautiful classic Porsche, do not miss. I have been around Porsches my entire life, and myself and family will be sad to see this one go.  Please let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to take additional photos.  I am two hours from Chicago and an hour from Madison and Milwaukee. Car is titled and ready to be transferred to the new owner.

A $500 non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours after purchase. Payment must be made within 7 days of purchase. Transportation of the vehicle is up to the buyer, please contact me.

McLaren boss' exclusive Porsche 935 Street is worth three 911 Turbos

Wed, 21 May 2014

McLarens may be exclusive, but there are still hundreds - if not thousands - of people out there who can say they own one. Mansour Ojjeh is one of them, but he doesn't just own a McLaren - he owns McLaren. As in, the company that makes the racing and exotic supercars. Or 25 percent of it, anyway. As the head of Techniques d'Avant Garde, Ojjeh is one of the British outfit's largest shareholders, previously having owned Heuer watches (before selling it to luxury giant LVMH) and engineered Porsche's most successful foray into Formula One - winning the world drivers' championship three times in a row and the constructors' title twice with Alain Prost and Niki Lauda behind the wheel of McLarens with Porsche engines developed and branded by TAG.
In short, he probably could get any McLaren he wanted at the drop of a hat, but also had strong ties to Porsche in the 80s, and this is the car he wanted. It's called the Porsche 935 Street, and it's the only one ever made. Inspired by the 935 racer that won Le Mans and over 120 other races, Ojjeh contracted Porsche Exclusive when it was still in its infancy to make him one for the road. So they took a 930 bodyshell, slotted in the 3.3-liter turbo flat-six from the 934 but cranked output up to 375 horsepower, and gave it the brakes, suspension, BBS wheels and wide-body aero from the 935 racer. They painted it a deep metallic red and trimmed the interior with cream leather and wood veneer.
When all was said and done, a total of 550 modifications were performed, detailed on a seventeen-page invoice and costing as much as three new 911 Turbos at the time. Ojjeh only put 12,000 miles on the odometer, running up and down the French Riviera, and has now put it up for sale at the upcoming Bonhams auction at Spa where it's tipped to fetch upwards of 300,000 euros - equivalent to $410k at today's rates, or, once again, the price of about three new 911 Turbos.

Porsche continues facelift spree with 911 Turbo

Fri, 24 Jan 2014

If there's ever been automotive case for constant evolution, it is the Porsche 911. It seems like every time a new version of the rear-engined sports car debuts, Porsche is already hard at work on a facelifted version of it that changes some subtle, barely noticeable aspect.
Such is the case with this round of images of a facelifted 911 Turbo, which was seen undergoing winter testing alongside the facelifted, hardtop-version of the 911 Cabriolet we showed you yesterday. The new, 991-based 911 Turbo was just unveiled in May of 2013.
Like the Cabrio from yesterday, both the Turbo and naturally aspirated models shown here feature additional slats at the rear of the car, right behind the rear wheels. These slats on the standard model lend credence to what we learned yesterday - that even the regular 911 models could end up getting turbocharged mills.

Porsche Museum highlights history of the 911 RSR

Sat, 12 Jan 2013

Porsche has amassed quite an impressive trophy case in just about every racing series it has ever entered, and one of its most dominant machines has to be the 911 RSR from the 1970s. Taking part in various GT-class competitions, the 911 RSR managed to take home three international and seven German victories in 1973, its very first year of competition.
Not one to downplay its racing successes, Porsche has released an informative video detailing the 911 RSR's impressive heritage. The 1973 RSR model owned by the Porsche Museum is detailed beautifully on video, and we have to say it looks absolutely stunning in its vintage Martini Racing livery.
Have a look at the video below for some historic racing action, along with static shots of one of our favorite Porsche models ever created.
