2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 991 on 2040-cars
Middleton, Wisconsin, United States
I'm selling my awesome 2013 Porsche 911 (type 991). I purchased it new from my local Porsche center. This is my 4th 911, and it has probably been my favorite of the four. The only reason for the sale is I am planning on purchasing a vintage 911 that I have had my eye on, and I need the garage space. It has never been tracked, I have driven it daily, It comes with two set of tires. The original Pirelli PZero's (with almost all of there life left) and a winter set of Pirelli Scottozero's (with most of there life left).
This is a rare beast given it is a 7speed manual. Perfect for those like myself who prefer to be connected with the car when driving. It is the standard black (Not the metallic Basalt Black), with black leather sport seats that have gray hard shell backs (partially power/manual), Power sunroof, 20" Carrera S wheels in Matte titanium finish (They Look Awesome!), Sport Chrono package (can you say Rev Matching with the seven speed manual:0), Navigation, Bluetooth Streaming Audio, Heated Seats, I had the windows tinted, but not obnoxiously dark. It also has two sets of mats (all seasons, and carpeted). These days its very difficult to buy the new 911 (991) for south of $100,000, this one however is going to be available in the $80's, of course unless there is a flurry of activity:). If you have any questions at all please contact me directly at (608) 354-6787. My Name is Alex. Before bidding, or committing. ONLY serious buyers please, NO Wanna Bees, NO Solicitors. I do have it for sale locally, and reserve the right to end the auction early, if this occurs. Spring Has Sprung! Here is your opportunity to enjoy your whole driving season! |

Modded budget Mazda Miata takes on new Porsche Boxster in more challenges
Tue, 23 Sep 2014Earlier this month, our friends across the pond at Auto Express released the first in a two-video series that would see them try and build up a second-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata that could best a standard Porsche Boxster around the track. While that first video detailed the mods to the MX-5 - a supercharger, some suspension upgrades and a new set of super-sticky rubber being chief among them - and set baseline lap times for the stock car, today, we have the results of the 5,000-pound ($8,200) upgrade job.
Of course, we aren't going to spoil those for you. You'll need to watch the full video, which recaps the upgrades before digging into a comparison of both straight-line-speed differences between the 2.7-liter Porsche Boxster and blown Miata, as well as their behavior and lap times on the track.
Take a look and let us know what you think in Comments.
Porsche 911 GT3 named Performance Car of the Year by Road & Track
Thu, 13 Nov 2014The Porsche 911 GT3 is a very, very good performance car. Yes, we know this is like saying fire is hot and a shovel to the head hurts. What's different about this proclamation, then? Well, we bring up the 911 GT3's inherent goodness because our friends at Road & Track have named it their 2015 performance car of the year.
This is, our joking aside, a big accomplishment for the 911 GT3, due largely to the field of cars it beat out. There were many equally track-focused wonders in attendance, including the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and Dodge Viper SRT TA, as well as more capable everyday vehicles, like the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, BMW M3 and Ford Mustang GT.
But it was the 475-horsepower, rear-engined track star that R&T fell for, with editor-in-chief Larry Webster calling out the Porsche's ridiculous, howling, 9,000-rpm redline, while other editors cited its phenomenal handling character.
Ferrari return to Le Mans looking more likely?
Wed, 18 Dec 2013Statements made by Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo may indicate that the Italian brand could return to a form of racing it's been absent from for 40 years - prototype racing. That's right, LMP1 could see a factory Ferrari team for the first time since 1973, if a report from ESPN F1 is to be believed.
"We have won with the 458 GTE, but I also quite like the idea of racing at Le Mans in the highest category: who knows, maybe one day we can return and win, say thanks and come home," Montezemolo said. "Maybe we should give it some consideration..."
These seemingly idle, off-hand comments might not hold much water, were rumors about Ferrari's return to prototype racing not swirling as recently as August. There's also the fact that the upcoming, 1.6-liter, turbocharged V6 being used for Formula One complies with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest's own LMP1 regulations, according to ESPN. Finally, Ferrari returning to Le Mans might also explain this video of a camouflaged Ferrari LaFerrari testing a new turbocharged engine, which we showed you a few weeks back. There's a fair chance that what we're actually seeing in that video are the early stages of a new Ferrari prototype testing.
