1978 Porsche 911 SC Coupe

Steel Slant Nose Wide Body

Real Porsche Whale Tail

Upgraded Air Conditioning That Actually Blows Cold

Polished Wheels

Tinted Windows

Offered for sale is my 911 SC Coupe. The car was in California up until about 15 months ago.  Prior to my ownership, a steel slant nose kit was installed, as was a wide body kit.  The job was done excellently !  The fit is excellent, and the materials used were not the cheap fiberglass pieces. The paint is less than 2 years old, and is the correct factory Guards Red as it was when it was new. It shines nicely, and there is no rust visible ANYWHERE.  The body, floors, doors, deck lid, and spare tire area are gorgeous.  I have about 100 pictures that I can send if anyone needs to see the floors from underneath.  The are all original and look amazing.  NO PATCHES or anything hidden with undercoating.  The factory coating is still on it all.

The car also came with black interior, and it looks excellent.  The seats are black with red stitching, as are the door panels.  The only flaws worth mentioning are the typical "puffy" sun visors, and the material at the leading edge of the sunroof.  It's hardly noticeable.  The JVC stereo sounds great with the Polk Audio speakers.   The dash is beautiful with no cracks or splits.  The windows roll up and down, the doors lock and unlock with the key, the sunroof works well, and the safety items ( high beam and low beam lights, horn, wipers, brake lights, third brake light, back up lights, turn signals, and fog lights ) all work as they should. The headlight motors were just rebuilt, along with new relays installed the correct way so they don't fill up with water. It has the spare tire and jack under the carpet in the trunk.

The tires are excellent.  The wheels are highly polished and the red centers look great.  The front calipers were just rebuilt and the front pads were replaced at the same time.  The rear brakes are excellent, and the car is ready to be driven just like it sits.  It starts easily, idles well, and doesn't smoke, knock, rattle, or make any unusual noises. The chain tensioners have been upgraded and the air box has been drilled. The clutch grabs close to the floor, the transmission shifts correctly, the steering is tight, and overall...IT'S A PORSCHE !

Fly in and drive your new rust-free 911 SC home.  If you are the winning bidder and want to ship it, I will assist you any way I can. The car is listed to be sold.  No time wasters and tire kickers PLEASE.  Feel free to come and see the car in person.  I think it looks better in person than it does in photos.  There is nothing to hide...what you see is what you get.  You can email me at northshorebill@aol.com, or call or text me at 941-740-2277.  Emails and texts are preferred, but calls are possible, just not as easy as a text or email.

I'd rather sell the car than trade it since I have too many as it is, but I won't rule out the option.  Send pictures of what you have and what kind of deal you had in mind.  If it's nothing I want, I'll tell you that.  I won't waste your time or mislead you.  Bid to win, ask anything that pops into your head, and make sure you have your funds in order before you bid.  Get permission from whoever you need to, and let's make this a quick and painless transaction.

The car is located in Port Charlotte, Florida...approximately 90 miles south of Tampa, 2 miles off of I-75.  Easy on and off of the highway, so you can be on your way quickly.

Another cool projection vid, this time with a Porsche 911

Fri, 28 Dec 2012

Porsche has become the latest automaker to take advantage of clever projection technology. The automaker worked up a quick presentation for the 2013 911 Carrera 4S to show off a bit of "motionless driving." The display tracks the sports car from production to back-road caning and city-center cruising, displaying a variety of exterior color choices and wheel options without resorting to a two-dimensional video.
This isn't the first time we've seen an automaker use its new product as a projection screen. Subaru, Hyundai, Lamborghini and others have all done the same, and the trick never fails to be visually interesting.
As you may recall, we got to play with the 2013 911 Carrera 4S back in November and found the machine to be a better daily driver than its rear-wheel drive counterpart. You can check out the projection video below.

Porsche spotted testing next-gen Panamera in the snow

Thu, Jan 22 2015

It's winter testing season in northern Sweden, and the latest spy shots our paparazzi on the ground have brought us is the upcoming Porsche Panamera testing in the cold and snow. The upcoming new four-door Porsche, spied wearing only minimal camouflage, appears to have a more elegant and sloping roofline than the existing model. Other details like the lights, mirrors and grille openings look fairly consistent with what we've been seeing on Porsche's other models as they've trickled out. Based on the new MSB platform, the new Panamera is set to share its underpinnings with the next Bentley Continental and possibly an Audi variant as well – though the prospect of a Lamborghini version to follow the Estoque concept seems to be off the table. The new platform will, however, make the new Panamera lighter than the current model. A new range of V6 and V8 engines are expected to provide motivation, driving the rear wheels or all four, along with the available e-hybrid system. Porsche's first four-door sedan was introduced in 2009 and underwent a facelift in 2013, so the all-new second-generation model should arrive sometime later this year or next as a 2017 model. This new model could provide the impetus for Porsche to put the Sport Turismo shooting brake version into production as well, and maybe – just maybe – a two-door coupe and possible convertible versions to follow in the footsteps of the 928.

Next Porsche Cayman and Boxster to be called 718?

Wed, Dec 24 2014

Porsche has spent a few years sorting out its strategy away from the 911 and its crossovers, among the moving targets being the now-moribund Ferrari-fighting 960, the still-very-much-alive variant(s) coming with the next-generation Panamera, and what appears to be a puissant Cayman that could be called the GT4. Earlier this year there were rumors that a flat-four engine would join the Stuttgart maker's lineup, and that it could go into a roadster called the 718 that would undercut the current $51,400 price of the Boxster, and the Boxster would go upscale, leapfrogging the $52,600 price of the Cayman. Then Porsche turned out the lights on the 718 project, its R&D head telling Autocar, "We have a very good entry point to the range with the Boxster, and we see no reason to go below that." But Automobile reports that while the 718 roadster is dead, the 718 name will live: a la the 911, a new 718 range will encompass coupes and convertibles spanning a wide performance envelope. The suggestion is that the Boxster and Cayman names will be retired. According to Automobile, this will give Porsche a place to put its flat-four engine, into entry level models that – countering Porsche's earlier statement – "come in at a significantly lower price than" the present Boxster. Two displacements are expected, in three outputs: a 2.0-liter with 285 horsepower, a 2.5-liter with 360 hp and a turbocharged version with 400 hp. It's also been speculated that the engine could power an entry-level Macan. It's been reported before that Porsche wants to make use of the 718 name to promote its motorsport heritage, that model having carried Stirling Moss to victory among its many racing triumphs. If it happens, even though Automobile calls it part of "a slight perspective shift," we think it'll be a big shift for the two popular models, but it's not like we haven't had time to get ready. We're told the new moniker will be introduced in 2016 as a 2017 model. News Source: Automobile via World Car Fans Porsche Convertible Coupe porsche 718
