Hello and thank you for looking at my nearly complete 1966 Porsche 912 3 gauge, 5 speed. The car has been disassembled for restoration, but is nearly complete. I have had the car for nearly 7 years and it has been garage kept the entire time. The PO was in the military and had the car stored for several of his 15 years of ownership. The odometer reads nearly 78,000 and with the level of wear on the car I can believe this is pretty close to actual, but it may not be. Over the years I have purchased numerous parts and pieces to complete the car if anything was missing, such as fog light covers and even the rear deck lid lights. A list of extra part is included below. The front fenders, bumpers and hood have been media blasted, blocked and painted with a light coat of primer. As with any of these cars there is some rust. The front suspension pan needs replaced, the passenger floor board has been removed and is ready for replacement. (New sheet metal from Restoration Design included). The driver side rear longnitunals and jack point need minor repair but does not need replaced. The motor is great, and was running when I pulled it 18 months ago it has Solex carbs, clutch and flywheel are in good condition too. In all its a great car that just needs to be completed. VIN - 456895 Engine - 747227 Transmission - 902/1 5 Speed Unfortunately the front windshield, front seats and carpeting are missing. Other than that everything is there that I can think of. Included with the car: Clear Colorado Title, New floor pans and rear license plate roll pan from restoration design. New rubber door, hood, trunk, and bumper seals. Also included are new turn and marker signal plastic covers. New engine stickers, and head gasket covers. I have access to a loading dock and loading equipment i.e. forklifts, if the car needs to be shipped. I will work with you and your carrier but will not quote or provide shipping If you have any question please let me know. |

Porsche's 959 is still poster-worthy after all these years
Thu, 24 Jul 2014Today, we have the Porsche 918 Spyder. Before that, there was the Carrera GT. While both of those cars are dramatic departures from the traditional, rear-engine Porsche formula, they owe their very existence to another wild child of the iconic German brand - the 959.
Like so many of the great performance cars of yesteryear, the 959 was a homologation special, built just so Porsche could go racing in the clinically insane Group B rally series. Fewer than 400 959s hit the streets, but those that did were some of the most advanced cars of the 1980s. A rear-mounted, twin-turbocharged flat-six sent its power through a still-rare all-wheel-drive system, creating a race-inspired rocket that was, for a short time, the fastest production car on the planet.
Xcar has the story of the 959, from its inception to its conquest of the Paris-Dakar rally, which is interspersed with a drive of the legendary coupe. Scroll down for the full video.
Porsche to decide soon on Bugatti future
Mon, Jun 21 2021WEISSACH, Germany — Volkswagen will soon decide on the future of its luxury brand Bugatti, Oliver Blume, Volkswagen management board member and CEO of Porsche AG, said on Monday. Last week, Reuters reported that Bugatti was working on a strategic partnership with Rimac, which will likely result in a joint venture between Porsche and Rimac, with Porsche as a minority partner, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess said in March. "The future of Bugatti is an issue that will be decided on a group level," Porsche said in a statement, declining to comment further. Porsche boss Oliver Blume earlier this year said intense discussions on Bugatti's future were ongoing and that Rimac could play a role as the brands were a good technological fit, adding that a decision was expected in the first half of 2021. Porsche 911 celebrates 50 years of iconic motoring
Tue, 10 Sep 2013Back in 1963, Porsche debuted the very first 911 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. And over the last 50 years, that coupe has grown to become one of the most iconic sports cars of all time. That in mind, you could easily chalk up this 50th Anniversary model as just one of the many special edition 911s that have graced our roads over the years, but dig a bit deeper and you'll see that this one is far more than just some unique paint and different wheels.
For starters, the 911 50th Anniversary Edition utilizes the wider Carrera 4/4S body, but retains its standard rear-wheel-drive configuration. Power comes from the Carrera S' 3.8-liter flat-six engine, but features a Powerkit upgrade that includes the Sport Chrono package and ups overall output to 400 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Hitting 60 miles per hour takes just 3.8 seconds if the car is fitted with Porsche's dual-clutch PDK gearbox, or 4.2 seconds if you choose the row-your-own seven-speed manual. Talk about going Over The Hill with a quickness.
Despite looking pretty tame, we're really hot on the appearance of this special 911, with its throwback flat gray paint job and new 20-inch wheels that look remarkably similar to the original Fuchs alloys of the 1963 model. Inside, you'll find green lettering on the instrument displays, white pointer needles and silver accents, and the leather seats have a fabric insert that's similar to the Pepita cloth from the original 911.
