2005 Porsche 911 Carrera
Excellent Condition - Many Extras
This 997.1 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera Manual 6-Speed is in overall excellent condition and has been fully maintained
and serviced. This vehicle looks stunning and performs beautifully. This 911 handles perfectly and is very well
behaved.
The bodywork and paint are in excellent condition and dent free. The interior is in very good to excellent
condition, there is a little wear on the front seats, but they are still in very good condition. This 911 turns
heads and gets noticed wherever it goes.
The vehicle is lowered with H&R springs and is running Avant Garde Ruger Mesh rims wrapped with Nitto Invo tires in
excellent condition with plenty of life left in them, they have about 6000 miles on them. It has a factory Aerokit
bumper on the front, and aftermarket engine cover with a GT2 style spoiler on a GT3 style base at the rear. I
still have the original factory engine cover and will include it with the vehicle. The front fog lights & turn
signals were replaced with aftermarket LED ones and are wired to work as Daytime Running Lights. The side markers
and rear lights are also LED to give the vehicle a fresher look and feel.
The vehicle has the LN Engineering IMS retrofit kit to prevent IMS failure, a potential problem with this motor,
but fixed with the LN Engineering kit. The EVOMSit Intelligent Tune brings the power band in earlier and along
with the IDP plenum and Fabspeed dual carbon fiber intake breathes more life into the motor. The Fister mufflers
and intake system give this vehicle a really excellent sound, that is not particularly loud in the cabin and
doesn't drum, but it really gives the 911 the sound it should have. The spark plug tubes were replaced recently,
as well as the clutch. Everything this vehicle needed was taken care of with no expense spared.
The motor runs perfectly, as does everything else. The oil pressure runs at 5 bar nearly all the time even when
hot, which is excellent. A factory third/center radiator was added to keep the motor cool even under the harshest
conditions. This 911 was thoroughly loved and looked after.
Durametric Pro allows you to reset service reminders, read and clear diagnostic trouble codes, display and log
actual values, show ECU information, turn off check engine light, turn off airbag light, activate functions (Drive
Links), support coding changes. This kit is $735 and will be included.
Important: The instrument cluster shows 30,700 miles. This is incorrect, the vehicle has just over 60,000 miles on
it. The printing on the original cluster was blurred and fading, so it was replaced with a unit out of another
vehicle. I still have the original cluster and will include it. The correct mileage is just over 60,000 miles.
Despite the mileage the vehicle is in excellent condition all around.

These were our favorite cars of 2022
Tue, Dec 20 2022Favorite cars is different than best cars. The idea of "best" can speak to value and overall competitiveness in a given vehicle segment. There's lots of objectivity involved and to do a "best" list right, one really must be very thorough and as scientific as possible. This is not that list. This is about our favorites, so objectivity be damned. If we liked a Challenger Hellcat because it made loud noises or a Honda Odyssey because it made for a particularly special family vacation, fair game. These were the cars that most spoke to our collection of editors and the ones that stayed in our minds and hung in our hearts long after they left our driveway. — Senior Editor James Riswick 2022 GMC Hummer EV Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder: I didn't particularly expect to like the new Hummer. I wasn't a fan of the Hummer H2 or H3, so I wasn't automatically enthusiastic about this electric reboot. Fast EVs aren't hard to come by — and, in fact, may be too easy to come by — so its performance specs weren't enough to win me over. Despite videos to the contrary, pickups aren't my favorite vehicular format. And its excessive size and weight turned me off ... until I finally got behind the wheel. This thing is wildly entertaining to drive. Watts to Freedom launch control is a neat party trick, sure, but the novelty wears off quickly. The novelty of Crab Walk, however, has staying power. The rear-wheel steering makes this behemoth feel much smaller than it is — the maneuverability is incredible, and useful. The air suspension provides tons of clearance, including a ridiculously high-riding Extract mode. I can't wait for lesser versions of the Hummer to make their way to market. Give me less power (for less money), but keep the off-road tricks onboard, and I'll be a happy camper. Senior Editor, Consumer, Jeremy Korzeniewski: If I could afford to put one of these in my driveway, I would. Sadly, I can't, so I won't (What's that, Janet? I got the lyric wrong?). Still, I love the dumb thing. Thankfully, I have another choice down below. 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Associate Editor Byron Hurd: Yeah, duh, Porsches are good. But there's good, and then there's GT3. This is the feeling every performance-oriented RWD tuner is trying to replicate. This is hard, precise, surgical and immensely satisfying. To begin to explore this car on a public road is by itself an admission that you believe yourself to be above the rules as they apply to normal drivers.
Porsche finally moving ahead with flat four engine
Sun, 23 Mar 2014When Porsche released the first Boxster in 1996 and the first Cayman in 2005, the idea was to create an entry-level model for the German automaker's sports car range. The latest iterations of both closely related models, however, have begun to encroach dangerously on the 911's territory, particularly in their newest GTS specifications. That could be about to change, however, with the introduction of a four-cylinder engine for the compact mid-engined coupe and roadster.
According to Automotive News, Porsche is finally preparing to launch a new boxer four engine in the Boxster and Cayman, following years of speculation. The engine would be based on the same architecture as the company's famous flat six, but with two fewer cylinders to cut weight. Don't expect it to cut much in the way of performance, however: Porsche chief Matthias Muller indicates that the new engine could produce as much as 395 horsepower - significantly more than even the 340hp flat six in the Cayman GTS, suggesting that the engine could even find its way into the 911 as well.
It's no more clear which markets would get the four-cylinder engine, either. But wherever it is offered and in whichever form, it wouldn't be the first time we'd see a Porsche with a four-pot engine. Not by a long shot. Both the classic 912 and 356 were powered by boxer fours, as was the 914 - not to mention the 718 pictured above and the iconic 550 Spyder. The front-engined 924, 944 and 968 packed inline-four engines, but the last of those were discontinued in the 1990s. The prospect of a four-cylinder Boxster/Cayman has been rumored for many years now, most recently joined by the possibility of a four-pot Macan as well.
2014 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S debut [w/video]
Fri, 03 May 2013
The Turbo S will dispatch the Nürburgring in "well under seven and a half minutes."
Porsche is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its 911 Turbo in the best possible way: by announcing the next-generation of the rear-engined beast. The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S are here, and man oh man, do they seem like the business.
