Early 1966 3 Gauge 5 speed car
Then it came to the motor, which while rebuilt, barely ran upon arrival. I spent a fair amount of time replacing parts I could not get the original Solex split shaft P11-40 carburetors to work for me, So I added freshly rebuilt Dellorto 40 DRLA carbs I replaced the pedal assembly with a restored one, with upgraded brass bushings instead of the plastic.
No warranty stated or implied. Non-Refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auction close, Balance to be paid via wire only within 7 days. Wire only, I do not need someone showing up with $20K+ cash. It is Houston after all... Please check my perfect feedback including selling 2 classic VW's here on eBay. I'm good as a buyer too :D I will assist your shipper, I can recommend a great shipper, and if you are an international buyer, I will assist in driving the car to the port of Houston I will keep the car insured and garaged until pick up, but please be mindful about picking up within 2 weeks. My garage space is at a premium. Speaking of insurance, it is currently insured at $25K agreed value with Hagerty, it runs about $200 a year. They actually want to bump it up to $30K, they too follow classic Porsche prices.
I'm including pictures below, but should they be removed, here's a link to 50 more pictures : http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Erik_G/library#/user/Erik_G/library/ghia/1966%20Porsche%20912?sort=2&page=1&_suid=1404240339397038823900025223995 |

Porsche slathers Martini livery on 911, Panamera, Macan and Cayenne
Mon, 20 Oct 2014This is how we imagine the conversation went in Porsche's Stuttgart headquarters: "Martini livery. Martini livery all the things." Okay, so maybe not, but that hasn't stopped Porsche from showing off images of its entire lineup bearing the iconic racing livery.
While we aren't sure about the questionably yellow 911 and lime green Macan, the navy blue Cayenne and the white Panamera both look pretty spectacular as they lap about the streets of Sochi, Russia.
As for why the liveried sports cars and crossovers were at the site of the 2014 Winter Olympics, we aren't totally sure. Porsche's Facebook page, where the images first popped up, was really light on details. Whatever the reason, we fully support Porsche doing more with Martini livery. Take a look at the full gallery to see what we mean.
Porsche has doubled US sales to women [w/videos]
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Porsche is having a good sales year in the US, with 25,129 vehicles delivered year-to-date coming off the automaker's best July sales ever. That's a 31-percent increase over the same period last year (19,253 deliveries). With year-to-date Panamera sales a surprising 36 percent lower than last year, what possibly could be driving Porsche's sales surge? If you answered Cayman and Boxster sales, you're right. But dealerships are noticing another factor: more women are coming in to buy Porsches, CNBC reports, the bulk of whom picked up new Cayenne SUVs. The German automaker's sales to women in the US have more than doubled in the past two years, increasing from 7 percent to 15 percent. This has helped year-to-date Cayenne sales reach 11,082 - 31 percent higher than the same time last year.
Porsche executives have been trying to tap into the women's market, as evidenced in part by the company's move to pick professional tennis player Maria Sharapova as a brand ambassador. Porsche maintains it has not moved to dramatically change its brand image, but it has shown a number of ads in recent years that uncharacteristically emphasize its vehicles' practicality under the "Engineered for Magic. Everyday" banner - some featuring female drivers.
Be sure to watch CNBC's video report on Porsche's female movement below - you'll also find one of the aforementioned Engineered For Magic ads as well as an interesting case study video on the campaign from ad agency Cramer-Krasselt.
Porsche continues facelift spree with 911 Turbo
Fri, 24 Jan 2014If there's ever been automotive case for constant evolution, it is the Porsche 911. It seems like every time a new version of the rear-engined sports car debuts, Porsche is already hard at work on a facelifted version of it that changes some subtle, barely noticeable aspect.
Such is the case with this round of images of a facelifted 911 Turbo, which was seen undergoing winter testing alongside the facelifted, hardtop-version of the 911 Cabriolet we showed you yesterday. The new, 991-based 911 Turbo was just unveiled in May of 2013.
Like the Cabrio from yesterday, both the Turbo and naturally aspirated models shown here feature additional slats at the rear of the car, right behind the rear wheels. These slats on the standard model lend credence to what we learned yesterday - that even the regular 911 models could end up getting turbocharged mills.
