2006 Porsche Carrera-S 997
Tiptronic Transmission
Red exterior/Beige leather interior
56k miles
VIN WP0AB299X6S741524
Up for sale is my beloved 2006 Porsche Carrera. This vehicle represents the pinnacle of German engineering, and is
a rare example of well maintained low mile masterpiece. I am regrettably selling this car because I purchased
another weekend car and just do not have the space. I used this strictly as a weekend car over the past 5 years.
This car has been a real passion to drive, and who ever purchases it will be very lucky. In my 5 years of
ownership, it was garaged the entire time and only driven in excellent weather.
I also upgraded the rims to 991 OEM 19 inch sport rims.
Note: this car has a rebuilt clean title due minor damage to the driver side wheel and suspension over 5 years ago-
damaging only the exterior of the car. All of these parts were replaced with brand new parts from the Porsche
dealer. The rear end/engine/interior were not touched.
It was issued a rebuilt clean title in the state of NY and I have been driving it happily for the past five years.
The new owner will not have to go through any hassle of inspections etc.
The car is fully loaded with the following options:
Features
-3.8 Liter Motor
-Cross Drilled Rotors with ABS Braking
-Front and side air bags
-19" Carrera S Rims from newer 991
-Power Seats
-Bose Sound System package
-Navigation
-CD Changer
-Sunroof
-Always adult owned and garaged

1974 Porsche 914 EV conversion still looks good
Thu, Jan 23 2014Looking through the pages of the EV Album is a great way to learn about the breadth and depth of the electric vehicle community. Branching well beyond the three dozen or so electric vehicles that are currently sold by major automakers in the US, EV Album showcases lots of DIY conversions of all types. A 1995 Fiat Cinquecento? Check. A 1992 Kewet Eljet 2? No problem. The site's old-fashioned looks (it was started in 1997) show just how long people have been passionate about their EVs. Many of the cars are throwbacks to a previous time and we found a prime example of that, a converted 1974 Porsche 914 (EV Album page here) this week. Now powered by a Prestolite MTC4001 Series Wound DC motor and some flooded nickel-cadmium batteries, the 914 has a top speed of 80 miles per hour and a range of 35 miles. But only "if you are taking it easy," of course. The motor has a peak output of 60 horsepower and 25 hp continuous. Converted over 600 hours (!) to electric power at a cost of $10,000, it is now owned by Charlie Garlow of Maryland. The car is on display at the Washington Auto Show this week and serves as a great reminder of what most EV drivers used to have to do to drive emissions free. Daughter has great taste, gives stepdad Porsche 914 of his youth
Mon, 14 Jul 2014Children require a ton of sacrifices; even people without kids know that. Whether it's the time to watch a baseball game or the money just to get there, parents have to give up something for the betterment of their offspring. Of course, once a child grows up, it's finally possible to repay mom and dad for all of their hard work. In the case of Kristin Russell and her stepdad, Dave, that involves a surprise 1973 Porsche 914.
Before he got married, Dave had a sweet, white 914. He even had the money saved up to restore it, but spent the cash on the wedding instead. The Porsche languished in the garage until Dave eventually parted it out and sold it off. Years later, Russell wanted to do something to thank her stepdad for all of the things he had done for her and her mom. The only fitting thank you was an identical 914 to the one that he gave up. Scroll down to watch Dave's reaction of getting his dream car as a surprise Father's Day gift.
Porsche exec confirms Macan Diesel for US
Wed, 15 Oct 2014The idea of a diesel-powered Porsche is the sort of thing that sounds really, really weird... until you actually drive it. The result of sticking glow plugs under the hood of Stuttgart's finest, though, is a vehicle that's nearly as entertaining as a gas-powered model but with much more torque and better fuel economy. Considering that, we think it's absolutely splendid news that following previous reports, Porsche has now confirmed a diesel-powered Macan for the US market.
"We are now busy with the development and the engineering," Andre Oosthuizen, Porsche's North American marketing VP, told Automotive News. "I can confirm that V6 diesel offering with about 245 horsepower."
Yep, that's the same 3.0-liter V6 found, most notably, in the CUV's Audi Q5 platform-mate as well as a plethora of other Volkswagen Group vehicles, both in the US and abroad. Stuttgart already offers the 3.0-liter oil-burner in the Euro-spec crossover, where it churns out 258 hp and 427 pound-feet of torque.
